- Sudan's army is setting up more training camps as it battles the Rapid Support Forces paramilitary.
The conflict has displaced millions of people and caused widespread destruction.
Al Jazeera’s Hiba Morgan reports from a training camp in Omdurman where women have been signing up.

Isn't that what happened in Ukraine, as the conscription drained much of the formal "fighting age" men? Ukraine moved the goalpost recently by _lowering_ the minimum age for conscription. The Myanmar junta reportedly started conscripting the Rohingya, the folks they were intent on exterminating earlier on.

All women should know how to protect themselves and their families, men and women should encourage this without fears. Basic survival knowledge is important for everyone! I do not condone killing, but if someone is trying to kill you or loved ones, it is important to do what you can to protect yourselves!
From an Eritrean woman, it can be done. 30% of our soldiers in the 🇪🇷 liberation struggle were women. This is how it started & I am eternally grateful to them. 🙏
