    I lost my dad this past May. Lighting a candle and taking time to remember is such a great idea. I think I will "borrow" it from you.
    Beautiful items. 💙

    That's beautiful. The colours are amazing too. Have you ever been able to get a dark red colour in Aqua Cast? I can't find a pigment to get that colour.

    Hi Louise, fellow creator here, I'm planning to use my Glowforge laser cutter/engraver to engrave on some resincrete and aquacast projects but am awaiting confirmation from the manufacturers regarding how safe it is, ie. would there be any risk of toxins being released in the engraving process that could be harmful to both myself and the machine but wondered if you had confirmation of the same using your laser tool? I'm fully aware of the dangers of engraving/cutting anything with PVC and normal epoxy resin is a no-no as far as I'm aware - I'd just be interested in your thoughts on the matter too. Love your work by the way, very inspiring! Thank you!

      Hi Rob, to be honest with you I wasn’t at all concerned about the safety of engraving Aqua Cast due to it being a natural product and with the air purifier it gives an extra safety boost anyway. I didn’t notice any smell or fumes and felt confident engraving it but in answer to your question no I didn’t enquire about it. Now, you mentioned resin being a big no no and after doing my research I agree but xTool have told me it’s safe with the air purifier 🤔 I’m undecided on that one!

      @@LouiseSingletonCreations Great, thanks for getting back to me. I vent out of the window with a powerful extractor so I'm also confident it should be ok but I like to double and triple check as anything that may contain chemicals such as chloride, found in a lot of plastics, can also damage the inner workings of a machine as well as being toxic for our lungs but I don't think a material like eco resin should contain anything like that. If/when I hear back from JDiction with confirmation, I'll be happy to let you know for peace of mind. As for Epoxy, I've seen am mixed bag of opinions on it so I'm also awaiting confirmation on the safety of that. Anyway, thanks again for getting back to me, I'm sure others will find this info helpful too. Oh and feel free to check out my Channel for more on laser engraving etc. it might be of use to you somewhat, or perhaps just interesting! cheers!

    Louise, can you engrave actual epoxy resin?

    • @LouiseSingletonCreations
      @LouiseSingletonCreations  День назад

      Very good question, the short answer is yes but it releases dangerous fumes so I would only do it in conjunction with the air purifier. I will be going into that subject in episode 3 very soon.
