For those who dislike the ending. Good! This story is not meant to have a happy ending. It is a warning. Question those in power. Do not blindly follow, lest you find yourself worse off than before. The pig's faces changed at the end because they had broken each commandment that had been written during the revolution. They had taken the place of the farmer, that previous generations had fought to overthrow, then they had become the farmer they had once preached against. This is the first time I've heard this story. It was talked about when I was in school, but was not mandatory. If it is mandatory now, that is great. Make sure you heed it's lessons well. Or we ourselves could be those animals, looking through the window at those we put in power as they profit from our labor. In fact, I might say, it's already begun.
The ending isn’t even terrible, it was interesting, endings like these are the kind I like. Shows that nothing is perfect. In my opinion the ending was really great. Shows the cycle how a rebellion will eventually come to its origin place.
I know right! I've never seen such a bright and chipper ending to such a dark and depressing story. "things never had been, nor ever could be much better or much worse - hunger, hardship, and disappointment [are], so he said, the unalterable law of life." Said Benjamin the donkey. [cue the cute and happy ding ding of music!] Thank you for reading this wonderful book! ^_^
But it's reality. George Orwell was commenting on the state of present day Russia and on the state of our affairs as humans. No human government is without corruption. Where is the happy emding today?
The book is meant to represent political life as it is. There is no good ending because of all the corruption in government. It is a comment on the Russian revolution and the state it left Russia in. Orwell is saying that they still have not achieved what they dreamed of. It's just reality.
Bro.. seeing “Muriel was dead; Bluebell, Jessie, and Pincher were dead. Along with Snowball was forgotten. Boxer was forgotten. Nearly made me cry This book is about the same messed up as neon genesis evangelion
Arvas Dreven it was unsatisfying to just say that the pigs are now the same as humans, All I know is that it should have been different, more interesting like a loop of the rebellion writing that Benjamin could have been the new old major or some thing, or like leaving it off with the beasts of England song starting a rebellion of “this time do it right”. I was just disappointed with all the build up just to end like that
KZ-97 MX & ATV It’s based on the Russian revolution, and the pigs didn’t turn into humans they just resembled them in the windows so that there’s no difference. Orwell is showing that there’s not a big difference The capitalist west and the communist East
Personally I like the ending it came like full story that they wanted to stay away the humans but now they realize that they actually love the luxury of it so it’s a very interesting ending that every ending doesn’t has to be a very happy ending
I don’t quite like the narrator. He doesn’t seem to know how to pronounce some of the words or names, like sow (he pronounced sew instead of with the ow sound like in ouch). A female pig is a sow not a sew. Minor thing, but annoying when listening to a production.

Napoleon: Standing on two legs
Me: You became the very thing you swore to destroy!
You were the chosen one! You were meant to destroy Mr. Jones not join him!
Bring freedom to the animals, not leave them in darkness!
I HATE YOU
You were my brother Napoleon. I loved you!
Bro old major is fucking turning in his grave as Napoleon becomes more and more like the farmers
My boy Boxer
RIP boxer
Thank you very much for the audio book.
I’m so pissed at the ending of the damn book.
Ikr it made me confused, but angry.

This singlehandedly carried me through the first book of my Sophomore year, thank you!
"decent book, bad ending" 7/10 -IGN

Not satisfied with the ending but i was at least hoping for the other animals to fight back.
If only Old Major was still alive and the leader... But great book, I loved it.
thanks a lot now my english grade went from a C+ to an A
😂
Y’all were expecting this to end well? 💀 the book was written long before communism fell
i was supposed to write a 5 paragraph essay but i haven't finished the book.
its like joseph stalin
it is. the novel allegorises russian revolution of 1917, with old major representing karl marx and napoleon representing Stalin, and more
It IS about Joseph Stalin.
that was one heck of an annoying ending but i like it at the same time
Thank you so much, this helped me a lot!
The government is watching.
Absolutely cooked on media literacy if you don't like/ understand the ending

I wonder if Andy Serkis' version will have this ending or give into a more hopeful ending like the other two adaptations do.
thank you so much, i have a test tmr and was on chapter 7

An accurate one
what. the. fuck.

If I wasn’t forced to read this book I would have enjoyed it more, but that ending was so dumb a child could have written it. so 6/10 in my opinion
Little late to the party, but what was it you disliked about the ending?

Personally I thought the ending was very interesting. In fact, I thought it was haunting.

Please! Bon mot is pronounced " bon moh" . The t is silent because it's French! Narrator should know this.
God that's a horrible AI voice.
