I've suffered many deep, debilitating depressive episodes during my life, but I never even thought of harming anyone. I can't understand these brothers
This is just my thoughts, the father was very successful and I would think the boys were expected to do as well. A neighbor said the 19 yo was a computer programmer and he was depressed. I thought since he and the brother made the pact, they knew the father would be upset and a shamed, so they "took him with them" and thus they had to take all 3 women, since they wouldn't be able to get along, if the men were gone.

According to the long note the son left he said if he just took himself the family would be miserable. I assume he saw the women as dependent on the men in the family and they wouldn't be able to get along with the 3 of them gone. This was the thinking of two very sick young men.

B4 calling them selfish and don't have ALL of the facts...Everyone is speculating...For all we know there are very very deep-rooted issues in the home that unfortunately lead to the crime by the two brothers and for an individual to say she had knowledge of him cutting himself prior for some time...She definitely had evidence of something serious going on with him mentally and I wonder if she further brought it to proper authorities or said nothing until the tragic murders 🤔...Jmt
What baffles me is that the two of the brothers sat down and hatched this plan out. How could two people have such evil, similar thoughts? just weird.... /and they looked like a perfectly normal family.
It's a messed up world they planned to take their own lives in a year but because pressure got to them and emotions they acted faster they say in the letter they took their families lives because they didn't want them to be sad after there 2 sons killed themselves and they didn't want them to take the heat from media and all that would come with the news afterwards It's very sad I have the letters screen shotted they kept getting taken down and the news only showed you the lighter things from the letter there is so much more detail in them it's just shocking to read it.
That's the point you can fool people to think you are ok it was not hatched it was in their minds maybe they tried to deal with it and figured out they cannot live with the pain anymore. This is why I always tell a person to listen you might hear something you think not was important but it was something they was trying to tell you all the time..

Who ever told these children that life is about happiness?...life is about all the emotions of being human. Nothing is wrong with being unhappy and if you feel you need help, seek professional help. Maybe we should address these situations in schools. No one is truly happy, living is a daily challenge for many, a challenge we face with great dignity and gratitude. Darn man.

Who told them this? Probably secular education, being fortified by popular culture in media. That is the whole point: if someone deviates from God and adapts a secular lifestyle, then people don't know what is good or wrong anymore nor do they know the purpose of life, so they will take their fundamental world views from deviated liberals and adapt an utilitarian world view, for example: life is about happiness, and what causes the most happiness is deemed good. This is totally wrong. And of somebody isn't happy they think: "what is the purpose of living then?" And they might even kill there own family such that they won't feel the emotional pain of losing their children/brothers. This utilitarianism due to a secular society and education. People need to return to God and his true religion.
Exactly, everyday of a person's life isn't sunshine and roses. Depression, personal loss, and grieving are as much a part of life as partying and having a good time. Too many people today believe they have to be happy, rich or beautiful every second of the day. Life is yin and yang, sometimes you're happy or sad or mad. This is life and we are blessed just being able to wake up everyday, because millions don't get that chance.
Thank god im not the only one who feels this way. Society has brainwashed themselves into thinking you need likes on posts on social media to be fulfilled. The grass is ALWAYS greener. Yet people dont see it. NO ONE in life is really as happy or havubg a great life as much is they try to portray it to be. People stopped just being normal and cant be content with it. Everyones trying to keep up with the jeffersons on fb or social media. People just stopped being happy with what they have in life and have focused on what they dont instead. No ones gonna ever be the richest best looking most talent person who always has cool and awesome things happening. Your not gonna be as popular or athletic ect. As others. And theres nothing wrong with that. Whats wrong with not being special????? Whats wrong with just being a HUMAN BEING. Our society has lost its way.

Visit your local hospital, volunteer and see people old and young suffering in pain and injuries and diseases. You will walk out of their with a grateful heart to be able to breathe and walk and talk. Be thankful. Also please talk to a professional so they can help you.
Don't do that! You can clearly see strangers care about you. If you need to vent or want help I would never judge you brother. I been down some dark roads but there's nothing like the warmth of the light. I will pray for you and I'm here if you need anything
Stay strong, this world needs you. Life sometimes has it's very tough moments but those bad moments don't last forever. Whenever I went through bad times reading Psalms and the new testament, and praying really helped me. Stay strong!
It takes a killer to kill not to suicide he might killed everyone then felt so guilty that he killed himself. Imagine leaving your own country to immigrate for your children's future and their future is to kill you. This is so tragic

I feel like it has grown according to statistics like this. Same time were eating worse and worse. So much we dont do today in regards to knowing what our body needs. I just feel like this is so many things combined over the last 50 yrs or more. We have to be willing to change. Forget all the junk were fed. We all have to take responsibility for our living. Grow your own food. Try to buy grass fed beef chicken etc locally and help one another. We do have to take better care of our own before we can reach out to further communities. Things are changing in this world.

I have sympathy for those suffering from depression and have suicidal thoughts. What's hard for me to accept is them taking others with them. That decision was not theirs to make at all. So unfair!
I’ve been battling with depression since middle and high school and even throughout college years. What type of sick mind would kill their family all because of their own whims and faults. Sick minded individuals.
what happens if some ppl called you to your face or behind your back cruel names for having a mental illness, for being depressed? Made assumptions about you and thought you might kill urself. (honest, I don't mean or think any of this to you). They had a sick mind, that is why they had a severe mental illness. They were not able to think rationally, sanely, logically or anyway, that you would. To them, killing their family was love bc they knew they would be suffering. As you said, who kills their family? No one in their right mind would. Well, there is that answer for you. They were not in their right mind, their intent was not done on evil pretense. We need to have empathy and an open mind as to why it happened and try to learn from it. Learn by it, meaning if you know anyone else feeling depressed or have severe suffering. Try and talk to them, get them to talk, show that you care. We have to see warning signs but we can't if we judge and make assumptions and not have empathy.

I have had depression at multiple occasions sometime my reason was big and sometimes small. Once in middle school after my favorite book character died (ik it's dumb but yeah). Once in middle school when my father passed away, once in middle school when my bff mother passed away. (I was close to her mother) but never did I think of killing anyone.

There is no one remedy for depression that fits all. Some are far more severe than yours (as these two boys were). Does that mean, yours was any less important, no not at all. Just know that everyone's mental illness is different. Remember back to how you truly felt for example when your bff's mother passed away. Now times that by 500 and add cutting yourself etc...I am saying to have empathy. You will never ever understand what it feels like to think of killing your loved ones with you bc you never got to the place they did.
This is so sad. I read the suicide note on Reddit and it was difficult to read. That boy was mentally exhausted. No matter how much help he received, it would not have prevented this. He was just over it. RIP to those who lost their lives.

The suicide note left makes my stomach turn. His reason for suicide included depression and the ending of the popular show “The Office”. In the note he said they killed their family “out of love”, because he knew they couldn’t bear to go through the pain of knowing their loved one committed suicide. 🥀 praying for the family.

CBT helps cope with the inability to experience pleasure, the medication helps alter brain chemistry to restore its ability to experience it. What makes depression so dangerous is not only because the symptoms lead to people constructing destructive ideologies that can render them a danger to themselves and others, but also because people as a whole simply do not understand it and therefore perpetuate false perceptions and poorly constructed/uneducated opinions which they will then share to others. And the first step to curing that is by acknowledging the difference between being sad temporarily because a family member has died (as everyone in life experiences - and usually recover from albeit maybe scarred and often created irrational thought patters - fixable via cognitive behavioral techniques), and a person who is in a state of anhedonia, whose only capable of experiencing sadness and despair and therefore susceptible to constructing destructive ideologies which makes them dangerous to themselves and others.
What a terrible tragedy. I worked with many Bangladeshis in Saudi Arabia. Very kind and gentle people. I just can't imagine two sons doing this to their family.

I am an NYU student and I was saddened when our dean emailed us about this awful tragedy. I have published work and spoken openly about the importance of mental health throughout our communities. And it's important that we continue a dialogue about the importance of mental health so people can start to get the help that they need. It saddens me greatly to hear about this happening to one of my peers and her entire family. Please be well and know that there are resources available online and in your communities to help you!
And exactly like farhan mentioned...we all talk about mental health but nobody is interested in your story once you start telling them all!!!! Friends or whatever who tell that it's okay to talk to them and later bail out serve as triggers for people who are extremely hurting

@@samystarfish5056 that’s why professional help is needed in the end. Also bit of self initiative for finding the causes of ur issues can help. I’m no expert but have read articles where they talk about how it can be exhausting even for friends and close family to deal with the illness day in and day out- bit of compassion fatigue. Just my 2cents

It was a homicide. Murder/suicide, accidental, self defense killing, drunk driving car crash death, pre planned, etc are all different types of homicide. Homicide just means someone was killed by someone else. Depending on type of homicide they may charge murder 1, 2 or some places 3 or manslaughter. And manslaughter may have different degrees in some courts.
if u are depressed just remember that atleast u have a home and few people who love u but there are people who even aren't fortunate to have these things.

I have contemplated taking my life at a young age and I have been depressed before. It does feel like a black hole with no end in sight. It's easy to become judgmental when the tables can easily be turned. You know this if you're that depressed speak to strangers. It's easy to speak to strangers about problems because they don't judge like family/friends. Sometimes they share their experiences and give good advice🙂
2 young men hatched a plan to kill their entire family, this has many precedents. Depression doesn't lead to mass murder suicide necessarily and one of the boys could have stopped the other! Doesn't make sense tbh that they were both depressed to such an extent as to work out together a well crafted plan to kill everyone. This looks evil and more sinister than just being depressed.
*Depression can make you feel hopeless, and thoughts of Suicide often creep in and I know from experience that these thoughts, if allowed to cycle through the mind, have a very strange, powerful and toxic effect. Its not unusual that if we entertain suicidal thoughts we imagine how people around us would feel if we acted on it. (usually it is when someone has been deeply hurt by a significant other) In the depressed, dark, mindset it can lead to thoughts like "If I did it they would understand the pain they caused me and they would regret it." and it leads to imagining or fantasizing over the idea (This is probably hard to understand unless you've experienced it.) and it gets to the point where this cycles almost obsessively through the mind and I dont know know why, but something about it releases dopamine/endorphins and it actually can become almost addictive to have these thoughts flowing through the mind. This is So dangerous to allow it to reach that point though and its important that the person reject those thoughts right when they start because if you entertain them they Will grow. Its a dark toxic manifestation which grows roots and the longer you feed it and allow it to remain, the more firmly it will entrench itself, the deeper the hole will feel like and the worse the depression will become.* *There is hope even when it doesnt feel possible though, and that hope and healing is found in Christ Jesus. For anyone suffering, dont give in to it, pray and ask Jesus to help and if you dont believe, ask that He work in your life that you may see and feel that He is real. Humble yourself, soften your heart, be open and willing to it, I cant give a timetable or tell you what this might look like because it is different for eveyone. But I encourage anyone to spend some time looking up and watching/reading other peoples personal testimonies/experiences here on RUclips. Countless people who initially didnt believe but through different unique experiences they were made believers and their lives forever changed in ways they never could have expected or imagined, especially at their lowest darkest points.* *I know the struggle all too well, Ive written a suicide note (I was on antidepressants and eventually started to feel better so I thought I didnt need to take the medicine anymore. Well that is litterally the worst thing you can do for depression, Ive never experienced a darker time than that but I was decently young and didnt understand/connect that that was why I experienced the mental health equivalent of falling off a cliff into a pitch black tar pit so to speak.)* *I've also been on the other side of it and have lost I dont even know how many friends to suicide and it cannot be overstated how devastating it is to family and loved ones. Its an eternal solution to a temporary problem and its an incredibly selfish thing to do. Get help, talk to someone, let someone know what youre going through and ask Jesus for help and healing and for strength to hold on and dont ever give up.* *Ill end this with a true 'story' which may add some perspective. Since the Golden Gate Bridge was built there have been something like 300-400 people who have attempted suicide by jumping off of it. Well out of those I think it was only like 10% [1 out of 10] of the jumpers survived the attempt (albeit with devastating injuries). Every Single One of these survivors said that as soon as they jumped, it was like they had sudden clarity and a sudden realization; Immediately they knew they had made a terrible mistake and didnt want to die. I can only assume that the other 90% of the jumpers had the same exact realization but sadly it was too late for them, they wouldn't survive the fall.*

Yes, people can suffer both depression and psychosis at the same time. Psychosis is the part that made them act irrationally. So, yup, in that state this is how THEY showed the “love” for their family. It isn’t that difficult to understand.
I've been in deep depressive episodes for a good part of my life. But, I NEVER even thought about hurting anyone. NEVER. All I wanted was to feel better. I couldn't shower or even brush my teeth for weeks. I cried every morning and put myself back to sleep with a sedative. I slept all day. It was my only escape. I also had terrible brain fog. I couldn't read or write in my planner. One of these brothers wrote an eleven-page suicide note. Eleven pages? I couldn't even write a sentence. And, I am a good writer. If he was truly depressed, that would have been impossible
As a patient suffering from depression myself, I feel exactly the same, if you are not happy then why torment yourself every day, better die. But then the thought of the people connected to me, and the thought of my soul not getting peace because of untimely death, has stopped me from taking my own life. But, it's difficult to live in depression day in day out. But these kids are barely in their adult hood and am just trying to think what could lead them to depression.
This has got to be the most surreal thing for the friends and family. Its already surreal when its a suicide furthermore for the murder of the ENTIRE family. Btw, this is more than just Depression. The brothers, or at least one, had to struggle with other disorders as well.
Asian parents put too much pressure on their children when it comes to education. Sometimes it's better for parents to talk to their children as friends and try to understand what's going on in their lives

15-16yr old me got mental Heath care by myself, for myself at a children’s hospital. If I can get myself help at that age, everyone can. Just don’t give up because the first med didn’t work.

There's always a deeper backstory. Something happened to him around the age of 9 that cost him to start cutting himself. I'm not excusing his actions it just helps to understand when you have the whole picture.
Agreed, treatment for mental illness needs to come up on background checks and knock these sort of people out of being able to purchase. Multiple mass shooters have documented mental illness yet were allowed to buy guns anyway.

Still, life can change, one day you will have chance to help people more and more. You can start like doing small things, Say some encouragement words to someone, support, keep the door open at the grocery store for an old lady, help your family members with small tasks, help a friend etc. There is so many things you can do in this life, so don’t feel helpless. I want to do the same as you, like give millions for charities, to hospitals or people in need, but we can help every day by little until we have the means to do more. Sometimes only a smile or a good word can change someone’s day. We need people like you who want to make this world better so don’t think about ending your life, think about how to be happy and help as much as you can. Sorry for the long text.
I have a theory. I might be wrong. But here's the idea. The parents might have been narcissistic. The parents might have put too much mental pressure on the brothers to get a "perfect" education. Might have forced the kids to be doctors, engineers, etc. Maybe the daughter was the favorite child. Narcissistic parents use psychological manipulation and constant criticism to control their kids. Sometimes the kids don't realize that they are being abused. If the kids lose hope, they will turn into monsters. Despair and hopeless creates monsters and tragedies. This is why you should never lose hope.
We’ll never know but I saw in another news update that the sister (twin of the 19 year old?) had a full scholarship to NYU. I wonder if that added pressure to the other siblings. Such a tragic story all around.
You should read his suicide note. His parents did everything to help him. One of his reason for suicide was the last season was of The Office. He was a pure narcissist

Exactly. The spirits of the children of the fallen angels cannot leave earth because they are half angelic beings. They bounce from person to person who does not have the hedge of protection from God by being saved and repented. This is detailed several times in the bible when the evil spirits ask Jesus to be sent into the pigs whenever he casted out demons from humans. They are stuck on this earth until the time of the end, this is why evil is increasing, we are getting short on time and less people have protection because many have fallen away from God. In Revelation it states to come out of Babylon, which is obviously America. This means to have no part with the current culture and to be alone or with like-minded people. The plagues are starting to hit the earth and millions are about to die, see Psalms 91.
When one kid does something like this, you can simply chalk it up to depression. Both sons?? Clearly, I don't know what was going on in that household, but I'm willing to take a good guess that those two sons were under enormous pressure to succeed and forgo normal childhood activities when they were younger. I'm so sorry this happened and my heart goes out to their extended family and friends.
Don't make assumtions. The suicide note talked about everything. He said he had it all but he wasn't happy. He said they loved their family so much and that's why they hadn't killed themselves earlier. The love of the family kept them going.

Aamen. This story makes my stomach sick. I can’t even imagine their final moments. I used to struggle with mild depression, its a horrible thing. You question the point of everything, what is the point of eating, showering, going to school, studying? No passion for living.
Psychopathy is the real issue. He is shown smirking in his own avatar picture. He was unhappy/dissatisfied because he hated going to school and didn't want to work for a living. Didn't want to leave the house or move out on his own. The two brothers wanted to do nothing but sit around all day watching TV and playing video games, while mom and dad did all the work to support and care for them. He was kicked out of college after confiding to his roommate his desire to kill his family (according to the Washington Post). So although he made excuses and shifted the blame elsewhere, he clearly always hated his family. Although he protested "too much" that he loved them and gave that as the reason for murdering them in cold blood, the truth is that at least subconsciously he really hated them because they disagreed with his chosen lifestyle. He must have known that they would never allow him to loaf around the house for the rest of his life.
The unrealistic expectations set by their media consumption may have triggered depression. Life isn't about just happiness, it's the pursuit of it. And happiness isn't objective; we all vary. The kids may not only have been suffering from depression but might have also been developing into being psychopaths. It's terrifying how our inner monsters can consume us and fill us with loathing for life, for people, for ourselves.

This is just my thoughts, the father was very successful and I would think the boys were expected to do as well. A neighbor said the 19 yo was a computer programmer and he was depressed. I thought since he and the brother made the pact, they knew the father would be upset and a shamed, so they "took him with them" and thus they had to take all 3 women, since they wouldn't be able to get along, if the men were gone.

According to the long note the son left he said if he just took himself the family would be miserable. I assume he saw the women as dependent on the men in the family and they wouldn't be able to get along with the 3 of them gone. This was the thinking of two very sick young men.

It's a messed up world they planned to take their own lives in a year but because pressure got to them and emotions they acted faster they say in the letter they took their families lives because they didn't want them to be sad after there 2 sons killed themselves and they didn't want them to take the heat from media and all that would come with the news afterwards
It's very sad I have the letters screen shotted they kept getting taken down and the news only showed you the lighter things from the letter there is so much more detail in them it's just shocking to read it.

Who ever told these children that life is about happiness?...life is about all the emotions of being human. Nothing is wrong with being unhappy and if you feel you need help, seek professional help. Maybe we should address these situations in schools. No one is truly happy, living is a daily challenge for many, a challenge we face with great dignity and gratitude. Darn man.

Who told them this? Probably secular education, being fortified by popular culture in media. That is the whole point: if someone deviates from God and adapts a secular lifestyle, then people don't know what is good or wrong anymore nor do they know the purpose of life, so they will take their fundamental world views from deviated liberals and adapt an utilitarian world view, for example: life is about happiness, and what causes the most happiness is deemed good. This is totally wrong. And of somebody isn't happy they think: "what is the purpose of living then?" And they might even kill there own family such that they won't feel the emotional pain of losing their children/brothers. This utilitarianism due to a secular society and education.

Exactly, everyday of a person's life isn't sunshine and roses. Depression, personal loss, and grieving are as much a part of life as partying and having a good time. Too many people today believe they have to be happy, rich or beautiful every second of the day. Life is yin and yang, sometimes you're happy or sad or mad. This is life and we are blessed just being able to wake up everyday, because millions don't get that chance.
Thank god im not the only one who feels this way. Society has brainwashed themselves into thinking you need likes on posts on social media to be fulfilled. The grass is ALWAYS greener. Yet people dont see it. NO ONE in life is really as happy or havubg a great life as much is they try to portray it to be. People stopped just being normal and cant be content with it. Everyones trying to keep up with the jeffersons on fb or social media. People just stopped being happy with what they have in life and have focused on what they dont instead. No ones gonna ever be the richest best looking most talent person who always has cool and awesome things happening. Your not gonna be as popular or athletic ect. As others. And theres nothing wrong with that. Whats wrong with not being special????? Whats wrong with just being a HUMAN BEING. Our society has lost its way.

I just feel like this is so many things combined over the last 50 yrs or more. We have to be willing to change. Forget all the junk were fed. We all have to take responsibility for our living. Grow your own food. Try to buy grass fed beef chicken etc locally and help one another. We do have to take better care of our own before we can reach out to further communities. Things are changing in this world.

(honest, I don't mean or think any of this to you). They had a sick mind, that is why they had a severe mental illness. They were not able to think rationally, sanely, logically or anyway, that you would. To them, killing their family was love bc they knew they would be suffering. As you said, who kills their family? No one in their right mind would. Well, there is that answer for you. They were not in their right mind, their intent was not done on evil pretense. We need to have empathy and an open mind as to why it happened and try to learn from it. Learn by it, meaning if you know anyone else feeling depressed or have severe suffering. Try and talk to them, get them to talk, show that you care. We have to see warning signs but we can't if we judge and make assumptions and not have empathy.

I have had depression at multiple occasions sometime my reason was big and sometimes small. Once in middle school after my favorite book character died (ik it's dumb but yeah). Once in middle school when my father passed away, once in middle school when my bff mother passed away. (I was close to her mother) but never did I think of killing anyone.

There is no one remedy for depression that fits all. Some are far more severe than yours (as these two boys were). Does that mean, yours was any less important, no not at all. Just know that everyone's mental illness is different. Remember back to how you truly felt for example when your bff's mother passed away. Now times that by 500 and add cutting yourself etc...I am saying to have empathy. You will never ever understand what it feels like to think of killing your loved ones with you bc you never got to the place they did.
This is so sad. I read the suicide note on Reddit and it was difficult to read. That boy was mentally exhausted. No matter how much help he received, it would not have prevented this. He was just over it. RIP to those who lost their lives.

Everyone says psychology is an easy class to take, but nobody actually gives a damn about it. Just like anything else, all that matters is the grade, so allow me to enlighten you.
You can't just will yourself to be happy if you have severe clinical depression. The reason why the medication doesn't work on most people is because the word "depression" is thrown around like a ten dollar hooker, and people think depression is just some stereotypical sadness (hence the term "happy pills"), when in reality, sadness and despair are often irrational constructions, produced in response to an inability to enjoy life. Hence, why CBT is often used to treat it, along side prescribed medication. CBT helps cope with the inability to experience pleasure, the medication helps alter brain chemistry to restore its ability to experience it.
What makes depression so dangerous is not only because the symptoms lead to people constructing destructive ideologies that can render them a danger to themselves and others, but also because people as a whole simply do not understand it and therefore perpetuate false perceptions and poorly constructed/uneducated opinions which they will then share to others. And the first step to curing that is by acknowledging the difference between being sad temporarily because a family member has died (as everyone in life experiences - and usually recover from albeit maybe scarred and often created irrational thought patters - fixable via cognitive behavioral techniques), and a person who is in a state of anhedonia, whose only capable of experiencing sadness and despair and therefore susceptible to constructing destructive ideologies which makes them dangerous to themselves and others.

I am an NYU student and I was saddened when our dean emailed us about this awful tragedy. I have published work and spoken openly about the importance of mental health throughout our communities. And it's important that we continue a dialogue about the importance of mental health so people can start to get the help that they need. It saddens me greatly to hear about this happening to one of my peers and her entire family. Please be well and know that there are resources available online and in your communities to help you!
And exactly like farhan mentioned...we all talk about mental health but nobody is interested in your story once you start telling them all!!!! Friends or whatever who tell that it's okay to talk to them and later bail out serve as triggers for people who are extremely hurting

It was a homicide. Murder/suicide, accidental, self defense killing, drunk driving car crash death, pre planned, etc are all different types of homicide. Homicide just means someone was killed by someone else. Depending on type of homicide they may charge murder 1, 2 or some places 3 or manslaughter. And manslaughter may have different degrees in some courts.

2 young men hatched a plan to kill their entire family, this has many precedents. Depression doesn't lead to mass murder suicide necessarily and one of the boys could have stopped the other! Doesn't make sense tbh that they were both depressed to such an extent as to work out together a well crafted plan to kill everyone. This looks evil and more sinister than just being depressed.

*Depression can make you feel hopeless, and thoughts of Suicide often creep in and I know from experience that these thoughts, if allowed to cycle through the mind, have a very strange, powerful and toxic effect. Its not unusual that if we entertain suicidal thoughts we imagine how people around us would feel if we acted on it. (usually it is when someone has been deeply hurt by a significant other) In the depressed, dark, mindset it can lead to thoughts like "If I did it they would understand the pain they caused me and they would regret it." and it leads to imagining or fantasizing over the idea (This is probably hard to understand unless you've experienced it.) and it gets to the point where this cycles almost obsessively through the mind and I dont know know why, but something about it releases dopamine/endorphins and it actually can become almost addictive to have these thoughts flowing through the mind. This is So dangerous to allow it to reach that point though and its important that the person reject those thoughts right when they start because if you entertain them they Will grow. Its a dark toxic manifestation which grows roots and the longer you feed it and allow it to remain, the more firmly it will entrench itself, the deeper the hole will feel like and the worse the depression will become.*
*There is hope even when it doesnt feel possible though, and that hope and healing is found in Christ Jesus. For anyone suffering, dont give in to it, pray and ask Jesus to help and if you dont believe, ask that He work in your life that you may see and feel that He is real. Humble yourself, soften your heart, be open and willing to it, I cant give a timetable or tell you what this might look like because it is different for eveyone. But I encourage anyone to spend some time looking up and watching/reading other peoples personal testimonies/experiences here on RUclips. Countless people who initially didnt believe but through different unique experiences they were made believers and their lives forever changed in ways they never could have expected or imagined, especially at their lowest darkest points.*
*I know the struggle all too well, Ive written a suicide note (I was on antidepressants and eventually started to feel better so I thought I didnt need to take the medicine anymore. Well that is litterally the worst thing you can do for depression, Ive never experienced a darker time than that but I was decently young and didnt understand/connect that that was why I experienced the mental health equivalent of falling off a cliff into a pitch black tar pit so to speak.)*
*I've also been on the other side of it and have lost I dont even know how many friends to suicide and it cannot be overstated how devastating it is to family and loved ones. Its an eternal solution to a temporary problem and its an incredibly selfish thing to do. Get help, talk to someone, let someone know what youre going through and ask Jesus for help and healing and for strength to hold on and dont ever give up.*
*Ill end this with a true 'story' which may add some perspective. Since the Golden Gate Bridge was built there have been something like 300-400 people who have attempted suicide by jumping off of it. Well out of those I think it was only like 10% [1 out of 10] of the jumpers survived the attempt (albeit with devastating injuries). Every Single One of these survivors said that as soon as they jumped, it was like they had sudden clarity and a sudden realization; Immediately they knew they had made a terrible mistake and didnt want to die. I can only assume that the other 90% of the jumpers had the same exact realization but sadly it was too late for them, they wouldn't survive the fall.*

Yes, people can suffer both depression and psychosis at the same time. Psychosis is the part that made them act irrationally. So, yup, in that state this is how THEY showed the “love” for their family. It isn’t that difficult to understand.
I've been in deep depressive episodes for a good part of my life. But, I NEVER even thought about hurting anyone. NEVER. All I wanted was to feel better. I couldn't shower or even brush my teeth for weeks. I cried every morning and put myself back to sleep with a sedative. I slept all day. It was my only escape. I also had terrible brain fog. I couldn't read or write in my planner. One of these brothers wrote an eleven-page suicide note. Eleven pages? I couldn't even write a sentence. And, I am a good writer. If he was truly depressed, that would have been impossible

As a patient suffering from depression myself, I feel exactly the same, if you are not happy then why torment yourself every day, better die. But then the thought of the people connected to me, and the thought of my soul not getting peace because of untimely death, has stopped me from taking my own life. But, it's difficult to live in depression day in day out. But these kids are barely in their adult hood and am just trying to think what could lead them to depression.
This has got to be the most surreal thing for the friends and family. Its already surreal when its a suicide furthermore for the murder of the ENTIRE family. Btw, this is more than just Depression. The brothers, or at least one, had to struggle with other disorders as well.

Asian parents put too much pressure on their children when it comes to education. Sometimes it's better for parents to talk to their children as friends and try to understand what's going on in their lives

15-16yr old me got mental Heath care by myself, for myself at a children’s hospital. If I can get myself help at that age, everyone can. Just don’t give up because the first med didn’t work.
That’s not a behavior of someone who is suicidal. If they planned this all out it makes me think they just had a desire to kill. It’s all really sad.

There's always a deeper backstory. Something happened to him around the age of 9 that cost him to start cutting himself. I'm not excusing his actions it just helps to understand when you have the whole picture.
What else is there to understand? They murdered their own family in cold blood, then they killed themselves. Selfish inhumane little cowards.

Agreed, treatment for mental illness needs to come up on background checks and knock these sort of people out of being able to purchase. Multiple mass shooters have documented mental illness yet were allowed to buy guns anyway.
Or it seems like the problem might of started in the home ? Maybe this new generation of social media , or how nobody cares to go out and love anymore ? Lock downs , stress , financials , mental illness is a huge problem . Guns don’t have legs

I’m in depression rn but not for the reasons you think,I’m depressed because of how the world is,there’s not a day where I don’t think about others dying,innocent people and I can’t do a thing to help them,I’m not Superman and the feeling of being useless knowing people are out there dying makes me depressed and mad at the world,I even have suicidal thoughts about killing myself for being so useless and seeing this bud made me cry no cap bruh shits ain’t fair.
Still, life can change, one day you will have chance to help people more and more. You can start like doing small things, Say some encouragement words to someone, support, keep the door open at the grocery store for an old lady, help your family members with small tasks, help a friend etc. There is so many things you can do in this life, so don’t feel helpless. I want to do the same as you, like give millions for charities, to hospitals or people in need, but we can help every day by little until we have the means to do more. Sometimes only a smile or a good word can change someone’s day. We need people like you who want to make this world better so don’t think about ending your life, think about how to be happy and help as much as you can. Sorry for the long text.

I have a theory. I might be wrong. But here's the idea. The parents might have been narcissistic. The parents might have put too much mental pressure on the brothers to get a "perfect" education. Might have forced the kids to be doctors, engineers, etc. Maybe the daughter was the favorite child. Narcissistic parents use psychological manipulation and constant criticism to control their kids. Sometimes the kids don't realize that they are being abused. If the kids lose hope, they will turn into monsters. Despair and hopeless creates monsters and tragedies. This is why you should never lose hope.
We’ll never know but I saw in another news update that the sister (twin of the 19 year old?) had a full scholarship to NYU. I wonder if that added pressure to the other siblings. Such a tragic story all around.
You should read his suicide note. His parents did everything to help him. One of his reason for suicide was the last season was of The Office. He was a pure narcissist

Exactly. The spirits of the children of the fallen angels cannot leave earth because they are half angelic beings. They bounce from person to person who does not have the hedge of protection from God by being saved and repented. This is detailed several times in the bible when the evil spirits ask Jesus to be sent into the pigs whenever he casted out demons from humans. They are stuck on this earth until the time of the end, this is why evil is increasing, we are getting short on time and less people have protection because many have fallen away from God. In Revelation it states to come out of Babylon, which is obviously America. This means to have no part with the current culture and to be alone or with like-minded people. The plagues are starting to hit the earth and millions are about to die, see Psalms 91.
When one kid does something like this, you can simply chalk it up to depression. Both sons?? Clearly, I don't know what was going on in that household, but I'm willing to take a good guess that those two sons were under enormous pressure to succeed and forgo normal childhood activities when they were younger. I'm so sorry this happened and my heart goes out to their extended family and friends.

The suicide note talked about everything. He said he had it all but he wasn't happy. He said they loved their family so much and that's why they hadn't killed themselves earlier. The love of the family kept them going.
And depression runs in families. Sometimes no cause other than genetics.

Aamen. This story makes my stomach sick. I can’t even imagine their final moments. I used to struggle with mild depression, its a horrible thing. You question the point of everything, what is the point of eating, showering, going to school, studying? No passion for living.

Psychopathy is the real issue. He is shown smirking in his own avatar picture. He was unhappy/dissatisfied because he hated going to school and didn't want to work for a living. Didn't want to leave the house or move out on his own. The two brothers wanted to do nothing but sit around all day watching TV and playing video games, while mom and dad did all the work to support and care for them. He was kicked out of college after confiding to his roommate his desire to kill his family (according to the Washington Post). So although he made excuses and shifted the blame elsewhere, he clearly always hated his family. Although he protested "too much" that he loved them and gave that as the reason for murdering them in cold blood, the truth is that at least subconsciously he really hated them because they disagreed with his chosen lifestyle. He must have known that they would never allow him to loaf around the house for the rest of his life.

The unrealistic expectations set by their media consumption may have triggered depression. Life isn't about just happiness, it's the pursuit of it. And happiness isn't objective; we all vary. The kids may not only have been suffering from depression but might have also been developing into being psychopaths. It's terrifying how our inner monsters can consume us and fill us with loathing for life, for people, for ourselves.
