Excellent! One potential disadvantage of handling a dog with tweet and come in, is in competition a handle as a tweet and cast is typically judged more favorably relative to tweet, come-in---tweet-cast. Both are valuable training tools (tweet-come-in--tweet-cast) (tweet-cast). In most rulebooks, once the handler starts to handle, he needs to handle directly to the bird and tweet-cast handles directly to the bird, tweet-come-in-tweet-cast does not.
Most trainers in the Mike Lardy school use tweet-cast or tweet-nick-tweet-cast much more frequently than tweet-recall-tweet-cast. The Lardy school is to stop and cast when dog makes the wrong decision in the water, so letting a dog swim to land is giving permission in the dogs mind to swim to land and is unfair training, instead tweet and cast when the the dog makes the wrong decision in water....a different training perspective. Tweet-cast while the dog is in the water has several potential teaching advantages: 1) dogs live in the moment, and the cast to inform the dog the correct route is much sooner than a tweet-recall-tweet-cast. 2) recalling after allowing a dog to swim to land can send a mixed message...first swimming to land was the correct decision (because no handler intervention), then being on land was the wrong location (because of the handler recall). 3) Most dogs are easier to handle on water with one cast instead of a handling battle to recall from land to water, swim back in, then cast. Teaching on marks via handling is ideal when one cast informs the dog of the wrong decision and the correct route.

I don’t throw marks in front of holding blind. KRD has a blind in front of the holding blind. Do that one sparingly and use only a white bumpers.
