- Always always be 100% certain of the species of any mushroom before consuming. Some mushrooms can kill you or make you extremely sick. This is the common Deer Mushroom. They are very easy to find especially after rain on rotting wood. They only grow on wood. The closest look-alike is an Entoloma.
Keep the videos coming Cody, we need them even more than ever these days. Don't know if Deer Mushrooms grow in the uk ( where I am ) but we have plenty of easily identifiable mushrooms that do.
I really like the foraging vids. I want to teach my son how to prepare a meal if hes ever lost in the woods...not just survive but thrive!
I like ray Mears. If they are a hefty bushman then they know how to get food.
Hey brotha can you do a series on edible plants & insects or whatnot you find in the woods? Particularly for survival situations. I know you can blanch acorns, I know about chicken of the woods, morels, and I’ve found and eaten pawpaws. Would love to learn what things I can eat from Mother Nature in my own back yard.
I recently did a video on 4 edible plants that commonly grow in peoples yards.
@@CavemanCody I'll check it out--thanks!
Good to know!
Binge watching😁
Nice I met a guy that grows them.its a complicated process
Thanks I love mushrooms
Beautiful!
very informative ill be posting this on my mushroom fb page if thats ok bro? The mushroom safe space
Go for it!
Thanks for these videos. I'm scared to even attempt mushrooms because knowing my luck I would eat a poisonous one
Mushroom eating is like pills. Sure a few pills could kill you but it's such a low number, I get it, who wants to mess around with death, but if you know what you're doing it's relatively safe.
What about the mushrooms that grow on grass
do they grow on motlt hard wood trees?
Dan and hobbies dead rotten trees from spring through autumn.
I found some of them growing in my back yard from a tree root. Right next to them was big flat orange mushroom.
I broke off a small piece; it’s very tough & smells like wood.
What could it be?
I’m not gonna eat them
They do here here in nc .. i didn't know u cn eat em.
What about the mushrooms called buttons that grow in bunches or clusters are they eatable?
There are many mushrooms that grow in clusters.
The button mushrooms you buy from the store are a version of the portobello mushroom. Other than button variety of portobello I do not know what species you are referencing to
@@CavemanCody You will find them growing from rotted wood, tree stumps in clusters, they are tan in color. I don't know the name however..
I'm disliking because you don't show us the mushroom
Disliking your comment for being stupid
