    the V6 version's pump is almost impossible to get out due to the brackets.

    Without a lift, this looks like it could be pretty challenging since access is tight.

    I just changed the pressure hose and it's a pain to put back in, and now the fluid still leaking. I quess the pump is the problem.

      I had the pressure switch leaking, thought it was the pump. Changed switch, now I have a spare pump .

      Cant recall, but usually only 1 per sealing surface, maximum 1 on each side of the high pressure line end fitting.

    The line into the pump is installed incorrectly. If you notice any where the banjo bolt goes into the pump the line has a nub that locks the line in place where it slides in facing the passenger side. You have it facing up putting extra tension on the line. It won’t last long

      @TrentsOvertimeGarage  11 месяцев назад

      Not sure what you're seeing, but you can see it is installed the same way as before the new pump. Also been running great for the last 2 years.

      @@TrentsOvertimeGarage the end of the pressure line that is connected to the pump itself with the banjo bolt. There is a nub that fits into a slot on the pump.

    Did you have to remove the engine motor mount on top?? Or can it be done without taking them off?? Thanks in advance for your help!

    did you spin the new pump to see whether it had the same resistance? I have seen this before in hydraulic motors and pumps where you cannot turn them by hand.

    What’s the trick to getting that bolt in the back of the power steering pump

    • @TrentsOvertimeGarage
      @TrentsOvertimeGarage  Год назад +1

      One trick I’ve found is to use longer extensions, and reach from farther away because it puts some flex in the angle of your socket.

    Just changed the line and I’m saying a prayer for those in the future worst repair I’ve ever done anyways
    Power steering was working but leaking from the high pressure line at the fitting I changed the line. And everything was perfectly working for 5 minutes then complete lost of power but no leaks… do I need to reset something? I’m at a loss never had that happen before.

      Not sure what could be wrong without seeing or more detail. No reset required. Pressure switch?

    Do you need a pulley puller

    • @TrentsOvertimeGarage
      @TrentsOvertimeGarage  Год назад

      Yes if you buy the pump without the pulley. I believe you can get it with or without.

    HE has 2 washers on one side of banjo instead of 1 on each side

    • @TrentsOvertimeGarage
      @TrentsOvertimeGarage  2 года назад +2

      Good eye, that would be wrong. You need one on each side of the high pressure hose fitting. I believe that is just an optical illusion, but I can check that on my friends car, thanks for pointing it out!

    How much would this cost

    • @TrentsOvertimeGarage
      @TrentsOvertimeGarage  2 года назад +3

      Depends if you do the hoses with it, but just the pump would be about 2 hrs labor. Your shop will be about $60-$120/hr, dealers always on the higher end.
