I ordered one of these from my guy back in December, and just got it a few weeks ago in June. It's worth the $140. I haven't seen anything else like it out there, and if you want to learn how to use the scope, this is what I'd get. Way easier than having to access everything on a real car for learning the concepts.

What if I don't have a "guy" with a truck? I'm not a mechanic in a dealership or some such, only an electronics/laptop hobbiest, soon fixer (I hope). I work with Microcontrollers (the heart of ECM and other modules) and am very interested in getting as much test equipment I can.

You get drawn in by the sweet smell of new shiny tools and end up paying for the rest of your life! 😁😁 I did a search on the net using the number you provided, but got nothing that I could purchase. Would the signal produced by this for the ABS test be powerful enough to use as a signal generator to test an ABS circuit on a car ? PS keep up the good work ! Regards Steve
It should work. Another way I've been using is to jump the connector of a known good wheel to the suspect bad wheel connector and see if it generates speed on live data then.

My final question regarding this is that do you think maybe the cable can be homemade? The manual says "plug the RCA type cable" and I found on internet that it is a RCA cable with ground and power cables, does not look thing special. What do you think? I am just thinking out loud.

My Snap-On tool rep said the waveform simulators were discontinued.

Useful training tool.Snap On do a cheaper version, but unsure if it does CAN, Perhaps you could do reviews on similar tools.

I think there are other options if you search around. I’m not in a ‘workshop’, I looked up the local snap on dealer and met him in his round 😁
