The reason of saying 'hu' as they are saying in the song BOL "HU", is that it refers to the presence of God. So by "BOL HU" they mean "Say It is God". Hu means God in Arabic and Urdu as well.
So this song's meaning basically is based on the fact that Allah owns our inner self and we need to know our "self" too.

That instrument is called dambora from hazara community in Pakistan and aslo the beautiful cap.
