Helpful. The only thing I would ad / change is I found it much easier to remove the switch with the tumbler still in the switch & then dissconnect the wires. Also made it easy to make sure it was allinged correctly to go back in. Very good video though & thnak you.
My Durango won't start or crank, but I noticed that everything that's supposed to work when the key is in the on position isn't working. A/C and power windows so I'm assuming it's the ignition switch. Here I go. Thanks for the video
How were you able to determine that the ignition switch was the problem?? I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota and when I turn key I only get a click. If I turn it enough times eventually it will start cranking. If I jump it it starts. Had battery, alternator,and starter checked and all are good. Isn't the ignition switch the last possibility??
I changed ignition switch 2 New keys plus alternator and coil pack still won't start do I have to program key if original was just regular key. Ram truck 2001 thanks

Well, since the solenoid is part of the starter and you replaced it.. I would guess it's your ignition switch.Once you pull the wires on the switch, hook the battery up again.
Hello..when replacing the ignition switch you dont to replace the computer..??am about buying a dodge durango 2003 v8 but has this problem.they crank it whit a screwdriver.is what they told me.am not sure if buy it or not
Thanks for showing procedure and required tools. I had issues starting but could get it to start with applying inward pressure until 2 nights ago. Now when I turn it on my dash goes completely blank, no lights bells or anything and it clicks but only sometimes but doesn't want to start so I hope I'm right in assuming it's the switch. Question is, is it necessary to replace both the tumbler and switch?🤔
No, I believe you can replace one or the other. I just wanted to be sure. I was having intermittent starting issues. I think back now, I believe it turned out to be the solenoid.

My 1999 is tilt. Nappa part # KS6203. Was told this could be the cure for my "crank no start"/ "NO BUS" issue ?
