It's been my experience that a new artist just starting out, if one is lucky enough to get a producer who is known in the music community, can run you $2500 and upward just to get one song produced. That's a lot of moola for someone starting out. I'm glad you had various avenues to look for a producer. Thank you!
It's true! It can cost a lot of money and, honestly, rightfully so. Music producing can take a lot of work, time and energy and it says a lot when someone charges what they are worth. :)

i suspect some of these producers are feeding from their long gone glory by overpricing their work. that grammy producer maybe got their award 30 years ago, not being very relevant anymore.
Thanks for this! I feel like my genre is changing and I'm not entirely sure what I am or could be. I suppose I'm "singer songwriter" but I love dance music and rock and find that it influences me, as well. So, sometimes my songs are somewhat different than just needing a traditional arrangement. I want to experiment and need some help understanding what certain songs of mine could work with more eclectic production, as I'm kind of all over the place with the way I write (some rap, some dance, some rock style...) I have produced my own music before, but I find I'm limited now in skill for what I'd like to grow into or experiment with. I figure this would be something a producer would help me understand, but after hearing your comment about finding producers within my genre, I wonder if maybe I need to somehow figure this out on my own first? I'm just kind of unsure how to define myself but I also like that about my music. Any videos or tips about that? Also, I haven't worked with him (or any professional producers) but I would love to work with Gryffin!! Also Matt Bellamy from Muse and Brian Wilson. Thanks again!

I'd love to be a producer however I think I am definitely more of a composer. I am thinking of getting into selling instrumentals. I might get a producer though for my next record but I just released so yeaaahhh 😅 Totally agree with the whole getting what you pay for thing. Goes for many creative industries really. 5 star work attracts a 5 star price 😂
Yup! Much agreed! Selling instrumentals could be a good side avenue too for practice purposes (then you can save the realllly good stuff for your own work! 😉) Love hearing from you and hoping all is well!
@@JonathanMillerMusic Yes, things are good on my end man, today is my birthday so I'm having a good day :) Just trying to promote my new album right now. I might have a lead for some airplay on a local radio station! Could be interesting. 😂

I got a problem and I can't find a video addressing it. I didn't fully read my Beatstars contract. Sooooooo, I didn't credit the producer on my song release and it's already in stores. I also didn't split the revenue as stated in the contract. I'm unsure what's gonna happen. Help?? 😭❤️🔥
You're going to need to contact a lawyer honestly for help with that. Or potentially take it down from stores and re-distribute. I'm not a lawyer but I'd definitely say it's important to read everything! haha Best of luck!

I actually just answered this question so I'm gonna copy what I wrote to a couple other people 😁: Google AdWords and RUclips Ad Revenue are two separate things, actually! :) You can always use AdWords to direct people to buy your song if you'd like but your ad revenue on RUclips is completely separate from that. :) Google AdWords is a service where you pay for advertising. You don't receive money from that. Ads on RUclips are paid for from their own partners where they run on select videos that have monetization enabled. That money generated is split between RUclips and the rights holders (ie music). So 20% goes to music rights holders, 40% goes to RUclips and the remaining goes to the account holder who has ads enabled on their video. I'm not the best expert at this specific topic but I'm sure you can find some great videos here on RUclips where that is explained in more detail! :D

Hey Jonathan I was wondering 💭 why albums always have to be in one disc and I don’t know 🤷♂️ why album 💿 like u2 Achtung baby and feeder polythene always have to be on cd 💿 disc same that goes with new kids on the block face the music 🎼 and song structure is just intro, verse 1,2,chorus,bridge,collision,and outtro but I don’t know 🤷♂️ why does every song 🎵 starts at 0:00?
Those videos are coming next month. I'm really trying to do some research on those topics since I don't live in those countries, myself. I want to make sure that the information is accurate. If you're ever wanting to know what videos I have planned you can join me on Patreon where I post my monthly RUclips Calendars at the end of the preceding month. :) You can check that out here: www.patreon.com/jonathanmiller
Not necessarily. You'll have to file a DMCA request with RUclips. Sometimes videos can stay up with copyrighted music but they may not be able to run ads on it. A lot of people just file a copyright claim with RUclips and then collect the money that way but allow the video to stay up because it also increases exposure for the song :)
I do! For one album, I worked with another producer, however. :) I still had pretty much full creative control however so it was more like co-producing 👍🏼
