  • A very late go around for this United Airlines Boeing 777-300ER on 28R. Sounds like the pilots reporting some turbulence or instability during the flare when rounding out over the runway. First time I have seen a go around this low, very cool to see!

Liked the way you held your commentary - and allowed comms between ATC/Tower and pilot to be heard. Far too often on similar streams this simply gets “talked-over”... by the host. Not a rare event, but it’s always favorable to actually hear the pros provide the details.

The poorly skilled pilots tried so hard to have a soft landing that they weren't even able to land! Better a Ryainair hard landing than a go around. Saves so much time and fuel compared to going around.

so crazy to think one(or two) human persons can just pilot such a HUGE machine and come witin 10 feet of the runway and then go up in the sky again. Such percision

Stunning capture! May I feature this go around in one of my next episodes? Of course with a link back to your original video. Cheers!

Going around with a very long plane can be a little tricky. A tail strike can write off the aircraft.

What was the purpose of the go-around? At the altitude (like 10ft) you’d think he be committed. he didn’t like his flair??

There are distance markers on the runway that you, by law, have to touch down by. If you’re still in the air after you pass those markers you automatically have to go around, or it’s an illegal unsafe touchdown.

He told ATC that they hit some wake turbulence. If you watch the gear closely you can see the plane rock to the side quite aggressively. Safer to go back up and try it again.
