This is one of her biggest hits, this is an anthem ... beautiful piece of art from her master piece album (RAY OF LIGHT , 1998). This the second single of 5 beautiful songs (frozen, nothing really matters, the power of goodbye and substitute for love). It won the best video of the year (MTV music awards 1998). Thanks to reacted to this bro.... good choice!!!!. React to "THE GIRLIE SHOW TOUR 1993.)pleeeeeease!!!
In 1998 post Evita The Musical, people in the industry was starting to look at Madonna in a different perspective; she's been in the industry for 16 years when this album was released & she won her first Grammy for this album ❤️❤️😊
@@edflores7164 yes but for a concert video - never for an album or for a song. So never for her MUSIC. And even when they finally gave her that first grammy was for a concert tour considered the biggest pop concert tour extravaganza ever (at the time all critics were agreeing that none ever done something as good before) and she had already the 3 best selling albums by a female artist worldwide (by 1991 they were "True Blue", "Like a Virgin" and "The Immaculate Collection"). They kept written her off until they just really couldn't. With this album Madonna brought electronic music to the mainstream. The first single of this album was "Frozen" and with that one Madonna overcome Elvis as the artist with Most TOP 5 HITS in UK and got 2 more US TOP 5 Hits. They realize she was here for 16 years and wasn't going anywhere soon. Madonna was getting a bigger artist with each album (something none thought it would be possible). Now she even had already a Golden Globe for best actress, 2 songs performed by her won Oscars but still had zero Grammy's for her music (Grammy's would continue to lose credibility if they wouldn't give her an award for such a ground breaking album). This song was one of the biggest Billboard Dance tracks of the 90's being #01 on the Dance Club Charts for 4 weeks (most songs only stay on top of that chart for 1 or 2 weeks).
So wonderful to see you react to the ray of light video! You got it completely right about the meaning and that we often don't realize just how quickly life is passing Us by but this video really gives us that perspective. I believe this video one for video of the year on the MTV Awards as well and became the theme song for Microsoft around that time. It was a huge summer for Madonna in 1998 and this song really charged us all up! I'm sending you really big hugs!
Yes, Microsoft used to on WINDOWS XP ads in late 2001 or early 2002 - it became their best selling operating system ever. Here it is the 1 minute version of the commercial: ruclips.net/video/redTxFT-GLk/видео.html
Now you should watch the AMAZING performance of this song at Oprah. Probably her most incredible and breathtaking vocal performance. You will LOVE that 😍
I love Ray of Light it has become a timeless classic. The energy In her voice and the electronic beats synch perfectly with the high speed video. I love your insight and enthusiasm in all of your video reactions. Keep it going 🙏🏾❤️
Was surprised that you hadn’t reacted to this one yet. Yes, Ray Of Light was in The Confessions Tour but she doesn’t sing it often. She had to perform it in a lower register for Confessions as its one of her most vocally challenging songs. Her voice was at the top of it’s game during this album as she had just finished Evita, which she trained heavily for vocally.
After this album and song were released in 1998, magically every pop record playing on radio had an electronic influence for years to come. Before that, electronic music and pop were two complete different genres (and still are, but it is more common now to have one influencing the other thanks to this song and album).
This is probably my favorite song and video by Madonna. Def my favorite look for her. If you look closely the Twin Towers are in the vid recorded before 911. Def she’s on a mission to make you think. Awesome reaction 👏👏
That's an interesting take on the lyric that life in general goes by so quickly, but my main interpretation was that life is about spirituality; TRANSCENDING speed, matter, time; and that transcendence is associated with love and hope. The joy in this song and video, I believe are unparalleled. Music is my life, and I grew up with the best: Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Beethoven, Led Zeppelin, but THIS is still my favorite record I've ever heard. I'm jealous of anyone hearing the song for the first time; I remember the first time I heard it was when I was drunk in a deli buying beer and it was brand new, playing on the radio, and I thought "what is THIS ??" Turns out it was the song I'd enjoy and listen to more than any other in the world. Hats off to producer William Orbit and the original writers 50 years ago, and of course to Madonna for putting her voice and emotion in it. My God ... "quicker than a ray of light and gone, for someone else will be there, through the endless year ..."
This was directed by Jonas Akerlund, who directed 8 of her videos from this all the way up to God Control, and he also directed the Confessions Tour. He's also known for directing Lady Gaga's Telephone video and Taylor Swift's 1989 Concert film.
Hello, you are doing a great and professional review. I wanted to know your opinion about Viki Gabor, who is only 13 years old and promises to be a rising star of 2019, won the Eurovision for Children. her singles already have many million views, I recommend you to check out her new single.

What? Her vocals are fire in this song!
@@jerrybaena6161 hey different strokes for different folks. I don't like her vocals. Definitely that scream towards the end!
I just wanna take you to your first Madonna concert. Or at least be there to watch you as you experience it.
