After rewatching the unrated version and watching the rated version, they definitely left out a lot of the more fucked up parts.

This movie has some of the most gruesome kills in Zombie movie history. The soldier falling on the grenade and getting tore in half literally had me laughing till i nearly stopped breathing 😂😂😂.
you know with how much they waste ammo I don't see anybody ACTUALLY having any ammo to use especially if this movie is canonical in the george romero timeline where the outbreak happened in the 60's (I think) and this appears to take place late 90's, and this society which has survived for that supposed 30 years didn't think to make multiple fall back points with barriers and the most heavily defended fallback point being the tower itself just in case a horde of zombies got through but instead "We've got one wall all the way around that's good enough".
They didn’t think the undead would form a strategic army and to actually think about their actions.. especially the leader. Also knowing for years that they always seems like a dumb mindless corpses, as even Mr K pointed out, especially as they always seemed to be drawn to fireworks: just like a dear in headlights. They weren’t prepared for this and that’s why has fallen through out the years. They underestimated the dead.
You missed 3 or 4 people getting eaten during the fiddlers green invasion. A dude is getting eaten by a zombie in the background of the guy who’s pressing his face against glass. And then 3 or 4 others getting eaten in the after shot. Also another person getting eaten in the background in the second fiddlers green shot, might be one of the same people who were being eaten in the previous shot though.
Seeing those soldiers makes me think huh i think that's why the drill sergeants were always yelling to use 99% of your mental capacity to STAY FOCUS and look what happened got killed by under estimating brain dead zombies and not so brain dead ones.
You missed... Alot of kills. If someone gets tackled by a zombie then I'm pretty sure that counts as a kill. Plus if someone dies and comes back that should count as well
This guy ain't james a Janisse. I think he was just counting the kills we see on screen and where we clearly see someone die. The technical stuff like zombie tackles and coming back as zombies probably aren't on this guy's mind.

The hole moment when the zombies fell down the fence makes no fucking sense, it never made for me at least. Those things technically drag their feet just retreat and shoot and barricade yourself somewhere. No matter how much 'smartie' they are supposed to be they are still dumb as doornails..
The only thing that bothers me about this film is sometimes the zombie killing is inconsistent. Zombies are killed by massive head trauma (shot in the head) but it seems a lot in this movie die from things like body shots or explosions that are hardly near them. Great movie otherwise.
I like how in many of George A. Romero’s zombie movies none of the characters have ever heard of short controlled bursts.
