I think I watched your series of videos on subframe and trailing arm bushings 30 times. 10 times before buying bushings and 20 times while installing. This is no small job. Even a relatively experienced wrencher will struggle to get this done in a weekend alone and on floor jacks. Admittedly - I thought I could get away with a few things when I watched before doing - like the rounded carriage bolt, or removing the wheel liners. Well, I ended up doing essentially everything you did and in the end your advice got me through the job. I couldn't be happier with the results on my 2000 M roadster. Thank you, really great videos.
Hi mate, well thought out set of instructions and clear demonstration. But! No need to take those rear wheel arch liners off. When you drop the trailing arm down, there is enough room to slide an open end spanner onto the outer nut, then use a bar and socket on the bolt.
I’ve seen it done w/o removing, but kept hearing how much they have to fight with it. figured I’d remove it to keep my sanity 😅 Thanks for the tip, Gary!
awesome, i did half the job a few years ago but decided not to drop the rear subframe cuz i wasnt sure i was capable. Gonna tackle the rest this weekend, thanks!
Man, I just woke up ready to do that job but I'm missing the poly diff bushing. I bought everything from Turner last month and half my shipment wont ship until June 27. It's nice to hear the 1-2 hours even though I'm planning for the whole weekend but I never see videos including the spare tire carrier included in the project. Anyway, thanks to all of you for sharing your knowledge. Much appreciation and respect!
Great video, and thanks for sharing as I am about to do the same job and replace the Diff... Not sure yet what type of bushes to use, originals, or ethereen types... any advice /tips
For Diff bushings? My plan is to go OEM if I need to replace in the future. You want some play there due to the weak subframe, and poly for subframe bushings. If you have stiff Diff bushings, it'll just transfer the vibrations to the weak mounting bracket.
Hi there, me again. I found that to disconnect the axle the parking/hand brake needed to be engaged otherwise the axle will just spin. You’ve removed the brake discs beforehand. How did you stop the axle from spinning or did I skip over something in my haste? 😂😂
I removed the brake caliper which are the hydraulic lines. The hand brake is a mechanical cable which is how I was able to keep it from spinning. Did you already disconnect both?
@@andrewhkim Yes....oops. Took me longer to put the brake shoes and cable back on than everything else. Lesson learned....thank you though. This has been invaluable. 👍🏿
I bet those graphite infused are new. I recently heard of those but I bought my PowerFlex 2 years ago. I'll wrap them with Teflon tape. Either way, this man did an awesome job all by himself. Mine has been in the planning for 2 years but I may jump on it soon. All by myself also and in the plain California sun! Enjoy your summer without Covid bs.

I replaced my bushings by just removing the exhaust, and lowering the subframe with everything attached. Too 1-2 hours in total :-)

I noticed the big X drawn on the bottom of your diff case. Is that from a dealer shop? Mine has that too… wondering what it means.
not sure... i'm assuming it's factory?
