- The Dad Rail Community Model Railway project is coming together, and we now have a plan! Following the live stream where we designed the model railway track layout using the AnyRail software, discissions and amendments have happened and we now have a revised plan, and I for one cant wait to see OO gauge model trains running around this model railway.

You’re a breath of fresh air. Love it! Can’t wait to see how you get on.
Thanks so much Andrew. It’s been a long time planning so I’m really looking forward to getting some track down and seeing this trains running.
love the living room!
Thanks :-)
Hi Richard, track plan looks good, I wouldn't fancy putting it together and breaking that down too often once the scenery is on it, good luck with the build, looking forward to it progressing 👍🏼
Guessing the fishy surprise is based on something in Shenfield.
You guessed it
I'd be tempted to have platform 1 country end as loop rather than dead end. Gives a little more flexibility
I see the merit but fitting In the S&C becomes the issue. I did contemplate on having the cripple siding joined to platform 1 at the country end to create a run round loop
@@DadRail good point! Something I overlooked 🙈
looks amazing so far, cant wait to see it be built
In terms of the "less is more" idea, it's ok for permenant attic layout and the like but for Exebitions people want variety and excitement, which is something your absolutely going to get from this layout. If the aggregates terminal idea doesn't come to fruition, maybe try a nuclear flask area like the one seen at Bridgewater. Really looking forward to this getting built 👍
Thanks for the feedback. A Nuclear terminal is a good idea, I shall keep that in mind
My advice go with N or TT!
One of the main reasons for going OO is that my youngest son is Autistic and his fine motor skills are not the best, therefore OO will be easier for him to enjoy. TT would be the perfect compromise but it’s still too early for me at the moment. I’d like to see a lot more manufacture’s in the space. It’s certainly something to watch over the coming years.
richard nice layout
Thanks
Awesome looks good 😊
Nice one Richard
How you seen Colin Furze, he has been quite industrious in creating more room, of course getting that past the wife.....😅
Once a year? well tell your wife its ok, Have it up and working on the first of January and take it down say the 24th December. Thats just once you have had it out
I like it a lot! I’m going to put that to her when I get home 😂
How about a tiny halt station on the branch line?
I am not sure with the length of the branch if that would be practical, but a good idea. Once the track is down its something worth looking at
Add a turntable and engine shed above fiddle yard off the branch line set off behind station
