Note:
Track 1 could have been set to 1, but there was no need. Track 5 could have been set to 2, but Free did the trick just fine. As long as the looper knows what the settings are, that's all that matters.

you ever have them refuse to stop the loop and flash for more measures even when they're all on free?
Yes definitely! By default it seems like the loop station will stick to the most common combinations of loop lengths, 1 measure, 2 measure, 4 measure etc. so when I have to do something atypical like 3 measures I make sure to explicitly set it.

On the boss rc 505. What if I wanted a sound to produce every eight measures then change to 4 measures of a song.
If you have the setting on Free, can you recite say a 2 minute poem on Track 1?

I'm curious to know how you take advantage of track effects. Is it possible to record a part, then add a track effect, then record that affected part back onto the loop. Then use a different set of track effects?

I have a couple of trouble shooting errors which I am having with my 505, I wonder if you could shed some light on!
1: I can’t seem to get mine to stay within the limits of whatever measures I set each track on. When set on free it’s fine, but if I choose to set a track on 4 measures, the 505 seem to overplay into more measures instead of the settings of 4 measures. Why is this?

Thanks for the question and I'm sorry you're having trouble.
Sometimes I'd get tripped up, because the way the 505 counted measures wasn't what I expected.
Here's what I'd do: With nothing saved on a channel, I'd make a simple beat on Track 1 for 1 measure. Track 1 could be set to Auto, Free, or 1 measure for this - doesn't matter.
After verifying the 505 made it 1 measure, I'd then set Track 2 to be 4 measures. After it begins recording, the loop should "start over" after said 4 measures. Let me know if that doesn't work!
Moral of the story: I've found it WAY easier to set short lengths first and then define longer loops based off those. I almost never set measures anymore and when I do, the first one is usually a measure to make sure things scale the way I want them to.

Howzit, omg my Rc 505 is freaking out! Loop sync and tempo sync is on but it doesn’t loop over if i setup track measure? Eg: if i want to loop 1bar it doesn’t click over until i press the button, it used to just click over as per my measure setting!

I'm having an issue where I set the measure to 4 bars then as soon as I tap to record it automatically changes it to 1 bar. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
I've heard of this issue before but I don't know how to fix it. I don't have any great idea other than a factory reset. That may be a BOSS support question :/
