This. I’ve given up on completing this game. I completed the original on PS1. But this is a fucking joke. The broken physics stop me every time. It pisses me off and they won’t fix it.
I literally uploaded a video on my twitter just now of my skateboard breaking and then Spyro deciding to give up so didn't get another board but the race is still going. Had to leave the portal and re enter.
Much better route to complete the course in 1st. Still reckon having to complete this and doing another boss challenge is pretty naff. I wonder if I’m the only player who prefers just collecting the gems in Gnasty’s Loot?
The physics in this race is just complete ass. It's utterly miserable to control. I eventually won after about an hour of resetting, but only because the frame rate suddenly went to hell and time slowed down for an entire race. I don't think I've ever been more glad to encounter a bug! :D
Here I was constantly dying to tricks because I thought I needed to do them for boost to win, dying over and over for almost an hour. Then I try your strat by ignoring trucks entirely and win on my 3rd attempt. I'm not sure if I'm happy that I finally completed it, or even more annoyed that the game was trolling me by encouraging me to do tricks. Either way, thank you!
I just did the twisted lemon trick once a lap which gives a full boost bar. At that point I just don't do a trick while I hold it down and easily won even though I died a few times.
@@jacobg8640 Same! And I believe the original ps1 version you did need to trick, but this one was too buggy so they made them slower. 2 of the Yetis just disappeared constantly in my game...
Thanks combining your route, tapping turbo a lot and being very aggresive to the yetis finally let me complete this. Really sad this minigame really sours the end of this game, I heard the ps1 version of this part isn't as bad, which might had to do with Activision rushing the fuck out of the game and that most of Spyro 3's minigames were remade by another studio and not Toys for Bob.
Thanks, great route and timings which I was able to use. If you can pull off the jump at the start with maxed out barrel rolls you get maximum boost, which you can then use on the upward slopes throughout the laps which makes this route even easier.

Keep getting stuck on ledges (instant restart required), skateboard despawning under me (costs you three places), respawning WITHIN opponents so skateboard instantly breaks again (instant restart required). This is the most buggy, trashy segment I've ever played, or even SEEN in and from a video game. Complete, unbridled, disgusting filth of a minigame.

Turbo-ed through all the stupid yeti cheaters, then just hit stars and any "safe" flips here and there to create as much space between me and them as i could and try not to die for the rest of the race. It's the only way i could consistently pass them and stay there.
Fr I gotta mute my headset after a while listening to that 🤦🏻♀️ no matter how much I spam the controls to get back to the race I still keep hearing him 😒
I do the whole spyro and then you wanna throw this dumb race at me it honestly should just be me getting rewarded for all what I did . Not me having to ask my man to do this level for me real quick thanks spryo it started off exciting ended up annoying. Dumb yeti hit me from the back and kept throwing me off the map
I managed to get a rocket a couple times, but found out that if you crash, you llose the rocket and have to get another one. Also the track physics are broken. I got hung up on a jump and got stuck to the point I had to reset the game. How is it they did such an amazing job on the rest of the entire game only to drop the ball here?
dude that happened to me too, took me one try to get the treasure no idea what happened bc i crashed and feel a bunch and never passed anyone but made it to first
I just collected gems, died several times, thought i would do race after, i was last and went through finish line and had won 😂 must have been a glitch
I did this not doing a single trick! Won in my 2nd try. I looked down and saw I was in 1st. Before the 2nd lap by the 3rd lap a yeti tried passing me but I hit him with my torpedo and won!

I did it after about 20 attempts... by pure chance one of the characters came uo behind me and pushed me... I ended up launching for about 3 seconds way ahead of 1st place

I managed to win just sticking to stars all other times. I think the rest of the course is too buggy to try tricks on, unlike the original. Luckily, I think it is easier than the original. Guess they knew they made a bad level remake, here.

I figured out the issue I was having is that I had the squid board cheat code on and the blue stars didn't affect my board so I was under the impression that they were gong to be used for like...a second race or something. I took on the skin and they suddenly worked.

It definitely was not easier. You had to boost consistency in the original, I remember flying around the course an insane amount. This time it's just broken.

So if it is shit, then it is because the makers literally almost died making the games. Also your beef is with toys for bob. They literally remade the levels, and left the level controls equally as shit as before. For the record, after I beat sorceress twice, I did not know that this level existed, lmfao.

I love that the reward for completely all the annoying minigame challenges to get 100% is more annoying minigames.
They were not that annoying... though I still have to get some of the skill points in the game.

honestly it was only this one that bothered me i like the submarine minigame and get rewarded all those gems at once was pretty satisfying.
I thought most of the mini games were okay for the most part. Only ones I couldn't stand were the speedways and these fucking skating ones lol

And I thought the skateboard race in Lost Fleet was torture.

I was so close to beating it, then suddenly spyro decided to do a half pipe. They should've separate racing mechanics from skating
Keeping Square pressed seems to make enemy AI bug. I suggest only pressing it when a boost is really necessary
