I also LOVE the choice of Mikasa choosing not to take the easy way out by trying to forget Eren. She still loves him and that never changes. But she found the strength to do what she had to anyway
The bird Falco plot twist is so amazing because it’s one that’s super hard to see coming but once it happens it feels so obvious in hindsight. That’s been being foreshadowed since basically the start of the whole damn story. All the bird imagery had to have an explicit story payoff too (beyond the symbolism) and there it was
except it *didn't* have to have an explicit story payoff; its a motif, not a plot point

Loved this series, but did you notice that the boy and his dog at the end appear in the battle of heaven and earth as part of the nine titans ancestors.... all this has happened before and will happen again (battlestar galactica) style....
The visions of eren and mikasa having a life away from war and eren and armin having that long discussion about his motives comes all happened while they were travelling on the boat to stop eren. Eren told them everything and then erased their memories, for them to remember again once they have successfully stopped him. It's his way of thanking them for stopping him. And at the end the boy and the dog will likely find the power of titans again from that tree. It's the endless cycle of war.
It may not be titans. The titan power was born from Ymir's desire to live and be immortal. The only reason she actually died is due to hearing King Fritz's words to rise upon her being struck by a spear, she realized he didn't love her and still viewed her as his slave.
The boy entering the tree isn't in a state of fear for his life so who knows what power may be born from his interaction with the Hallucinogenia.
Just watched the finale for the dub, and now I'm here. What a ride. I will say some minor nitpicks, it was 13 year lifespans not 10, and you forgot to put in the Total Win Score & Award at the end. Final win score is 790. Award: BEST ANIME TO HAVE EVER BEEN MADE!
It was truly unique experience, seeing the show that got me into anime a decade ago, finally end...

Apparently the manga had the reveals in a worse way so I’m very grateful the anime added more dialogue and I think changed some of the order of reveals.
I for one really enjoyed the end having only been an anime watcher.

goddamnit i love attack on titan. People complain about the ending but hell, i love it. Are there things that don't *really* make sense? sure. But none of that really matters. what an amazing show. what a story. what a JOURNEY

I think the ending was a big and terible mistake.
I lost interest of AoT round the middle of season 2 as it got surprisingly boring plus the random heel turn for Eren to now being a villain

Yes it's not the Ending we wanted. But it was a beautiful end. There's no greater love a man has than to be willing to lay his life down. And that's what Eren did.
