Hello guys! So this is how much I spend usually for the week here in Norway. I'm always trying to safe as much as possible because this is what I can afford with the current state of my RUclips channel. I don't spice my food and I don't like to spend too much time in the kitchen. I just throw everything together and I'm happy with it. If you have a normal paycheck and pay a bit of attention, you can buy a lot of food (doesn't matter what diet you follow). See ya in the next video!
Please keep making more content like this. It's really interesting to see the differences between countries and get a glimpse into everyday life there. Norway looks so pretty and peaceful! Sadly the price of food there is about the same as most stores here in US.
Thank you greeting from the north coast of California. man you have no idea how much I appreciate your content.I hope you and Luna are doing well you guys are fuckn awesome

This blew my mind that we eat the same exact foods! But I am in Chicago, IL of the USA. Love my morning smoothies, also dates, just everything you said I consume. Just odd but cool.
This is so inspiring! I recently started buying stuff from an Asian store, especially Udon noodles and soy sauce. Saving money means running around and searching for alternatives, but it's worth it! You and the Norwegian gf 🖤💜🖤 are doing a great job!
When I was in Norway eating meat and fish was cheaper than eating only vegetables. It was a lot cheaper even to eat fish, salmon is really cheap there. And raw milk is relatively cheap too. And eggs as well. I managed to cut my friends monthly expenses down by 30% even though he lived alone
A small tip; are you familiar with Kiwi's Fortsatt God basket? The price for what is in the basket is 9 NOK per kg no matter what it is. Kiwi has a basket with their produce where they put fruit and vegetables that are not perfect, often times all is still useable, or you remove a tiny bit and the rest is good to go. The trick is to get to know your local store and time it so that you are there around the time they fill up the basket. My local store does this around 9 - 9:30 every morning. Some days is it nothing other days it is a treasure trove of goodies. Today I found strawberries, raspberries, tomatoes, bell pepper, salad, melons, bananas, basil, and peaches.
This was a flash back for me !!! When I lived in Oslo back in 2009 I was in same situation but I used to smoke and half of packs of cigarettes where expensive. I'm planning to visit next summer. Cool channel 🤘🤘🤘
The most popular foreign food in Norway is Mexican. In fact Friday is Mexican food day in Norway (Taco Friday). Indian and Chinese is very popular too. Fajita and Burrito from Mexico, Chop Suey from China and Tandoori from India is my favorite foreign food. Greetings from Norway.
@@borist. Hehe. I forgot Turkish Kebab. Norwegians were all over Kebab for decades too. "Doner Kebab" is the real one, but sold at less places as it requires a bit more work to make.
@V3ntilator Yes that is true but with Australia on the map which close to Asian countries, Asian food are extremely popular. Like The U.S is close to Latino countries and Europe close to African and Middle Eastern countries. Their food are popular as well.
As an American looking to move to Norway I’ve always heard that EVERYTHING is prohibitively expensive. Luckily the groceries at least seem the same if not cheaper in some respects than in the United States. I didn’t find the prices to be ridiculous at all
Awesome video. Just spent a week in Bergen for beyond the gates and was absolutely astonished how expensive shit is compared to back home in australia. loved norway though

50 a week is generous, and yeah if you want to save as much money as you can. Eat whole plant based foods - basic staple foods like beans, rice, vegetables, potatoes etc are always the cheapest foods out there
Potato chips must have gone up everywhere, in Australia they have gone up about 45% usually about $3 now over $4:50 close to $5 so I don't buy anymore. I have to try rice cakes with dates and PB now. I make a big pot of veggie stew once a fortnight and freeze some of it that saves heaps. Add rice or noodles when serving.
It´s quite expensive not only in Moss but all over Norway, how ever, this video show that it it possible to find some cheap alternatives. At least the salary is not to bad here in Norway so its possible to survive and much more, thanks for the video :D
Woah - expensive. But you’re clearly very frugal and know where to find the bargains. Was very impressed by this - makes my spending look terrible. I must try to live by your example!
I didn't even know you're vegan like myself. I actually shop at our local asian market in my town college station in Texas and spend about $33 at most. That much food lasts me about two weeks depending on how much I cook. The most expensive thing they have there are the noodles, which can go up to $5-8 USD.
Wow, your Prices are really expensive! It's really insane how the prices go up amd up, and sometimes especially for vegan Sausage and meat. So thank you for this Video! 🤟
I would try this in Switzerland but I'd starve and be sober. Also I do weightlifting so with 50 bucks in Switzerland you can forget even the cheapest meat.
As a mushroom lover in the states I actually started to grow my own and with a little startup investment it is actually extremely cheap and easy since you can use mostly waste products and whatever grains are cheapest in your area. You will have more fresh delicious mushrooms than you know what to do with. If you have a little free space for a plastic tub give it a try sometime! There's great tutorials all over the place!
Foraging is also a popular option here in Norway. You can spend a week or two in summer/autum and fill your freezer with all the mushroom and berries you can eat in a year.
I really recommend getting things that aren't packaged. They cost a lot less of the packaged stuff. And you get fresh produce. Get a bag of potatoes already packaged, 40 kr. Pick out the potatoes yourself, 10 kr/Kg.
This was really interesting to see the prices as I would be buying the same sorts of thing here in Nova Scotia. You can’t beat a good banana smoothie. I actually add spinach to mine, so funny when I saw you buy some.
