- They call themselves "New York's Finest Messenger Service". Founded by Fernando Rivera, The Street KIng's, the Times Square Bicycle messenger service has a great story to tell.
By Moctar Niang
This story was my 10th grade Personal Project at The Dwight School. The IB Program requires of all 10th Grade students to work on a subject of their choice as a centerpiece assignment for the school year. This is one of 4 of my multimedia stories; written, videotaped, and digitized,
The worst things about this job were:
1. No place to lock up the bike and you can't take it into the building.
2. You bring the stuff to the front desk and they make you walk around the whole block to the service entrance, then make you wait 15 minutes to be taken upstairs.
3. They give you the wrong address, adding time to the trip, and that cuts into the time you need for more jobs.
We’re u high or something? Plenty of places to lock the bike and you need to know where to deliver service entrance etc dickwad
Yeah I used to go through s*** like that when I was doing messenger work he's kind of jobs got to be real lucky if you could pay your rent on time every month just as long as you get every job right 90% of the time on time obsessively punctual and incredibly fast it's really a job for Superman
No bathroom.
the walk around the back or finding the package entrance was the worst. Luckily my company did business same spots so I learned it quick
dope ass vid for a 10th grade project bruh
YOOO the Infamous KID. Glad to see he's still making it.
Amazing, just watched the other day another documentary where Fernando was just a teen, now he is manager! Amazing!
what vid was that?
Kid was always best dispatcher, knew he'd end up a bauz
This is fantastic quality. Can easily pass for something produced by BBC, etc. Stay well.
Thank you from Manhattan ©2024
Glad to hear all your riders wear helmets. Protecting your assets is crucial to any successful business.
The Kid is now the man
I always tell him ;
"Do your thing Kid" !!
✌🏾😎
Nothing is wrong with what he's doing.
He's happy and doing what he loves.
He's Blessed.
And his heart is Gold. 💛

Great job in this project!!!
When he pointed to his helmet, I remember that cat. I used to messenger in the eighties and there were two guys who rode with helmets like that ... they used to mountain bikes in mountain bike pants with riser bars. Nice to re-live those days. I wonder if they knew my friend and my boss JL ... co-owner of Wheels messenger service.
Good Job !
Really great to watch.
Good luck for your Graduation ! ;)
Really good job dude damn im impressed.
Awesome video!!
I saw a video of this guy when he was younger, I think he was working at Mothers.
Nope. Neither Kidd nor Carlos ever worked there. They've both pretty much been independent since they started.
Great Courage Guys !! Keep going !!
Greetings messenger from

How much game has the kid spit inside of elevators over the years??
ITS JUST WEARTHER BABY!!
It looks like you're using just an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of your messenger jobs. What kind of software is it?
I miss good dispatching
Nice Job !!! I used to sork for Mobile Messenger & Dash !!! ;D
Then I got hit by a Cadillac... and got into the taxi business !!! ;D Good Luck !!
I wish i was there...
where can i get some bag lights that master king has rocking?
I do not know, why dispatcher tells courier how to get to 86th st by 4 train? My experience is P/U name address, contact and delivery info. Run number and all spoken in seconds.
very cool
could i be the messenger? how to apply?
Does anyone know the name of the song at 05:13 ?
Mala Rodríguez - Por La Noche
shazam
Wait what he said take the 4 train? I thought messengers don’t take the subway?

Irl Premium Rush movie
Kid Ill got agey...
Love.to ride and get paid out of it.....
I used to be a deliveryman for postmates, then doordash. The pay is crap, but if you love biking all day and you don't mind the boss ripping you off, good for you. There's no way you can pay rent with a job like this, it's only for people who live with their parents.
Maybe you just sucked at it.
Dave Berkley hahha
Working for a professional messenger company is way different then doing postmates
bicycle messengers will probably be extinct within 10 years but bike delivery services may just be getting started
Takeout delivery companies are in full swing, but they go out of business fast. The messengers are pretty much done. I'm surprised this one is still there.
Messengers are NOT done
quick track, mess kollective and breakaway couriers are better
At 4:10, why does such an experienced bike messenger use such a cheap lock to protect his bike? I know its light, but it also is the worst security ever. So easily cut in 1 second.
1stPlaceDirector The pad lock is protecting his back wheel, the cable his front wheel, and the U-Lock His frame. That´s decent security.
the U-Lock is nice but not versatile, it can only lock up to things that are six inches where as a cord lock can be locked to a variety of things. Also your bike is only outside 20 mins max.
Zeke Kyser 20 mins is a lifetime to a thief.
More dangerous job than a police officer? Lol! Other than that, this was a cool vid. Nice job.
A lot more dangerous. Cops only have like a 1 in 30,000 chance of dying in duty.
@@MattSezerno it’s 1/10 ok dickie
Good job on this, except for the awful music. Get rid of that and you have a great video.
