Cleaning your room, making your bed, washing the dishes, making your food, cutting the grass, taking the garbage out, waking up early, exercising, etc. If you neglect them, the great ones will never happen. Dude you're not too late. Peterson does make it sound like there is a bleak outlook if you're older, but lots of people go back to school after having kids or whatever. I've lost about 15 years, am almost forty, and back in intermediate algebra in college. (which is actually pretty good considering I haven't done math in over a decade.) Luckily I got a LOT done when I was young, so it won't be too long before I'm done with my BA even going part time. You just have to work a little harder at things until you get the hang of it, but it's surprising how rapid you can get back to your old mindset once the negative influences are gone, and if you can't get away from them, you have to do stuff exactly like what you are doing- you are seeking out better influence on your own. Like...I knew just how little math I knew before I went back and I re-learned all the basic stuff which totally prepared me for the class. Better late than never. Doing nothing gets you nowhere. Don't despair. If you want another really good motivational speaker- just look for the "cut the bulkshkt" vet tv video. I think it's exactly the kind of thing a lot of people need to hear whether they are veterans or not. Speaking of which, I need to quit screwing around on RUclips and go work on homework. Oh one other thing-if you go back or are going back to school, I bet you have a totally different attitude about it, seeing it for the gift that it is instead of thinking of it as some crappy thing you have to do. I'm looking forward to taking full advantage of all kinds of things the university offers- like..I'm so excited that I get to have access to books and scientific papers.. What I'm getting at is I am a much happier person if I am greatful for things. And be greatful for your health. Everyone takes that for granted until you get sick and addiction is a sickness. You were severely chronically ill for five years. Appreciate the fact that you've got your health back. God bless.

Speaking of financial freedom, I've been thinking about it a lot and the best option is to invest more because I don't think you can get very far depending on a single source of income.
Investing can be intimidating for many people because there are so many options and it can be difficult to determine which investments are the right ones. I would like a recommendation if you have any?

    • @M_Harry2

Planning for financial freedom is a marathon, not a race, as the saying goes. Breaking your financial independence goals into small pieces can help you stay on track while making the process a little more manageable and hopefully a little less stressful. Even if you are starting small, the important thing is to start.
The investment creates a safe haven for the future. Everyone needs it so you don't go bankrupt when you stop working

For a week I really considered ending it. Even my one year old son at the time wouldn't care. Not today. Not for a few years... But 10, 20, 30 years down the line it would really affect him and I didn't want to leave him like that. My only other option was to become a better person.

So when he tried coming off the meds he went through such severe withdrawals that it was literally killing him and they couldn’t get the drug out of his system because of this. So they had to seek treatment in Russia bc the US & Canadian healthcare process was extremely behind for what they were needing in Jordan’s unique situation. I believe he is doing a lot better now. I heard from his daughters FB page that he is currently residing in Florida. I’m not sure what he’s doing exactly. Probably still recovering. I haven’t kept up recently. I got all this info from his daughters RUclips channel and FB page.

Also, if you're looking for a similar info/attituide Jocko Willink's podcasts and books are just as good imho. We need lots of worker bees to man the cash registers at Wal-Mart and lots of drones to answer phones at call centers. I have an inconvenient truth for you: Bush was the president that signed off on the No Child Left Behind Act.
True progressives (Independants and Socialists) are pushing for an overhaul of the education system and free college.

7:49 I cried as I laughed with this guy and maybe he was crying too because what the professor said was so true; it's like being crushed by nihilism and hopelessness for so long, suffering for it, and finally seeing some kind of light to aim for, like being saved, and it's so so relieving that I can't help but weep with regret and joy for my wasted past and for the potential of the future. I wish so badly that I could've heard this when I went to school. That part of my life is done, but I'm still young (24) and I finally know what to do with myself. I will struggle with all my soul for the rest of my life on behalf of the good because it seems as apparent to me as it is to Dr. Peterson that there's nothing more meaningful or useful in combating the tragedy of life to do so.
This man is literally my hero, and the world is better to have had him. I'm so unbelievably grateful I'm having trouble describing it. Thank you Mr. Peterson. Thank you.

If my opinions can provide you some additional support or confirmation, I can say reading good books does make a significant difference. It's hard to describe how reading the words written by individuals (alive or dead) who invested their time to appropriately inspire, teach, and support others who they may never meet, coach, or be able pass on knowledge to within their sphere of influence or lifetimes. Additionally, if you stumble after this, the time spent in recovery to stand back up is never wasted. Understand and learn from your experiences, which will propel you forward. Learning never ends. As example, I am pursuing another degree to expand myself further to take myself to better place. I wish you the best as you strive to achieve the better place in your path. 👍

I think the thing that sets Jordan Peterson in front & apart of his predecessors is "trust"!
He's a real person that's not afraid to show his emotions & he genuinely cares for the success & well being of his fellow man. He wants to share his thoughts & knowledge with his world, to do his part for the Good of All Humankind.
God Bless you Jordan Peterson and Thank You.

Thank you for keeping Petersons message going. Most only know him from the lies NBC, New York Times, Etc say about him, it's a shame as he really is an inspiration. Thanks

D Law those publications only expose themselves for the liars they are. People who call Peterson racist or misogynistic are ideologically possessed.

His public speaking is amazing. Never looks at notes yet is always on topic even when he is clearly free flowing.
