I preferred mom's just because the theme was easier to read than dad's but dad has some serious skills too. The kids are really lucky !

I love that the mum is making pudding from scratch, dyeing cream and swirling it, cutting shaped vegetables and layering little pizza rocketships and the thing that got her the win was the lollipop 😂 kids are so easily pleased, they want pure sugar.
Those kids are so lucky to have two parents who are great cooks, creative and care so much about them.

Dad only had rice crispies with sprinkles in his, mom had whipped cream, sprinkles, a lollipop, sugar eyes on the cheese, and a sugar gummy around the lolli in hers.... She definitely used more sweets in hers.

She won because she gave him a lollipop. Dad gave him bean and rice burrito with guacamole, cheese, hummus, fruit and yogurt. The only sweet was rice crispies.
Hers was not that healthy as well with the candy, sauce, choice of bread etc.

They must throw great bday parties for their kids, loved the creativity with the themed foods. Also it's nice to hear the husband does the laundry ~ division of chores should be the norm but I still appreciate it

yeah the story telling was great. she was laughed at for saying the lollipop looked like a planet, but when put in the box next to the rocket with its streaming jets, you could see the motion and the lollipop was a planet

Honestly liked both lunches. Could clearly see the love in it. Kudos to you two. I'd love to see you guys design foreign meals too if ever it sounds good. I'm interested in you twos' creativity in your craft haha.
I can kind of see why the mum won. I think Dylan liked the space theme more. There was also more choices of foods and it was easier to tell the theme. But dad’s lunchbox was also really cool 😂
The fact that the parents put a lot of time into the lunch box and Dyllan looks at it for like 40 seconds and then decides who's the winner without really tasting it ❤

Both parents knew what their son liked and both boxes looked delish. I was thinking how they could partner to make a school lunch cookbook for schools to use to make these kinds of meals for ALL kids every day or at least once a week! Dylan has no idea how good he has it but he is the real winner here. Both meals were awesome. Loved the creativity of both lunches. Those spidey strawberries were great and so were the rocket pizzas! Love the cut outs in the cookie and the fruits.
What a great parenting team! Dylan not only gets amazing food, he also gets to see two parents who love him working together to keep him healthy and happy.
😂 really confused by the “rocket shaped” cutter, it looks like a Christmas tree… saw it from a different angle and realised it’s possibly shuttle shaped 😂

Super cute, but as a non-American, what kind of lunch has this much sugar? I get that different cultures have different food habits, it's just surprising to see so much sugar added to a lunch. (I also get that they know their own children and what they are likely to eat.)
As a daycare teacher I'd say most lunches consist of: entree (wrap/sandwich/pizzas), a veggie, a fruit, a salty snack (chips/pretzels/trail mix), and a small treat (gummies/mini chocolate/baked good), and sometimes a yogurt or cheese. That's what I've seen my experience at least. Usually it's not a ton of sugar, though there are exceptions. I once had a student sent it each day with a full size candy bar and a soda.
Lunch boxes usually have one little sweet treat or dessert but they also have fruits and veggies. It's called balance. Of course the two in the video are a bit fancy and special so the child will pick it and the mother even tried healthier options with less sugar.

You would never be allowed to serve this here (Sweden). I don’t see why you want to give so much sugar to a child??? We tend to have sugarsmart schools and preeschools here, meaning that there’s no added sugar allowed in the food (there’s more than enough sugar in the veggies since sugar isn’t a nutrient). If there’s a treat it would be fruit, like a slice of melon, apple or banana…
None of this would survive a school day, tasty though
Don't underestimate the taste buds of the little ones if you cook good food and give it to them.. they will be expecting that 🤔😻
One thing I see though is that if they’re going to take this to school for lunch I’ve got to figure out a way to keep it cold and to make everything fit in the lunchbox

Did bento boxes for my kids and by the time they got to lunch it was all a jumbled mess. My son had a Minecraft Steve-shaped rice ball, complete with diamond helm and cubes of meat and cheese to 'build' with, and my daughter had that little blue koala bear from that K-Pop band dude. They said it kinda looked correct, but they appreciated the effort all the same.

Both parents spent about 10x longer on making the lunch than I ever have or will. This is cool, but who has time for that every day?

I don't think this is a good reference because they were trying to be entertaining too. If you want real advice, you can look up bento making. Or just cook breakfast and give em what's on the menu as well lmao

When your so lucky that both your mom and dad can seriously cook something truly amazing . Like fam , no cap these dishes looks mad. Mom one is very like very organized and simply great , while dad theme was raw and looked absolutely great and very fancy

Questions: Did the green apples turn brown? How does the hummus get consumed (nothing to dip, no spoon, can't pick it up, skinny vessel)? Is there a version of this challenge that is replicable in 10 min, or better, 5 minutes? Time is precious in the morning and these don't look like they would be nice by lunchtime if made the night before.

They didn't really show him trying and taste testing and judging the food. Some kids on "I draw, you cook" were awesome in this. He also knew which one was made by his Mom. It should have been without him knowing who made which one. In the end he said his favourite part was the lollipop he didn't even try and he didn't like the cold pizza and yet it was his favourite lunch box? The end wasn't really satisfying tbh
I wish he tried everything. I wanted his opinion on the pudding!

I'm an Aunt... and my nephews eat whatever they want when they're with me. Pizza... candy.. cake... sugar... soda... oh lord.. my brother and his wife hate me for it.. But i can't say no. I just look at their eyes... and whatever man.. you want processed food from McD's.. you got it!!!!!!!
Both were really fun ideas that were healthy too but I think it was easier to tell what mums theme was supposed to be 😊

These lunch boxes are hella creative and decorative. I hope I have this creative cooking when I have kids. Just seems like a lot though. My parents never did this for me and I’ve never seen my sisters do this for their kids.

Good lord! My brother and I didn't even get milk money! And we went almost everyday without lunches! I hated watching all the other kids eating and there I sat hungry everyday. It sucked. I couldn't even imagine my parents going through all this trouble to make something like this for us. We were lucky to get anything!
