I found this while trying to troubleshoot other issues with the parking lights. I just wanted to say that after removing the lower dash panel, it's possible to remove the headlight switch from below without taking off any of the upper dash. After disconnecting the switch stem and the threaded retainer, you have to reach your hand up from below, pull off the ground wire first. I always just purposely break off the wire loom plastic locking tabs next (they aren't important. There's zero chance of the wires accidentally disconnecting), then the wiring connector can come off with some careful force being sure to not pull on the wires as they can break off and then it's turned into a much longer project. After that you have to play with different orientations but with the correct positioning it comes out from the bottom with little trouble.
I'm glad you like the videos. I appreciate you wantching. I try to keep everything relatable. I never really know what people will enjoy watching or what they'll think is boring. Thanks again 👍🏼
I know this is not the most recent video, but, my xj is doing the same thing, and I also don’t have the running lights in the rear, did you happen to notice that on yours as well?
Mine did have some running lights out but the bulbs were bad. I don't know if there was any connection between the two or what. Once I changed the switch, then the bulbs everything worked fine.
I found it online I think. I'm pretty sure I just looked through the listings until I saw one that looked like the one I had. I "think" it might be a GM switch but I'm not sure. Maybe a parts store employee can help you track one down. It's been awhile so I can't remember all of the details.
Fuse under hood are good tail lights work brake lights work turn signal lights work but front park an fron signal lights don't work an Head lights don't work 92 Cherokee
Maybe a bad connection or front harness. Pretty hard to tell. I wish I could help more. Just start tracing wires with power and you'll eventually find the problem
Crazy. Switch powers a fuse. Wow. Great video. Lots of helpful info and tips. Be safe and stay well.
Thanks, Brian. Yeah, it's kinda weird how it works. I'm glad it's fixed and thanks for watching 👍🏼
Knowledge is power.
Time saver. Thank you
I appreciate it. I'm glad the info is helping people. 👍🏼👍🏼

Good to know. I couldn't get my hand up there without getting all scratched up. 👍🏼
I am always watching your vids but just thumps up. You show common problems that most don't show. Good job keep it up.
Oh one more thing that does it on that dodge van you worked on.👍

So I am having the same issue but I can’t seem to find the switch that has the ground tab and all the right plugs. Where did you find your switch?
