Its just not fair to be honest. I spend the last 12 months poring over YT vids in a quest to be proficient in recognising brick bonds. Then you come up with that retaining wall with English bond but much wider. 😥. That bond looks very classy and simply sticks out from the usual stretcher work. 👍👍😂
Gotta love those thick walls goes a lot of work in though .. watch the broken finger there Al 👆🏻😁.. enjoyed watching this , have a good weekend Steve and Alex 🙏🏻
Bricklaying Jay Puyenbroeck . Cheers Jay . This was 18 months ago when we were swamp rats in the foundations . We’ve gone up in the world now and semi retired the wellies 🥳🥳🧱👍🏽
@@martin2466 good morning martin. A positive response from mr swollocks. Nice to see. We don't need a bashing all the time! Good luck with the draining of said swimming pool. I too am in a similar situation in that I have to drain my hot tub in preparation for winter! But alas my shed (1 of 3) is in desperate need of refelting as its... shall we say leaking like fuck ! So that's the priority! Have a great wknd sir and I look forward to our next correspondence. Ciao for now.
While it's good to see something other than miles of boring half bond - I have to say that your corners are not English bond. I don't see a queen closer anywhere. Nonetheless, it's certainly a good, strong wall; keep up the good work!
@@SteveAndAlexBuild yeah I've seen some of his videos. Its interesting to see how people do it differently. I could talk about brick bonds all day. 😎 Have you ever built or heard of water bond?
We certainly wouldn't see a brick retaining wall in Canada. They would use large concrete blocks or just poor a concrete wall. I really wish our cities had a little more pride and didn't just accept bland throwaway architecture. I enjoy seeing a wall like this going up because it is far more likely to still be there in a few decades then anything being built near where I live.
Can see the speed from now and then has picked up with Alex👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🏴🇬🇧🏴🇬🇧

Its called Dutch bond if Queen closers are not used. At least it was when I was at building college
🧱👍🏼
That's not Dutch bond mate, Dutch bond is where the stretcher half bonds over the stretcher that is underneath the header course.
Luckytrowel12 . As in Jay puenbroeks work over in Belgium 👍🏼🧱
