Yo keezy to help with the hair decision especially with if you want a bun, it takes around 7-9 months for it to be put in a bun. I started growing my hair out last year in June but in January of this year I could already use a bun that goes to the back. My hair looked like yours when I started. Depending and how frequently you cut it and what type of bun you want I should be possible to have a bun in like 9 months. The only product I used for my hair was mainly hair spray but now I use more products and curl/wave my hair since my hair is straight. Hopefully this helps on deciding.
I also forgot to mention I blow dried my hair a lot and used the hairspray along side it not sure if you already do that but it helped me with style when I had my hair back.
Originally I grew my hair out so I can move away from using hair spray (or using less product) but I’m realizing that as it grows I’m using way more than I normally do…. But iono I may trim it this week and then decide on a new hair style later.
