The idea of a mockumentary cop show where the cops are monster hunters actually sounds pretty cool. The first improvement I would advise is filming it with cameras, rather than a potato.
@@DarkExcalibur42 Yeah, Death Valley was absolutely amazing. Even had an interesting storyline. But MTV was all reality tv crap back then and nobody expected to find such a great show on there. So nobody watched it. greetings from germany
was anybody else surprised that Pregs & Phelan didn't know who David "the Rock" Nelson is? i kinda figured as b-movie aficionados, they'd have heard of him. i wouldn't say the guy's prolific necessarily. but he's definitely carrying on the spiritual legacy of Ed Wood. and for anyone who doesn't know who he is - check out the Vice Channel piece they did on him. If you liked American Movie, you'd like this.
True story: In 1994 when Ed Wood came out, we exited the theater (it was the Los Feliz next to Hollywood) when we were approached by none other than Conrad Brooks! Trying to sell us some of his crappy movies on VHS! We didn't buy.
I got this little cool Ghostbusters toy here in front of me, so I gotta watch a Phelous video. I got a little toy Slimer here, too. And I got a toy Egon Spengler, too. It's really cool. I gotta watch a Phelous video, I'll talk to you later. Yeah, I got this plastic Ninja Turtle figure, too. I got this plushy Shredder toy too - it's cool, it rocks. And I got a little Krang toy too. I gotta watch Phelous videos tonight. I gotta eat enough food so I got enough energy to watch Phelous videos tonight. I got this giant Michaelangelo toy here, it's cool. And I got a giant Technodrome vehicle here, it's cool. I also got this cartoon DVD from Goodtimes Entertainment, man - it's really cool. And I got this really cool Dingo Pictures DVD. I gotta eat, so I got enough energy to watch Phelous videos tonight. Man, a knock-off Batman toy, he's cool. I gotta watch Phelous videos. I'm gonna be busy watching Phelous videos - I don't want any more comments tonight!
Got this Steffi Love in fronna me, it's pretty cool, gotta watch Bootleg Zones tonight. Yeah, got this Motorcycle the Pooh here, pretty cool, gotta have energy to watch Bootleg Zones tonight. Uuh, got this Evil Stick here, yeah it's pretty cool, gonna watch Bootleg Zones tonight so I gotta eat some food. Got this little Big Cock here, it's cool, yeah, gotta watch Bootleg Zones tonight.
Ugh...are you sure it was Transylvania and not Pennsylvania? Cause the building in one of those shots, the one with the cheap siren, looks like the place I go to pay my water bill.
David the Rock Nelson is known for making movies like this, where he runs around with his camera, wearing a mask or waving a devil ant prop, and running into people as if he's attacking them. He hits things with bricks.
I think the only version of this idea that might be funny is the Monster Squad basically wandering into the middle of horror movies in progress and derailing them.
The concept of COPS in Transylvania and taking care of various monsters on different cases could work and even be stupidly awesome. Yet, the execution here is complete shit and makes The Time Machine (I found at a Yard Sale) look mildly professional.
Hey guys just try this, i think this is very first online generaaatoor for Monster Squad, just add unlimited gold and prisms twitter.com/6a5a5c52a26368ac2/status/754887106128809985 Transylvania Police Monster Squad 2001 Mooovie Nights
Check out the Vice documentary on David "the Rock" Nelson, he's just this old weirdo, this grown man who plays with rubber bats and spiders and shit. Dresses like Dracula and makes movies as bad or worse than this..Occasionally they would put him on the local news in Chicago. Weathermen loved his ass.
Is he like that grown man weirdo who records himself talking about children's movie adaptations of Beauty & the Beast and himself playing with bootlegs of Barbie dolls? That weirdo is not dope. What was his name again?
If anything, more structure and better preparation. It needs a script, better filmography, and better editing. Even if the actors are bad and the camera is cheap.
The thing is this could have actually been funny had they put efforts in the jokes. Like the "the Rock" thing? That could be someone outside the precinct calling to complain about all the monster calls he gets "Werewolves don't even exist!" "What about Cyclops?" "no, Cyclops don't exist" and THEN you cut to officer Cyclops looking hurt. Or like the veterinarian giving a werewolf his human medication by wrapping it in cheese and rubbing his throat. Or the vampire tries to argue with the search warrant, says garlic is a food allergy, and argues that on private property he can prevent visitors from wearing crosses. And it's like in Transylvania New York or something. "No, no that Transylvania but we get a lot of the same stuff here". And this crap I just came up with on the spot. Or they could lean harder on the COPS spoof with video effects and music. ANY kind of effort. The only time I laughed was the sasquatch car chase in a surreal way. There's a premise: just have the monsters be citizens of a town and humans have to be their PD so it's just ordinary crimes done by monsters. ANYTHING. ANY EFFORT WHATSOEVER.
They could do a ton of reviews on Conrad Brooks films as there are a bunch of these flicks that he's in. Or they couldn't as they don't really look all that good to me.
I found those bakula shirts on the site tee public after watching her old videos. I got a long sleeve of it.most ppl don't get to it .I made Scott bakula rap on my RUclips channel with the shirt on.lol
I find that more interesting. I really enjoy just listening to people discuss the movie and give honest thoughts without it being too focused on being scripted. It's like hanging out with some cool people and talking films, which I love to do.
Wait, did you say "Doug's OLD place"??? Not that its anybodies' business but he did film a lot there and it would be a little sad to hear its gone now, lol.
Hey just found this and I loved the review of the movie. I was the first cop, Lamar Floyd and the werewolf in this. Do you only review movies? I have a youtube channel now and make short films and skits for fun if you feel like checking it out.

Death Valley, cancelled TV show from MTV. I really liked it!

The second would be to hire actual scriptwriters. The third would be to hire actual actors.
True story: In 1994 when Ed Wood came out, we exited the theater (it was the Los Feliz next to Hollywood) when we were approached by none other than Conrad Brooks! Trying to sell us some of his crappy movies on VHS! We didn't buy.
I love Phelan's brutal honesty.
Me too!!
We need a Phelous silhouette dancing in the intro.
Yes! I bet Phelan would have some amazing moves
I said that so often. Just as a gag for one episode.
"Hey we need you to adlib some dialogue about these monster toys"
"ok" *repeats the same sentence 10 times*
"Hey, I got this little toy on my desk, it's cool! Gotta watch monster movies tonight."
The nostalgic Movie Night's intro relaxes me so much!
Stay gangsta, fellas!
Monster parking in a handicap space is pretty fucking funny as a concept though

13:15 Wait a minute, I need to be sure of two things: Is he going to watch monster movies and is it really cool? Because I honestly can't tell.
As someone who works at a public library - I have experienced people like that boring detective guy far, far too often
Ugh...are you sure it was Transylvania and not Pennsylvania? Cause the building in one of those shots, the one with the cheap siren, looks like the place I go to pay my water bill.
The horror
I wouldn't mind seeing a legit version of this idea.
Death Valley (TV series). :) the same tone, a bigger budget and better script. :)
I was thinking like a skit from SNL or Key and Peele. Like Reno 911 but they're chasing monsters and it's only twenty or so minutes.
Can't believe what crap is allowed to be released on DVD.
I'm surprised you guys found a Shot on Shitteo that Brad didn't find first!
David the Rock Nelson is known for making movies like this, where he runs around with his camera, wearing a mask or waving a devil ant prop, and running into people as if he's attacking them. He hits things with bricks.
Lupa's hair is on point in this video.
The gun top to the cleaning spray is priceless.
Aw dude, I got this action figure here super cool. Gonna go watch some monster movies.
according to imdb, Dave the rock nelson played "man holding sign" in groundhog day, so quite the thespian
Siren sounds like it came from one of those cheap laser gun toys.
I think the only version of this idea that might be funny is the Monster Squad basically wandering into the middle of horror movies in progress and derailing them.
This feels like some family's home video that wasn't meant to be made public, with Conrad Brooks spliced in for some reason.
The concept of COPS in Transylvania and taking care of various monsters on different cases could work and even be stupidly awesome. Yet, the execution here is complete shit and makes The Time Machine (I found at a Yard Sale) look mildly professional.
there was a tv show with a similar concept MTV i think.. it was amusing on occasion
Now with leaf crunching action
Points for the Bakula T-Shirt
this video inspired me to rewatch The Monster Squad (1987).

Phelous's FACE right at the beginning. XDDDDD
Watching monster movies. Little monster toys. It's really cool! Monster movies, gotta have energy for them, little werewolf toys, it's really cooool
That is just how Dave "The Rock" Nelson is all the time
Yep. Dave Nelson is awesome.
His section of the documentary "Rewind This" is great and his ending speech is pretty inspirational.
Gonna watch those monster movies.
13:20 is Phelan's best rant ever!!
I looks about as competant as the Channel Awesome movies
That guy with the models and food wanting to watch Monster Movies - Secretary of Agriculture
It's a little known fact that werewolves love rolling in leaves, and are easy to scare.
Check out the Vice documentary on David "the Rock" Nelson, he's just this old weirdo, this grown man who plays with rubber bats and spiders and shit. I'll just stick with regular Monster Squad from 1987, thank you very much. Good thing I got the 2-disc DVD earlier this year.
The actual concept is kinda hilarious. But it needs to be done with, like, a budget, a script, production, actors. Basically everything.
If anything, more structure and better preparation. It needs a script, better filmography, and better editing. Even if the actors are bad and the camera is cheap.
That skull from the chicken bucket, is it covered in gravy ? as its glossy and brown lmfao
In 7:30, an unfortunate understanding when the guy asked his girlfriend to give him a little head in his tub of popcorn.
The scariest and funniest thing about this movie is Phelans' reaction. Trapped in bad comedy hell
The thing is this could have actually been funny had they put efforts in the jokes. Like the "the Rock" thing? I met Conrad Brooks years ago and got his autograph.
Conrad brooks is a legend.lol
Okay, now I'm interested in that Freaky Vampire thing this is on a double bill with.
It's like they tried to do their own Kentucky Fried Movie, but missed by a lot.
Your "sketch" was hilarious
what about second flick in this glorious double feature?)
paranormal cops spoof with fake commercials? ill stick with ghostbustin 911
Thanks for all these videos guys
Wow, I am mostly impress. Where dose one even finds a movie as... special as this one?
God I love this theme song!!!
I kinda like the idea of the movie. You could do interesting stuff with it.
HOW ... ARE ... THESE ... GETTING ... DISTRIBUTED!!!
This movie should be lost in the RIVERRRRRR
This reminds me of Monster Brawl, movie in which monster wrestle ala WWE.
The only redeeming thing about this “movie” is that it gave you material to talk about.
Conrad has a nice voice for character acting. And now I'm finding out he passed a year after this video. :(
omg doug mentioned.
They could do a ton of reviews on Conrad Brooks films as there are a bunch of these flicks that he's in. Or they couldn't as they don't really look all that good to me.
This looks just great... Thanks for sharing :)
I was unaware that "Transylvania" was somewhere in the United States.
Well atleast this made me want to watch X-COPS again.
I found those bakula shirts on the site tee public after watching her old videos. I got a long sleeve of it.most ppl don't get to it .I made Scott bakula rap on my RUclips channel with the shirt on.lol
that ending with adrenaline shot confuse me
I laughed very hard at this...like a lot...
This is more of a vlog. I'm not dissing Phelan or anything but when Allison is by herself the reviews are much more focused.
But it's more fun when there are other people conversing
I find that more interesting. I really enjoy just listening to people discuss the movie and give honest thoughts without it being too focused on being scripted. It's like hanging out with some cool people and talking films, which I love to do.
Hot Take but Phelan is grumpy sometimes.
Great episote
Evenn Halloweenie sketches have more quality than this garbage of movie
I love David "The Rock" Nelson!
Wait, did you say "Doug's OLD place"??? Not that its anybodies' business but he did film a lot there and it would be a little sad to hear its gone now, lol.
David Johnson had a short documentary made about him, kind of a fascinating guy. Terrible at movies, but fascinating.
Allison, and her ever changing hair do
For some reason, i wasn't prepared for how bad this movie was gonna be.
and yaaaaay Phelous used a wrestling term!
They were from Transylvania alright...Transylvania, New Jersey.
at least it was better than Kickassia.
Reno 911, halloween edition
This sounds like the X-Files episode X-Cop... only not funny.
Here's a tough question-
in terms of shot-on-shitteo Conrad Brooks movies, which is worse: This or Rollergator?
Rollergator
MTV made a similar series called Death Valley
You 2 make a cute couple.
Allison.... Don't be alarmed but I'm pretty sure your face is changing colors
Hey just found this and I loved the review of the movie. I was the first cop, Lamar Floyd and the werewolf in this. Do you only review movies? I have a youtube channel now and make short films and skits for fun if you feel like checking it out.
Jim, you need a new side gig.
So, when is this coming out on Blu-Ray?
Hopefully NEVER.
Wait, how did they capture a werewolf during the daytime?
This thing looks like it was shot in North Carolina, is that accurate? The movie, not the review.
I thought this would be a review of the 1987 Monster Squad. Disappointed isn't adequate as a description.
This makes that POS look like the James Whale Frankenstein
Why not
review the tv show wishbone or another episode of goosebumps or are you afraid of the dark
I'd have phelous's babies..... sorry lupa
We made better movies than this when I was in high school in the back yard.
I made better movies than this in my basement during college, because I knew what editing was.
hmm is this replacing red letter media?
home movie quality
It's like Code Pru if it was shit
🎃
Adam Sandler Dracula was not in this.
With better writing, editing and camera quality, this could actually be a pretty solid SNL or Key and Peele skit. Decent idea but poorly executed.
Emphasis on 'skit.' This concept could probably maintain a five minute sketch, not a whole movie or even a full half hour.
I could make a better movie than this and that's sad
This is so bad it's NOT good.
i was seriously triggered when i saw the words "Monster Squad" & "worst ever" in the title. But thankfully this video has nothing to with the classic movie Monster Squad.
"wolfman's got nards"
Jesus, this looks so awful
I feel like you should have saved your viewers from experiencing this.
Can you do a review where you cant say anything negative? Lol. Dancing Bigfoot was funny
