🤔In time, a volcano that is dormant will eventually drift over a Hotspot in the Earth. Magma will take the path of least resistance and the volcano could be reactivated.
🤔 Tectonic drift could go over a hotspot in time, and a dormant volcano could drift over it and reactivate it as the magma could/would or should take the least path of resistance. Just a thought.✌️
@@davidmurray6176 A volcano's typical lifespan rarely reaches more than 2 million years before extinctions, most active volcanoes are under a million years old. The edifice will very likely be entirely eroded and the magma chamber completely crystallized before going over the hotspot, which will create a new system instead of reactivation. That being said, there are exceptions of course: France's Cantal volcano was active for 10 million years before going extinct, and there's almost nothing left of it in the surface now, knowing it used to be about as big as Etna (plz need more videos of France's volcanoes)
I really liked tagaytay, was my honeymoon 😊told her I would be good if she would get me to and on taal,$10usd got me on just south of laurel, went to skyranch , people park in the sky, picnic grove, buildings in taal, and a motorbike ride up the mountainous cliffs from laurel to west of tagaytay- loved it
Looking at the crater lakes on Askja, the smaller one appears to be about the same color as the lake that formed on Kilauea a few years back. There must be quite a bit of dissolved gases in that water!
It is the displaced volume that makes the difference. Usual waves are superficial and imply a small local amount of water while a tsunami wave span over a huge volume displaced. Yes it's 50cm but over km3 of volume. Compare that with the few cm of rain vs hurricane level of it, not that impressive but on several states wide and all at once and you get biblical fast.
I don’t think you understand how a tsunami works, a 2 meter tsunami means more or less than the sea level COULD temporarily increase by a bit less than 1.5 meters, that means that if your home was at the coast the whole first floor would be submerged. Thats scary.
No, that is not what he said. After he had made the video but before he posted it, the group of hotspots on the flank of the volcano were confirmed as being produced by a forest fire (a possibility he had already identified in the video. That's hotspots, not an earthquake!
as a long time viewer of this channel calling his narration "ai" is probably the biggest fucking insult you can ever give it, this man has a narration mode like a lot of other youtubers

Thanks for all the hard work on these videos!
I really like your channel... You explaining so well , it's always clear...♥
Thanks for sharing! 😊
How bout a video on the complex formation of agates?
Ohhh yes!
I am very grateful that this channel leaps into my feed the minute a new video is published. This news is critical.
Yes Yes Yes. That is awesome. It keeps us update more than the news.
I have a silly question. Is there really such thing as a "Dormant" volcano?
Yes. For example, the Lavic Lake volcanic field in California.
Geology 101, also Google: a dormant volcano is one that hasn't erupted in the past 10,000 years, but which scientists judge as likely to erupt again.

So.. Lemme Askja somethin........lolololol (yes i think puns bes funny!)
Thanks as always, Geology Hub!
great video
🎉 thanks for this
Thank you G H... Appreciate this footage/update
Is Sitkin same as Sitka? I have a Russian/Ukraine friend who commercially fished here.
I use ground news on the daily, great to see they are sponsoring projects that share their beliefs and passion.
A week update without mention taal is really uncommon.
Thanks!
Thanks
Always fascinating, Thank you

I have a question, do you still recieve requests for topics?
Whats happening with taal volcano
Come on 50!
😎👍
A tsunami smaller than a typical beach wave 😂
I too am glad that it was quite small. However, past similar events have actually caused damage to boats.
Hey, size doesn't matter, it's still a great tsunami. Try to be a little more sensitive. We don't want to give it a complex.

Is it relate to the hight solar activity?
Earthquake caused by a forest fire??? Na

Not AI at all - see the recent Iceland videos where he appears on screen.
What a clown
Another interesting video RUINED by AI voicing. I cannot watch it.
