    Love the intro!
And i love to see the Intel graphics getting some wins.
    More competition is always better.

Thanks for the review/comparison. ARC really has potential for productivity. Hope they can improve more, esp in terms of power consumption. When comparing it to competitors for gaming, this card is far less efficient.

    Intel CPU + AMD GPU
    The perfect couple. Good times!
And both have better drivers(open-source) than Nvidia for Linux/steam !!

These are very interesting results... I would have liked to see this compared to a 7700 XT or 7800 XT, being that those two cards both have dual media encoders, unlike the 4070, which I believe only has a single media encoder.

    • @hayseedfarmboy
      @hayseedfarmboy 8 месяцев назад

the 7700 XT render times are about the same as a RTX 2060 super and RX 6800 , a rtx 3060TI will cut those render times by around 40% across the board,

It's amazing to see how well Arc gets on in productivity. I've been daily driving an A750 in my gaming/editing PC for the whole of January for content on my channel. I have to say, in Premiere I've noticed no difference in timeline playback, but encododing does feel a little longer. For my workflow with Sony 10 bit 4:2:2 4K footage, the Arc A750 has been incredible!

so does this address the lack of quicksync in Ryzen CPUs entirely? like if we had a 7950x, 4070, and ARC in second slot? i want a Frankenstein PC, but mixing red, green, and blue might end you up with a poopy brown. i want to know if ARC would be utilized in that scenario for anything

One thing to keep in mind is DOSBox doesn't work with Arc cards anymore, since 3.5 months ago with driver 4676. From what I've seen of Intel's response about this, they may never fix that. If you don't have any old games that depend on DOSBox it's a great card though.

right off the bat your video is wrong, All The Nvidia cards starting with the 4060 and up supports AV1 H.264 and H.265 etc and I am seeing so many misconceptions in the comments below I don't even know where to start. So lets start with intel's deep link Technology, if you have a late model intel cpu with onboard graphics it can act as a video card accelerator in Adobe and daVinci resolve the intel Arc cards support it natively, but I am not seeing anything that says it won't work with AMD or Nvidia cards. as for encoding All of Nvidia's consumer cards with a few exceptions have 5 media encoders unlocked not 2 in fact even now they are only capped via the drivers, so they don't compete with the commercial line up of Quatro's

Now I’m wondering what running a dual GPU setup would do with those intel Arc GPUs? Could 2 a580s or 2 a770s completely destroy a Nvidia 4080 or 4090 or do they not scale well with multiple GPUs? Or even running a 4070 with an a580 for a secondary GPU

Me too but you must have full pcie16 gen4 with working SAM or ReBar enabled to work properly which i don't know how juch is doable on mainstream motherboards or how rebar will be working with something like Xeon but with xeons pcie lanes will won't be bottleneck but i am not sure about rebar on xeon platform or threadripper

    • @lastcalaveras

They don’t scale unfortunately and Intel plans to not have that ability for consumers. They have bigger issues at the moment trying to provide support for older games. Though I was delighted to find my a770m could run vampire the masquerade bloodlines from 2004 after applying the unofficial patch.

even the A770 doesnt hold up to a 2060 super this is utter fiction, intel cards have longer render times than AMD, not sure how he came up these numbers, but they are not normal and not supported by any other valid bench marks, there is something wrong with his testing i assume thats why allot of standard tests were not able to be done, but a RTX 2060 super will get stomped by a 3060 ti the a770 doesnt get close but that just looking render times , the intel are not good for rendering or gaming

      Short answer: Yes
How: IDK... at least, in numbers, 2 Intel Arc a770 (that has 16gb of ram) can beat a Nvidia 4090 (that has 24gb of ram), the deal is how do the «combinated» GPU of those 2 GPUs.

Very interestling! Question: Puget systems ranked the 4070 at almost the same level as the 4070ti for performance on Davinci Resolve. Does the dual encoding on the 4070ti really make it better on Resolve? If so, in which scenarios? I wonder how Puget could have missed this. Thanks so much.

You know, I've been building PC's since Intel BX chipset was the thing to have (I'm 50+ with 20+ years in on-site tech support of anything from Cisco equipment to storage, virtualisation and computing clusters taking entire floors on industrial scale). Back in the days, No internet, so next PC related magazine issue was highly anticipated. Recently I've decided to build something for my boys and to catch up with the trends and check what's available out there...
Back to the point, honestly, from the entire ocean of youtubers and channels covering this topic, THREE are totally standing out from the crowd - Yourself for content creating setups, Optimum for gaming rigs and Mr Matt Lee who turns the boring process of putting computer bits together into an experience worth every minute i put into it as a viewer.
I can only commend you for the amount if work you've put in this video alone, the sheer amount of information and the way it was presented to us. For that, I thank you!!

It seems (at least for the time being..) like Intel is creating stopgap GPUs for non-3D creators. Pretty smart way to approach the scene imo. Being a 3D creator myself I can also appreciate the lack of potential buyers remorse that could've stemmed from someone new to the GPU market coming in all of a sudden and trouncing all over the performance of a card I just had to shell out a ton of money for. 😆

Could not find the test bench setup to see if this setup uses the internal igpu and quicksync for both nvidia and Intel. It's hard to judge exactly what these results mean as cpu nvme and ram can make a difference. Will wait for updated drivers as it's not fully stable yet, but certainly great progress from Intel
How does it compare to a mac m2 ultra as this card with a 13500 and ddr4 would be under $800 and beat out the best bang system, as well as giving apple a run for its money in Adobe uses

Thanks. I suppose this makes sense if comparing cards across platforms, but if Intel cannot combine the igpu in the ARC cards and nvidia can benefit from the igpu, then the match could be closer for those with 12th gen and 13th gen cpu's. I still think arc is a winner with this platform. Will have to wait on final arc drivers.
