Miguel looked nothing like his old character and introduced himself in a way that made K assume that he was either going with another character or memory wipe, so he played along. Miguel was trying to upcharge K for the weed drying racks the first time they even talked, so it is pretty disingenuous to make it seem like it was one sided. I don't have feelings about Hydra or their members one way or another, but it is a weird way for them to spin it.
