Warren just found this video and now I’m preparing to use this sequence when I start hitting again in the Spring! Can totally implement this right away! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Roger, many thanks for your feedback and taking the time out to message me. I hope it will help you and any questions you may have when you start in the spring please don’t hesitate. Is it the weather where you are that’s stopping you from playing now? Regards Warren
Such a simple way to play golf 😊....too many golfers are trying to do what they can't, swing like Rory and other professionals when they have to realise that they don't have the agility to mimic them.... accept what you have and the simplest way is normally the best way....many thanks Warren and your helper 🐕🎊🌟🤩🥳
Hi John, Many thanks for taking the time out to message me here at the channel. I totally agree with you, I hear it too often, ‘I want to take my game to the next level’ etc etc. Dangerous territory. Think it’s a human being thing where it’s a never satisfied or just wanting to hit the ball further and further, instead of improving on areas where it will really count say 50/100yds in. Appreciate your support and wishing you all the best. Kind regards Warren
This is a godsent! "the swing" of the arms and club in golf is a video you cannot find on youtube. Everyone somehow assumes we viewers know what "swing" is. For far too long I thought swing was opening the face in the backswing and closing it in the downswing because that's what it looks like is happening. The famous L to L drill, both Ls can be attained but inbetween it's all haywire and misunderstood. The backswing shown here is also v helpful because there is a vertical movement to the top and it is not overly deep. I've got a problem getting hands too deep (too much around) Absolutely love how you blend the arms swing & the body turn to that text book finish. Truly appreciate what you demonstrate here, it's not what I currently employ (perhaps to my detriment) but I will store it.
Really appreciate the feedback and the comment. Make sure halfway back (L arm parallel) the middle of your hands are in front of your chest. Swing with a stick laying back behind your heels at address and feel that you don’t break the stick line going back which will keep your arm, hands and club more neutral. Working on hinging the wrists steeper will help a lot too. Regards Warren
Many thanks Warren. This works. A while ago, I had restrictions in my movement and I discovered I could play simulation golf effectively with friends using this technique. After CoVID I had forgotten and I went back to the awful body swing.😢
Hi Alan, i’m glad you found it useful and it can be tricky knowing what works and what doesn’t. I sounds like you know what works for you. One of the secrets is not trying to change too much so it has a detrimental affect on your game. I wish you well and any questions on anything please fire over. Regards Warren
Hello Warren, this is a wonderful video! I will soon begin my training, and I’m sure it will help as I do have some physical restrictions at 79 years of age. One question I would like to ask is, is there a great deal of difference in distance using this restricted method to a full body swing of a younger person? thank you very very much You see I’m having trouble reaching 150 yards. Used to do it handily with a seven iron. Now if I use a six, the ball will not land softly and will bounce off the green in the back. Best wishes.
I have been playing golf and I still feel like a beginner with golf. I have always lacked distance. It took me 42 years to break 100. I have never broken 90.
Warren, I left a comment on your other video ‘power, speed and control’ where you show a different type of release, ie: the handle dragging technique of not rolling the arms after impact but rather pulling the club through impact with the rotation of the body. You describe that video as the good for power and control, yet you say the same on the handle dragging non rolling hand technique on the other video, so which one of the release techniques do you recommend?
Just been watching your match against Bernard Langer and your swing in slow motion and your super body motion that initiated/controlled your swing path 🤣 completely not what you are demonstrating!
That’s because this video isn’t meant for so called elite golfers, it’s for golfers who demonstrate too much body motion/over the top etc. Regards Warren
@@warrenbennettgolfacademy teaching the correct body motion would be better, not an arm action with no body action - you are condemming them to never attaining a good swing because they will always be too arms and closed on impact because of no body action, or spending loads of time and money trying to reprogram to a good body action. Speaking from experience as a PGA pro taught me like this when I was young. You swing your arms and body very much in sync now but check out your younger swing or a slow motion of just about any tour pro and they will ALWAYS use weight shift/ recentering to start the swing, you are teaching the complete opposite. There was a comment I read recently on another YT post (a lesson from Dr Kwon) from a one armed golfer who hits further and straighter than most in his club purely because he has good body movement. Try hitting with just the left arm and you will see how much the body is involved.
@@warrenbennettgolfacademy A much better drill would be using your heel-to-heel discovery/drill that you showed in another video but start with the pupils feet together and let the arms swish the club back and forth, transferring weight to trail heel and the front heel, letting the movement of the body swing the club. Then gradually move the feet apart whilst still doing the same heel-to-heel weight transfer. Also look up Dr Kwons step drills and also the rope drill.

How much is your trail hand involved as you’re rolling the club at impact?

Wishing you well Jeff, I’m sure you will, golf is very hard as we know but can surprise us now and again.

This is the way I have to play and I can hit the ball 85% of the distance with body and with accuracy….I’ll take it .
I would definitely say if it’s not broke then don’t fix it. Many thanks for your message and all the best with your golf.
