From what I observed, United started their show during the 5-minute entrance period. During those 5-minutes, a band enters the competition field and sets up for their opening set. Even if a band starts to play or do some sort of pre-show, judges are not 'judging' anything during this time. At the 45 second mark, the announcer starts to introduce the band and their program. Once the 5-minute period is done, then you have the 8-minute field performance. A band has to stay a minimum of 5 minutes on the field and no more than the allotted 8 minutes. United was officially on the field for about 2.5 minutes. They started exiting the field with about 5:30 left on the performance clock. Normally, a band would be deducted one rating for going over or not spending enough time on the field. I think Beaumont Central back in 2002 was penalized this way. For it to be a DQ, I am not sure if something else happened. When ratings were announced, all that was said was "No Rating."
United starting early definitely is not a factor in the DQ because plenty of groups start before the announcement in the corps style world. While they would’ve been docked a rating they were on the field for 2.5 min which would have been adjudicated and given a rating. The DQ likely came from a paperwork issue, eligibility or director behavior issue.
How about you stop being disrespectful to this band, because this band has been through a lot of stuff this year. So of I were you, I would delete this comment, because that was very disrespectful what you said. How about your band get disqualified, because from what I heard, they never got disqualified from UIL. So keep your damn mouth shut. Talkin bout you glad they were disqualified. You should be ashamed

That is crazy that United was disqualified. I agree that before, the penalty was just that the final score was docked a rating.
aside from the stuff you commented i'm glad they were disqualified 😳.......

Why are you glad they were disqualified? Is it the students' fault they made a costly error?
