- Another quick set made entirely on KORG Electribe 2 (synth version) overlapped with some random footage from my disk. This time with more of a classic jungle vibe.
Big thanks to that special someone for helping me master this.
Hiya! I'm a big fan of the E2 synth in general and I love seeing creative uses of it. This is an incredible set! Really love the atmospheric sounds and pads especially - they can be challenging to create on the E2. Love this!
Oh… 10.49 in… sounds like apache break
Sooo good
superb electribe skills! really fantastic music here!
This absolutely slaps, great job
so fire
Great set! Makes me think hard about getting an ESX.
Absolutely incredible. One reason I got the sampler version was cause I couldn't figure out how to get jungle-like breaks with the synth version.
You've done very well here and a whole 30 min set, insane.
thank you! let me know if you want to know anything in particular. It took me few years of playing with this to get some kind of presentable result
@@lb5tr i have had an electribe 2 synth for about two years now, sampler for a few months. I only doodle a few hours a month. Don't have anything particular to ask, I know I need to practice more. I'm kinda trying to actively build a workflow but end up just doing random stuff and building a track pretty linearly, pattern by pattern.
My biggest hurdle is working around the 4 bar limit. I like to record melodies and chords in live, with some help from the gate arp; bumping up against the end of the pattern is annoying. Of course a lot can be done with 1-4 bar phrases and I guess song arrangement is the real tricky part, but to keep it fun I wish I could just record more bars in one go.
When re-creating a couple of semi popular house/ dance tracks, 4 bars at a time has been enough and I was really happy with sound of the end result.
nice buena recreación de breakz !
Nice
Amazing!
Круто! Спасибо!
This is by far the best dnb I’ve heard made with one singular device
It’s my kind of dnb also
Minimal dark and futuristic
If I didn’t know what the video was, I’d be thinking I was listening to a metalheadz production
Well done mate
Btw, I came across this video cause I’m choosing between electribe 2 and Roland mc101 or mc303 or Novation circuit tracks
You maybe have sold me the electribe
Are all the sounds and fx on this recording from the electribe? Or are they uploaded samples
Thanks for the kind words.
This is electribe synth version, it doesn't support any way to use custom samples, therefore it's all stock sounds.
I never used mc101 or any other gear you mentioned, but e2 is great in that it allows for a lot sound design and sculpting with just stock synths/samples filters and effects.
I don't want for anyone to make any purchase decision based on my videos, I kind of regret uploading them while mentioning the gear used because it makes me look like a salesman, which I'm not.
You'll like Mista Bishi then. Try his video 'Dog god', the Electribe did not know what it signed up for.
@@graffie yeah, i know his sets :)
Some of the ruffest DnB breaks i’ve heard from the e2. Pls do a vid showing how you build em up like that m8 👌
I'll try to, thanks!
Trop chaud
Anywhere I can buy your tunes/sets? You ain't on Bandcamp (that I can find). Love the breaks and want to support and enjoy higher quality sound :)
Hey, thanks for the kind words. I was planning to put it all out on Bandcamp for free but I'm unsure where i kept the original wav files. I'll try to get them out when I finally find some time off work.
Hey man, awesome work, would love to know how you're getting the jungle sounding drum fills on the electribe synth version, both in sounds and rhythm?
I'll try to make video about it, but there is plenty of videos on yt already: try searching for how to program drum breaks (you generally need two snares, i usually band pass the smaller one that plays ghost notes). In terms of rhythm, its good to start with basic pattern and try replacing snares with kicks, adding short rolls, filling empty spots with ghost notes. Its also useful to listen to breaks you like and trying to recreat them. Pitch everything up, jungle breaks were usually sampled and pitched up to match higher tempo. Velocity variations are also very important to add some dynamic.
@@lb5tr thanks for the reply ! That is helpful, especially the band pass trick. Will give it a go, if you have any links to good yt videos pls let me know! Keep up the great work 🤘
Zup!
hey man, can you make a short tutorial vid?
yes, I just fixed my e2. I'll try to make something in upcoming months.
