That’s the Erie Canal not Tonawanda Creek. Although the creek does run parallel ❤️

I give this man all the respect in the world. ..being black in Kenmore .town of Tonawanda .Tonawanda .and north ..this young man is risking his life by the police and judges..they are most corrupt and violent and pure racism .

I live down the road from here there’s a lot of cool places but harder to find Oliver street used to be really nice but it’s more of a dangerous street to be and if you live on the water it’s like being in the country and the city

7:23 We used to climb up onto that huge cement block and I was in high school. At night!!!! Almost as scary as walking the chutes bridge at night.

0:53 We used to climb to the top of the concrete counter weight and get high in 1972. In the dark no less.

WWII Oliver St., was known to have the most bars on one street in the world, in Rigley's Believe it or not!

Legend has that VARY FEW people did a bar crawl when the st was all bars at the time, and they managed to finish the ENTIRE street...I think.

My Dad grew up on Linwood Ave in N. Tonawanda. Each Summer we kids had to endure the long drive from our home in Indiana to NT to see my Grandparents. Haven't been for over 40 yrs! Nice to see the town again. Thanks!

@@davidslife989 My friend's father worked at International Paper and a bunch of them took the challenge and stopped at every bar on Oliver Street and had one drink per bar. They actually made it but they were all alcoholics anyway so no one thought it was a big accomplishment !!!

My grandfather worked for Remington Rand many years ago. We kids sometimes drove him crazy when we visited his house.
I remember asking “Hey Grandma, where’s Grampie?” “Oh he went down to Oliver Street.”

Ironically or maybe not so much, I live in Wheatfield but everything I do is in NT or Amherst or NF or other areas besides my awesome lovely town of Wheatfield. I wonder if that means anything...whom keep up the GREAT work. I do to focus on the WNY community with walks mostly, and eating more so at small town places. Which local eatery have you gotten to recently? I did one up the street from me at Sawyer Creek...HEY there IS something to do in the town of wheatfield EAT!

N.T is diverse it has a large LGBT community and many nationalities. It's a beautiful place to live, I moved from Riverside to N.T because I am a RiverRat and crave the water ways but wanted a safer community, I lived there for 6yrs. My favorite area of WNY.

Like it or not there is not a lot of diversity so it has a low crime rate. That is a statistical fact.
