Absolutely fascinating! Really unique and unusual and makes a nice change from all the ikea white craft rooms one sees here on RUclips, bless you -Louise and Emily ❤
All that Ikea furniture makes every craft room look alike . There is no character to them. When I see a craft room like this I am immediately drawn in to another place and time and I get lost in all the memories these old things possess. Oh how I would love to go back in time and visit with all those that once owned these beautiful pieces.
I’ve been binging on craft studio tours at 2x speed to get some different ideas, but your soothing voice and relaxing camera style made me stop and watch it at normal speed. It’s so nice to see how special your items are to you. I really enjoyed this.
Oh thank you for the very kind words - how great to hear! I hope you got some ideas for your own room. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment.
Wonderful !! Loved seeing the cozy interesting craft room you have done a great job repurposing the antique pieces to house your crafts. Thank You for sharing.
Oh my goodness I had that picture in my home and when I moved in 2003 the whole truck load of things from my home went to the dump instead of my new home thank you for the memories it came from my Aunt MARY and then to me she was a seamstress in a funeral parlor thank you it’s beautiful and so is you space here just lovely
Crafting and doing stuff like that. I learn what you guys little by little. Also, I learn little things of my father teach me since they pass away. That's the only thing. It helps me go through the process
oh my god i can not tell you hoe GLOROUS it is to see a not cookie cutter white office. thank you for the new ideas and just letting me in your space. so so glorious. :-)
Your studio is just fabulous! I too love Victorian but have nothing near this wonderful. I could just sit in there all day and look at stuff lol. I'm in the process of setting up my craft room, after going without a crafting area for about 15 years. Next week I have a large Primitive cabinet being brought to me. Can't wait to get my hands on it and fill with my goodies! Good luck with all your crafting endeavors. Take care. Thanks for sharing your beautiful room.
Your studio is so, so beautiful! I have, and am, been quite ill and had to leave my job 10 years ago. Recently, after years of being a dream, my husband has had built for me a beautiful studio in our garden. The dimensions are identical to yours, but I'm sure I'll never be able to fit in as much as you have. It's good to meet someone else who has an antipathy for plastic; I loath the stuff. Anyway, it was a pleasure and a privilege to tour your studio with you. Thanks for sharing!
Diane, thank you so very much for your visit and comment. I am sorry to hear you have been unwell, but what a wonderful hubby you have to build you a studio in your garden! It must be fab! I have been collecting antiques for many many years - and in fact just did an update to this video recently where I have probably acquired some of my last pieces (at least large ones) to store my art supplies. I am so glad you enjoyed the tour - thank you again and all the best to you and yours.
I love to make little houses. I'm in to that too and I like to decorate it inside so I love when you show all your miniature things that you have. Have to start getting stuff like that. Thank you so much. You have a great place. God bless
Well I just found your channel but I absolutely adore all the details of your studio!!!❤🥰 (especially the paper towel holder!) Thank you and Dakota for giving such a great tour!!🙌🏻❤️🥰
What a lovely and cozy space. I too am in love with antiques... and you've just given me a plethora of idea's for the day when I'm able to have a designated studio.... This had to be one of the most enjoyable and relaxing studio tours I've seen to date. If I had a room like yours I'd probably be found napping peacefully amidst my projects...lol. Thanks for sharing.
Oh I am so glad I was able to give you some ideas for your own future studio! Thank you so much for your very sweet comment - I am so surprised at the response!
You have done a fabulous job creating a maker space with meaning and striking beauty. I love the Victorian theme and storied vignettes! Well done and thank you for welcoming us creators into such an inspiring well of "Victorian Era" greatness!! Be well and stay creative. ~ Rose P.S. I have subscribed and "clicked" the bell. 😉
I loved the tour and Dakota!! I have a corner in my dining room for my beading studio and my 3 cats and doggie hang out with me too. Wow your collection of materials is out of this world!! Thankyou from one artist to another!!!
Thank you for visiting! Yes, there are a few models of antique / vintage toy sewing machines out there - the shop near us had a few to choose from; this one was my favorite ;)
Your room is wonderful. When I try to put something together like that it looks a mess so I'm always in awe of anyone that can do it. I prefer wood over plastic also, but certain things I will utilize. Thanks so much for sharing.
Happy Monday To You !!! Your craft room is gorgous !!! Love the Victorian era !!! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful space with us . Follow Canadian here 🇨🇦. Big Hugs 😊💕
Good morning from Ontario. I know Winterpeg quite well as it was the halfway point when we lived in Thunder Bay. I love antiques as well and your nice cozy room is delightful. I bought a 60 drawer 12' x 5' Apothecary from an auction in our town. The old 100-year-old Drug Store was being bulldozed and I managed to obtain this beauty that was in the basement. It took me 2 weeks to clean and wax the entire unit to bring it back to its original beauty. I bought it for $200 and was just offered $5000 to sell it. I would never give it up as it is now a part of me and my craft space. It was a blizzard when the auction took place so just a few people showed up. I had my truck standing ready to bring it home. We made 2 trips because I didn't want the drawers to get damaged so I took each one out and put them on a sheet then went back for the Apothecary. hahahha It was a sad mess but it shines like a jewel as she once did. smile I never enjoyed cleaning so much in my life. haha I left it in the original wood and its brass handles. Someone said they would have painted it white. YIKES, I almost lost my breath just thinking of that. LOL I have a tutorial room tour where I proudly display it in my craft room. I house my ribbons in all 60 drawers. hahahahahaha Thank you for the wonderful tour. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I loved the little muffin tins. smile Your wool storage is adorable also. Have a blessed day!
That apothecary sounds amazing! Yikes to painting it white as well - so glad it found someone who can appreciate it's history and natural beauty. Thank you so much for stopping by and passing on your story - I will have to check out your room tour too!
@@VictorianStudioThanks for the reply. I don't know what this white craze is for craft rooms? hahaha Yes, it looks clean but you would have to clean it all the time where antiques look great with a bit of dust here and there. hahahahaha Have a great day!
A wonderful creative space! Love the tiny Singer machine! Over the years my crafting place has been in so many different spaces, but now I have a nice size room just for being creative in, and it's still bulging at the seams. lol I too love old things and decorate with them. I have vintage cookie jars I display old sewing notions in, as well as buttons, lots of old buttons, mainly passed down in the family. I also have a map of the city I live in hanging in my craft room, a copy of a hand drawn rendition by a local artist. As well as many floral frogs, displaying photos and such. Thanks for sharing.
That was such a treat, Maureen! I frequently catch myself straining to look over your shoulder during your podcasts, hoping to get a closer look at this or that. You have so many fascinating objects to admire, I think I could spend hours touring your studio and never get bored. I especially loved the little antique plate with the mice on it. That autograph book, oh what a treasure to own, and your wedding dress is simply gorgeous! Thank you for inviting us in for a close-up tour of your happy place!
Thank you Renna! I am glad you were able to get a better look ;) I am lucky to have a dedicated space to create - wish I had even MORE time to spend there!
I know this is from 2019 but I cannot leave without saying how AWESOME your room is!! There are sooooo many beautiful & just straight up AMAZING pieces, both of storage & decor. I do dig seeing the pristine & modern crafty rooms (although, pink & too much white gags me a bit)... I LOVE the more eclectic, controlled chaos vibe that really gives you a deeper insight into the individual behind it. I also adore the fact you have special space for your furr-minions. Once upon a time I almost had a crafty room & I definitely had plans for the furry ones to have special areas. I would have to invest in the museum goo ... Honestly forget what it's called but it helps decor items stay in place, even against swatty felines. I have some of the most ungraceful cats I have ever had in my life (we're a crazy cat family so there have been many) so having anything decorative & breakable is asking for disaster, lol.
Aw thank you so very much! Actually I am planning on an update in the next few weeks. I have added a few more great antiques and changed things around. Since I retired almost two years ago I spend about 90% of my waking hours in here (and still with my two cats!) doing art, sculpting products and working on my Etsy shop. Ha! I know what you mean about keeping items safe (I think you were referring to BluTak) - I use that stuff for other things around the house as I'm lucky my furry family members are older and not too "swatty" anymore! Thanks again for your wonderful comment - I can't wait to receive a couple new-to-me items so I can do that updated tour! All the best to you and yours.
What a beautiful room! I love the old drawers and containers you use. I have a lot of trash to treasure stuff in my room that makes it better, but not as elegant as yours. :-)
Very beautiful room. It was very inspiring. I also love Victorian, but I'm sure you spent an arm and a leg for all of those pieces. You could be having a fortune there. Well done!!!
Thanks Sue! The only parts I really have to dust are the shelves over the desk - if you use the space constantly, the dust doesn't accumulate. I tend to move things around all the time so it makes it easier to keep clean and organized. Thanks so much for popping by and commenting! All the best.
Love your vintage finds and everything in your room 💕. Suggestion: Have you ever considered spray painting the gray color frames (not the clear drawers) on your plastic drawer units black or dark brown to make them antique-looking?
I'm a new subbie to your channel and I absolutely love your craft room. I have a question may I ask where you got those mini metal muffin tin charms, I've been looking for some for awhile and can't seem to find them?❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for visiting! I found those on Etsy years ago from a shop called HappyKawaiiSupplies... but I see they no longer stock the ones I have. I hope you can find some!
Ah daughter and I have been antiquing for at least 10 years if not more! Whenever we traveled we made sure to hit local antique shops and we attend antique shows here in the city whenever we can. She also has some great pieces in her home. Thanks so much for stopping by!
