I have just recently with in the last 2 years started collecting vinyl .. I spent many hours in my room in the 80s and 90s when I was in high school listing to records. I spent a lot of my child hood hearing my parents play there records. Iron butterfly ,AC/DC, Eagles, Joe Wash, Dire Straights, TULL, Fleetwood mac. a lot of my friends could not figure out why I was not in to music CDS it was all the rage. Its the whole tactile thing of opening the jacket and pulling out and smelling it then hearing the slight imperfections and crackles of hearing the music.
My story is of a slightly older generation. I brought my own vinyl records as a child and even collected them a little. This was in the USSR. But then, with the advent of the era of first radio tape recorders, and then CDs, I simply gave them away or threw them away. Now I'm putting it back together again. Vinyl certainly has its own unique sound character.
