    Thank you so much for making the video. It was a big help. I took my 36" cooktop apart like you did. About a dozen of the silicone spacers were missing/scattered around. I found those, straightened the bent metal tabs, repositioned the heating elements, and re-installed the glass top. It works great. While it was apart I also put some foam tape on the back of the glass, so the top would seal/sit well on the countertop. It only took about 30 minutes total.

    Thank you sir - this was extremely helpful to me as well. Mine was in worse shape than yours as far as parts being shifted around, with 2 of the white pieces gouged and the control panel out of place. I did have enough rubber feet to use (even a spare was in there) but about 8 or 9 of them had come off partially or completely. Your video gave me the courage to remove the glass and fix it. I will be calling Frigidaire to see if the worst white piece can be replaced. The price-point is attractive and I wish they had charged $10-15 more and used a decent shipping box, because after watching your video, I had already returned my first one without opening it, due to the condition of the box.

    Just received this cooktop from Amazon. The box looked pretty ruffed up like it had been on the bottom of the pile. However the cooktop showed no exterior damage. After watching your video I decided to open it up anyway to double check. What I discover was that EVERY rubber foot was out of place and the "burners" were completely smashed! Needless to say, back to Amazon it went. Thanks for the video!

    I have just bought a 30" Frigidaire cooktop (here in Canada) and the instruction manual clearly states do NOT use silicon to seal the top to the counter (I have quartz) due to requirements for heat ventilation. However I do not want spillovers of soup etc going into the unit below of the drawer below. So I shall be on the horn with Frigidaire and see what the issue is with that. At the same time the manual also mentions using the clips to attach to the quartz counter...but I have to order those from Frigidaire. We shall see.

    Mine came in an undamaged box with plenty of extra packing. But every coil was out of place. About half of the silicone pads came off, and there were three extra floating around. You should have had a mica disc to cover that white pad. It looked like you may have had it in your hand, but I thought I'd mention it for anyone confused by why theirs looks different. Unfortunately, my display board was also floating around loose because four plastic standoffs were broken, probably by the movement of the shifting coils. That's not something fixable with glue. Glad I opened it up, but now I have to play the support or return game.

    I just received the same unit from Home Depot. The only issue so far has been with the central large burner which is supposed to have an "Auto Sizing" feature to adjust the diameter of the magnetic burner relative to the diameter of the pot you use. With both my 12" induction ready cooking pots only a very small 4" diameter area seems to be working. I have not opened the cooktop up to check the burner feet. I wonder if that could be the cause of the malfunction?

    I was looking to switch from gas to induction, and was interested in the Samsung, but now I think I’m going with Frigidaire. My question is, how bad is the humming ? I’ve read some forums where people say they can hear the humming from the next room.

    • @Galileo9.81
      @Galileo9.81 3 года назад +1

      In my point of view, the humming isn't much bothering. It also depends on the types of pot you have. More humming means faster the pot gets hot, so if you don't like the noise you can simply set it at the lower settings.

    I'm thinking about buying the same cooktop. How did you install the "L" shaped retainer brackets under the counter to secure the cook top to the counter? • @Galileo9.81
      @Galileo9.81 3 года назад

      Rubi, I am sorry that your unit isn't functioning at all. If it is right out of the box and you properly connected the wires to the 220v box, it should turn on. If not, then there must be a manufacture error, I presume. I didn't check whether it turned on before the fix. So, I can't answer you on that question. Check the 220v box with the multimeter and make sure that you properly connect the unit to it by the manual.

    FThanks for posting this. Friends don't let friends purchase Samsung appliances. They are great with electronics but appliances are HORRIBLE. I 4ead on reviews that while you are cooking even if some water drops on the cooktop, it shuts it down. Have you experienced this. Why does this happen?

    • @josephdragan7734
      @josephdragan7734 3 года назад

      The shutdown when the unit senses liquid on the stove top is by design. The idea is that if you have a boiling liquid that overflows the pot the induction power is automatically turned off.
