- #Sodalite, a type of gemstone that has quite a bit of sodium in it, actually looks like the earth! You can also carve and polish it. Natalie unboxes a beautifully carved piece of sodalite and tells you all about its interesting optical properties too.

Going back and rewatching these videos, I remember that when I originally watch this I thought the "I don't like gemstones" thing was just a random joke. But watching these has gotten me to talk to my grandfather (who is huge into gemstones) about his collection and he'll straight up be like "I don't know what this is" and take a lick to figure out what stone it is
That's awesome! We love hearing about people getting interested in gemstones and taking a deeper look into them. Thanks for sharing!
Is it just me, or the whole time were you thinking "Don't drop it. Please don't drop it. It would be awful if you accidentally dropped it." on loop?
I'm subscribed to 3 crystal channels; one's the crystal collector, it's this guy and his dog mining crystals, another is crystal meanings who tells you the spiritual meaning of crystals, the kind of thing some people don't believe in, but I respect that others have different opinions then my own, and of course you guys that tell the more scientific side to crystals. Today I bought a little tumble stone of Sodalite and it's unique and beautiful, it has a good energy and has a nice little spot of calsite; I also got a big tumble stone of rose quartz too, they're both beautiful in different ways and I love them both.
I would be interested to learn more about Bismuth, the colors and shape are fascinating

Boy sodalite is quite lovely ! I've heard of it but never saw any specimens evidently.
Can you put fewer jumpcuts in the end bit? I can't admire the rock when the angle keeps changing.
I bought a sodalite gua Sha wand and it's got bits of black on one end. It's magnetic on that end. So cool!
You should do an episode on lapiz lasuli!
Sodalite is fun, it frequently flouresses (I know I spelled that wrong) a nice deep red!
Edit: I probably should wait until after the video to comment!
ooohhhhhh where can i get a carving like that? It's so so purty :D
the horse looked Soo cool
Beautiful. Might be my favourite.
Sodalite is one of my favorite minerals. In the video, I've never seen Sodalite having a more light sky blue color.
Claps u
Pretty!
Wow, I actually knew this one! I've seen sodalite beads online, and they're lovely.
I love this channel!!!!! I wish I had that rockkk
"it got it's name from the amount of sodium it" so don't drop mentos on it kids
I'm 10 and I love these videos
My cat is called sodalite because her eyes are so blue like the gem. She is actually my profile picture ^^
I love these videos.
What’s the book held up at 2:55?
Cool. Do you know the story with lapis lazuli? I get the feeling most pieces are "treated" in some way to darken them, but have not found any info about this...
Some pieces can be dyed to enrich the blue but others may not be. Reputable sellers will always state whether there are any treatments. For example, lapis that has not undergone any enhancement should be listed as “untreated or natural with no treatment".
I have a sodalite venus. She is beautiful
I was just thinking that I really like the outro music.
I'd be interested in some stones containing metals
I like it more than Lapis Lazuli. Why? Because of more toned-down color.
cheers to sodalite.
Apparently Canada has annexed Alaska from the US :P
Can you cite the book or leave a link to where one can get the book
Hi! Here's a link to the book series: www.jtv.com/sisk-gemology-reference.html
What is the book she referenced?
Hi! The book is the Sisk Gemology Reference found here: www.jtv.com/sisk-gemology-reference.html
What book was that?
"The Sisk Gemology Reference" by Jerry Sisk, one of JTV's co-founders. It's linked in the description!

Wtf, tease us about fluorescence but not show us a glowing horse? 😒😞 Throw some uv on it.
Does this woman always look like she doesn't care about anything?
As someone who also doesn't overly emote. Just because you don't see the emotions on our face doesn't mean they're not there necessarily. You just have to pay more attention to our words and inflections.
I may be wrong about her, but I think that's what's going on.
Mo Speckleblitz what you said isn't wrong, but what i meant is that she looks careless rather than she is.
