What an excellent video.I'd sat through several other ones before finding this. Once I have worked out how to set up a volume I will be all sorted! Many thanks!
Very nice flow watching your video. Two things came to my mind first how to close the "docker compose up" properly and how the storage of the database is handled in a container. Do we have to specify a volume? Will it be there after a restart? How to backup / transfer the database if we switch to another computer?
1. Docker compose down 2. If you use a volume, the database will be persistent, and it’s very common to use one. Since it’s a folder on your computer, you can copy it to any other computer and keep working on the same data.
why when run the command "docker pull mysql" it give me this message "error pulling image configuration: download failed after attempts=6: net/http: TLS handshake timeout"
thanks for the video, it was informative and helpful ! could i ask how i can share this container with others should i want to share a database with them?
Thank you very much for the feedback. Sharing a docker image consists of two steps: 1. Creating the image (I talk about it here: ruclips.net/video/GpEgXK5ZqP8/видео.html) 2. Uploading the image to Docker hub (I talk about it here ruclips.net/video/1yfvAsrXFwM/видео.html) Notice though that if you're talking about the Data itself, it has nothing to do with docker - just export the database then import it at the destination.
when you create the container you need to expose the port like this " docker run --name NEW_NAME_FOR_THE_CONTAINER -e MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD=newpassword -p 3306:3306 -d mysql" then you connect to it like this " mysql -h localhost -P 3306 -u root -p" then type the password
the only docker video which made sense to me
