this video is a horrible response sorry. i agree on your second point partially, but children as she says later in that video. Kids associate color with an item like telling someone to get the “red block” If the blocks are all the same damn color, their not going to learn the color and just the item named “block”. also shes not implying beige is a bad aesthetic. its just when parents prioritize their stupid lil aesthetics over their children. there was a tiktok of slmeone painting a christmas tree for her KIDS. beige. and painting their kids rooms like a mental hospital rubber room. It is not okay.
also 4:50 is valid. Its so obvious the kids were the second thiught because the teacher clearly cares more about the colors being as dead as their personality than the learning development of the kids.
5:48 she is literally also talking about children. NOT ADULTS. It’s about CHILDREN. trying to change the narrative is not looking good. Children NEED color. PERIOD.
I think you seem to have misunderstood me a little bit, i forgot to mention this in the video (so sorry). But, I am speaking more hypothetically - IF a child already KNOWS their colors (they can name most if not all without having to recognize them between the variety of the other colors), then simply having a more biege or beige-like enviornment will most likely not be a big deal for them. I do agree with you about the parents though, its sad to see parents prioritize their OWN lifestyle, aesthetics over their children.
On the bit about the classroom... it's a learning environment. It's where kids learn and absorb the basic building blocks of their early development. Yes, it's still obviously a place to learn in. But it's not going to be very engaging and encourage the kids to learn in, there's no posters with colours to draw them in and question their surroundings. Nothing there sparks their curiosity. It's like a doctors office to them, which bores them. The teacher didn't do it to a 'fair extent', the classrooms pencils were fitting the entire beige aesthetic - which isn't encouraging the child to be creative at all. I understand your point about it being calming, but these kids aren't meant to be falling asleep, their brains are meant to be activated to learn. I see the points you made, I'm not attacking you, but children need colour to help them associate things and put two and two together. Like, if the teacher tells them to draw an apple, their colouring pencils don't come in red, only in beige. The teacher's limiting a lot with her 'aesthetic'
Just because kids are allowed their own supplies doesn't mean that the teacher shouldn't help push their creativity, instead of just showing them different shades of the same color. None of the teacher's decor indicates that they are really teaching anything at all. They could put up number charts and kids' drawings to make it a better learning environment, but this teacher is obviously designing this room to look like the (very sad) rooms in her own home. Color is a must have in any stage of a child's development, even if they know the colors already. just because beige exists in the world doesn't mean other colors don't, that same argument could go for any of the colors not in her room. I get overstimulation, but a few pops of color is not going to prompt a panic attack. Sorry for yapping, I get your side of the narrative, but at the same time it does not hold any weight in my opinion.
@@notreally-ew1ud The thing is that teacher's room had color to it, and had some neat items in it, it was pretty cute and pretty imo(yes, the room obviously had alot of beige colors to it, but it wasnt completely "lifeless" like alot of people claim, it still had nice designs, smooth pink color, etc). Yes, children need color, but just having one classroom have a different aesthetic, wont harm anyone either. Im sure the teacher(depending on the grade level) still goes goes over(teaches) the large variety of colors in one way or another. Kids do see color all the time in their enviornment, such as at parks, malls, stores, etc. Im basically trying to say, just because one room has a different aesthetic style, doesnt necassarily mean it will have a big impact on childrens' memorization, perspective, etc on other bright ordinary colors. I never meant it to come off as "other colors dont exist other than beige", sorry if i misleaded you there. There is research that suggets overstimulation CAN cause anxiety, panic attacks, which i personally go through quite often myself. In all, i see where you and other people are coming from, i get your points, trust me. Its just that it seemed to me as if Hayley really didnt take other factors into consideration, thats why i made this vid. She has decent points, but those can also be debunkable if you consider the unmentioned.
Again I see your point, but it’s not her job to include all sides of the argument, and even if the teachers are teaching the colors, if a classroom has only one color or a few shades of the same colors, it dulls creativity. My point isn’t that the teacher shouldn’t have any dull or earth tone colors, I am just saying that contrast in a child’s surroundings is crucial to a child’s development and creativity. I’m done with this back and forth though because it’s obvious that you need validation with the way you think, and I will not provide that. Still no hate though
@@notreally-ew1udNo offence, but i dont "need validation" to seem superior in a argument. I LIKE to argue about topics, because i like debunking and talking about certain arguments. I am just someone who generally likes to argue about topics. I am not trying to be egotistical or self-absorbed or anything like that, if thats what you are getting.
