For my birthday in August my aunt used some of his life insurance to get me a guitar as his final gift to me. Terra Naomi posted this song shortly after and it brought me to tears when I heard it. First song I learned to play on a guitar and I played it for so many for years as I slowly spiraled into a drug fueled nightmare. Been sober nearly 10 years now but I still come back here from time to time to remember my tios last gift to me. I still play this song for my family and my son every chance I get. He used to take her to the doctors and give her the medication every day. After she passed away we both were broken and more so him. It's all empty now without her. Every time I listen to this song.. I think of my father.. What he was going through every day when she was unwell. This line.. The drugs don't work anymore.. It might mean something else in the song.. But I take the drugs as meds here for my mom and how my father must have felt. He and me.. We're here now.. Feel empty.. We miss her. Its her birthday on 13th May.. Happy birthday mom.. We love you
