Hello if you don’t mind me asking -how is the area around campus? (Crimes? For example the cars being broken into) -why did you chose university of Houston over an hbcu? -is there a lot of black people? (Kind of important to me) -is there a variety of organizations for black people (sororities/clubs)? -would you recommend on or off campus housing? -lastly would you recommend me to go to UH? Sorry for all of the questions lol I just want to be sure it’s the school I want to go to.
-campus is not horrible you just have to be cautious but I always feel safe. I have heard recently some instances where some of my friends cars were broken into. -I chose UH over an HBC you because I wanted to be able to meet and connect with other races outside of the African-American community. Also UH has amazing resources that a lot of times some HBCUs do not have. Also a big pro of you H is the fact that it’s so diverse so it’s not necessarily a PWI because it has A great mix of every ethnicity. I can honestly say I have met some great people from every race. So my choice to go to UH rather than an HBC you was that I can meet and connect with other races. -there are a lot of black people here at UH. Black UH is very strong. For example, during homecoming UH had their own list of events however black UH had its own lineup including parties and events. -UH has eight out of the divine nine organizations excluding the iota’s. Outside of fraternities and sororities there are many black organizations such as black student union black business student Association Nigerian student Association and other organizations that put on events for the black community as well as provide a support system for the black community -I would recommend for you to live on campus 100%. A bulk of your college experience is reflective off of your time living on campus. Yes it may be cheaper to live off campus however experiences are way more valuable in my opinion. -I would definitely recommend you going to UH specifically if you are a business major. From my point of you I know a lot of the resources that Bauer offers for their business students but not only is the business school strong other schools are strong with in the US community and the black US community is strong and supportive as well.
They aren't all the same. All of the rooms in Cougar Village 2 look like this one. Cougar Village 1 is very similiar. Here is moody (ruclips.net/video/5VywZhltQIg/видео.html) the rest of the dorms are for upperclassmen and sophmores.
T M diversity is really equal in all of the dorms. CV2 is more lit! CV1 is quieter and they focus more on studies but for me CV2 was the perfect mixture

Is it possible To get a roommate or 3 ppl or just 1 & do you pay for gas and electric and food and if Yes do you have to pay on time or ?. (Sorry for asking too much)
Hey am going to community college for 2 years and am thinking of transferring to uh after, I just wanted to know if there housing available on campus for transfer students
Hi! Yes. UH does provide housing on campus for transfer students! You just have to make sure UH gets your transcript from which ever previous college you attended. You also have to apply for housing for the campus itself. During the application you can pick where you want to dorm at. They have a lot of different places to stay on campus as well as different layouts (private single, roommate, sweet mate etc..) I hope this helps! (:

The Quad is brand new. There were only limited rooms available so I didn’t get it based on the randomized acceptances. Besides that I honestly don’t know much

Yes! UH is safe but always be careful and watchful on campus

The dorms are co-Ed and my rug was too small so this time I’m going to try a 5ft by 6ft. Hopefully that’s enough

7th floor has an amazing view. I was on the 4th so it was in the middle. I loved the 4th floor!!
