When I was a teenager, I had thought of ending my life because of the trouble my autism caused me. Although the song wasn't written at that time, I am glad it was written now. I am glad I didn't go through with it because then I would have never heard this song. Whoever said that the acoustic version is more haunting than the original version was right on the money.

My son is impaired and has severe epilepsy. Nickelback is played thru our home 24/7 but as my son feels my pain he plays this for me every day because he sees my pain. Never underestimate someone who isnt the NORM cuz this song cures my broken soul of having a disease take my child to the darkest places we will never know. So he sends me this song EVERY DAY how and why ill never know but it's the renewing of my soul each morn which enables me to be the bad ass mom that i am for him. (His dads a pos who watches us struggle due to epilepsy) cuz his woman needs her material things his kids are an embarrassing mess hes not man enuff to face cuz he's pussywhipped. As someone who lives with suicide thoughts daily, this is the only anti suicide song that I find doesn't irritate me. I love it so much.

I can relate to this song so much and I normally don't go on the internet with things like this but I feel so alone I have no friends no family I lost my son and I have nothing left I just feel like ending it all that's why I listen to this song it helps me every time I feel like just ending it all I know nickleback won't see this but I want to thank them this song literally has saved my life more times than I can count I don't know why I'm still here I ask myself that everyday I really don't know why God is still keeping me alive anyways this song is still helping me today so thank you nickleback for this song you guys are amazing

It just upsets me so very much that everyone "pretends" to despise Nickleback. How can you hate such soulful lyrics about a topic that we can all relate to? I just love their creativity and how every power ballad is pure gold. Now,their music memorizing and just undeniably beautiful,but the one thing that makes them complete is their Canadian roots! This is living,breathing proof that we Canadians can produce more than just Rob Ford or Justin Bieber. We can produce REAL TALENT!
The thing I love about them is that they sound so much better than the mainstream pop music we have today . Deffo one of the best bands to have come out of Canada

My son is impaired and has severe epilepsy. Nickelback is played thru our home 24/7 but as my son feels my pain he plays this for me every day because he sees my pain. Never underestimate someone who isnt the NORM cuz this song cures my broken soul of having a disease take my child to the darkest places we will never know. So he sends me this song EVERY DAY how and why ill never know but it's the renewing of my soul each morn which enables me to be the bad ass mom that i am for him. (His dads a pos who watches us struggle due to epilepsy) cuz his woman needs her material things his kids are an embarrassing mess hes not man enuff to face cuz he's pussywhipped. Thank u guys for renewing my hope every fucking day my boy he's 27 and your biggest fan in america🙌❤ thank u for this song it heals me over and over everyday
