- I litterally fell in love with this beauiful and delicate traditional chinese song.
Thanks to my friend Karena that gave me the chance to know it and to the chinese teacher Hu that "spreads" those beautiful songs to her students.

Kyle Hamilton well mandarin is chinese just simplified were Cantonese is chinese traditional so i believe it is mandarin tho or simplified chinese but im not 100% positive

Yes, it's a love song. It talks about a blacksmith's son falling in love with a woodcutter's daughter, in the town of Kangding. The song only enters recorded history in the 1940s, but it's thought to at least date to a few decades before that, when the town was first called Kangding (it was called Dajianlu before that). The song only has a few verses, aside from the chorus, but the lyrics are actually quite beautiful, even in translation.
