What fun! Delighted to share the thrill that you and Tanya enjoy getting around Scotland. Fifty years ago I traveled in a VW bus from the 60s with the simplest of camping gear. Saw the United States and eastern Canada with my wife. Have lots of wonderful memories but that was before I began painting after retirement. Now we take driving tours in a minivan but stay at hotels and I record the experience with photos and watercolor paintings. Thank you, Bob
Hi Bob, Glad you enjoyed the little trip around Aberfeldy. Your trip in the 60s must’ve been amazing. The most important thing is doing it, you don’t need the most fancy campervan to do that. Ours was made in 1999 so pretty old for a campervan now. Pity you didn’t do Watercolour back in the 60s that would’ve been an amazing record of your trips. Glad that you’re painting your trips now. I find it does make your adventures much more interesting. Thanks for watching. Best wishes, James
Hi Lyn, It was a lovely place and if the weather had been kinder it would’ve been amazing. However, that’s the Scottish weather for you. Next time !!! Best wishes, James
Hi Joan, Glad you enjoyed that video. Scotland really is a beautiful place and I’m very proud to show it off. I’ll be doing much more travelling around Scotland soon so I hope you enjoy that. Thanks for watching. Best wishes, James
Hi Victoria, Glad you enjoyed the countryside. It was beautiful if a bit damp. The music was played and recorded entirely by my brother, which was nice. I think that’s called , keeping it in the family! Thanks for watching. Best wishes, James
i live in very sunny Australia, often too sunny and hot, so I love seeing the Scottish countryside and sometimes wishing for some cool weather. I'm an ex-pat brit fom Yorkshire and get homesick sometimes . I love your paintings very much and as an amateur artist am learning heaps from your videos. Thankyou James and Tania.Susan
Hi Susan, A little bit of Australian Sun does sound good to me at the moment! It’s funny how we want what we don’t have. We have lots of Scottish adventures planned this year and also heading down south, so I hope you find the time to watch those and enjoy the scenery. I very pleased that you’re learning so much from my videos. It does keep me motivated to know that people are finding them useful. Thanks for watching. Best wishes, James
Hi Gerald, Glad you enjoyed our trip. It was a little damp, but it was worthwhile to discover this beautiful area. Hopefully I’ll be passing through Hampshire on a painting trip in the summer. Best wishes, James
Thank you James for sharing your road trip, shame the weather was against you. Treat it as a scouting mission for your return when you can paint. Cheers Steve
Hi Steve, We did enjoy our trip. We didn’t manage to do a painting video, but I did work out in other ways, especially in discovering the area, I’ll be back in the summer. Best wishes, James
Loved your journey James, pity about the weather. Sorry we couldn’t make the exhibition, We walked in the rain today to Aberfoyle and loved it under a brolly, before we return home to Lincolnshire tomorrow. Looking forward to your next paintings so much.
Hi Jim, Hope you enjoyed your trip to Scotland. You came out a particularly wet time! Which is sort of standard for Scotland! Can’t wait for better weather I hope your trip back to Lincolnshire goes well. we are planning a trip to Norfolk in the summer. Best wishes, James

Love touring in our camper finding new painting locations. Did the west coast up to Skye last year, but after your trip it has given us a taste of what the east coast can offer. Looking forward to seeing for ourselves. Thanks for another great video.
Hi Mike, We were both really bolled over by the beauty of the Aberfeldy area. It really did have the feel of the Highlands. There is lots to see on the east side, the Fife coast is great and the coast of Aberdeen is also really good. Lots to see Best wishes, James
I did enjoy watching your camper van tour the weather might not be on your side but you can't beat that scenery Hope you got lots of inspiration Enjoy yourselves and thank you
Hi Alison, It was a very nice trip, just a little bit on the damp side, but that’s Scottish weather for you! It was very inspiring, and I did spot quite a few compositions for when the weather is better. We shall return. Best wishes, James
Hi Zip, There were really nice spots there. I was imagining quite a few shots with a high horizon as there was so much in the foreground. I will return when the weather gets better. Best wishes, James

Hi Anermil , Glad you enjoyed the little journey we had. Scotland is an awesomely beautiful country and over the next few months I’ll be showing lots more of it. Camping is a wonderful way of getting out and seeing the world. Sometimes it can be quite challenging, but the benefits of it far outweigh that. I hope you can give it a go, it is amazing! Good to hear from you as always. Best wishes, James
I enjoy seeing your travels almost as much as I enjoy watching you paint. thank you for sharing with us. I have a request for maybe a possible future video? In this current video, you took one of your paintings to a gallery and it made me think, It would be interesting to see more of the paintings you've done, either on location in the galleries or at your studio, if you wouldn't mind sharing them with us in another video sometime.
Hi Bailey, Glad you enjoyed the travels. I hope to do much more of these travel videos, as Scotland is such an awesomely beautiful place. That’s a good idea about showing some of the paintings in my house, most of them are oil paintings, but it will be interesting to have a discussion about them. Thanks for watching, Best wishes, James
What a beautiful places you've shown. I hope it gave some good inspiration for painting. Maybe not on the spot, but you can take some photos and paint that at home.
Hi Wim, Glad you enjoyed the journey, It was very inspiring for me, even though I didn’t do any painting. It makes me want to have some wonderful adventures in hopefully better weather. I will be doing a sketch and then taking it home to the studio for a painting. Somehow I find it a little bit more tricky to do it that way, but I hope you enjoy that video when it comes out. Thanks for watching. Best wishes, James
Hi Elin, Glad you enjoyed the scenery. It was a lovely place and I’m looking forward to getting back there in good weather. Haven’t tried painting from the van yet but I’m sure I’ll give it a go one day. Thanks for watching. Best wishes, James

Hi Joanne, Glad you enjoyed it. We had a good trip overall, but if the weather was better it would’ve made it amazing! That’s Scotland for you. Looking forward to some big painting trips in the Scottish highlands. Best wishes, James
Hi Sara, It really was a beautiful place, but the weather was so dull, damp and rainy. I really look forward to getting back there on a nicer day. I’m sure it’s possible to paint in the van, I haven’t tried it yet I’m sure I will. Really looking forward to good weather now! Best wishes, James
Hi Phoebe, It was very beautiful, however, very damp and dull conditions, not the best for painting! I don’t have a special camera, just a special wife!😂 Best wishes to you both. James
