How in the world someone could mistake this for a Ford I'll never understand.
Enjoy this beauty!
Hilarious or a Bentley. Bentleys are ugly tank compared to Astons.
That's because Ford copied the grill design for its low budget cars to make them look more worthy I am a sportscar enthusiast, but I really can't differ a Vantage from a Mondeo in the rear mirror. Most of the times it is a Mondeo unfortuntatey, because I prefer to encounter a AM on the streets.
LOVE IT! - Had this gal friend who worked at the Aston dealer. So, we drove a new loaded "Vanquish" one day and this was a TOTAL blast.
Taking out both the girl and the guy at the intro and the look on your face after has to be the funniest thing I've seen all week lol
My Mustang gives me the same feeling. I gave it a lot of Bond inspiration and it just feels special.
The Aston Martin is an iconic British classic. Perhaps the most beautiful car design aesthetic of the past 30 years. No diamond ear-piercing or tattoo required. Just the beauty of the curve and wonderful proportion.
Your show is entertaining and interesting, I stumbled upon your channel a couple of years ago when researching the Barbour Jacket as worn in Sky Fall. Great jacket, I bought one too.
Oh & worth putting the fuse back in occasionally as the valves can stick open if not activated after a long period
The engine was so hot because you remained in lower gears excessively. You will enjoy the drive more if you move up the gears earlier. Love your enthusiasm.
Thanks for taking us on that journey!!!
Did you know that DBS in Casino Royale was not an Actual DBS it was a DB9 that was dressed by Aston Martin to look like the actual DBS.
Makes sense because CR came out in 2006 and the DBS came out in 2009
Maintenance tip. Replace fuse every few months or carbon could cause the exhaust valve to be stuck open. No big deal if you always want that awesome sound.
Haha, that trick with the fuses is insane. I love how you just open the trunk of your six-figure sportscar and lobotomize the exhaust management system with a leatherman. That's also very James Bond of you.
Just FYI if you run it like that for too long you might burn out the solenoids in the muffler (which we call a silencer in England) because the fuel mixture is artificially rich. An alternative hack I've read about is apparently to disconnect the vacuum tubes leading to the switch valve on the muffler, which means the fuel mixture won't be as rich - and I think it's pretty much as easy.
(He says, with absolutely no justification at all!)
Hi David - great stuff as always (love the pre-title sequence), but the Vantage is a V8 and although shares many parts of the chassis with the DB9 and therefore DBS (which was the Casino Royale / Quantum of Solace car) they have V12 engines which are two Ford Mondeo V6 units fused together and run on a larger platform. However, the DB10 is completely based on this chassis. They used your Vantage platform and re-bodied the car to bring DB10 to life. So, it could be argued that you are driving the most current Bond car..
Also note your car is a 2 seater only, but the DB9 and DBS do have rear seats (if optioned). Hope this helps.
The bit about two Ford Mondeo 6-cylinder engines "fused" to make a V12 is an oversimplification. That was closer to being true with the DB7 Vantage, where the V12 was first introduced by Aston Martin. It's evolved quite a bit since then. The same engine block is also used in the Aston Martin Vulcan, which proves that the humble beginnings don't hold it back at all.
The V8 Vantage has an awesome V8 sound. I love the roar it makes under hard acceleration. For comparison, here is an actual DBS V12 like the one in Quantum of Solace: ruclips.net/video/hXiRcuf-sCQ/видео.html
I missed that Pt 2 somehow for years. Good I found it and thank you David for having shared this emotional experience. I regret most car testing is on technical details and not on the feelings you share with this care. I like the "Casino Royal Effect" you have, when going to your care to the 007 Theme in Pt. 1. That's what we want to feel, too. And with your video we are able to feel a little bit like you and our favorite movie character.
You deserve so many more followers!
That’s a fuse box, not a gear box.
Yep...had a senior moment....
TheBondExperience Great car next nonetheless. Congrats and enjoy!
@@TheBondExperience hah only JUST watched this and yep excitable senior moment 😂
Awesome...💗💗💗
I bought one 3 months ago and its identical to yours, i picked upon everything you said and agree, its a wonderful car.
The one thing you forgot to mention is the amazing smell of the interior, warm high quality leather.
I was also surprised at the heat from under the bonnet so much that i had it checked out.
My CD player has almost become obsolete because i listen to the engine instead, am i becoming a geek
or having a mid life crisis ?
I'm not a big fan of Bond but i am of Aston Martin's, the sound of the V8 is infectious and i'm so glad i bought a manual
gearbox, i thought the automatic/paddle shift version was a bit sluggish compared to this.
stephen close I have an ‘06 Vantage. And I think it looks so badass when you see the heat creeping up from the hood vents.
Oh that sound's sooo GOOD! I love the "open header's sound" of an Aston Martin with the 22 removed. By the way, off subject, Nolan and the bomber jacket that Craig wear's around, are my first early wishes for the Bond 25.
I guess living in America the Aston doesn't have the same recognition factor as a Porsche it's not instantly in your face it's elegantly stylish. You look at it and drink it in. I get a kick out of seeing this. What a cool car! :)
Being from Philadelphia it is so strange to see those PA inspection stickers on that sweet car
David this is my future life goal! Wish me luck! Congrads on the beautiful car it's well earned and deserved!
Loved the intro 😂
David, you are becoming a more interesting person than bond himself. Keep it up my man! Btw, what do you do for a living, loved your driveway!
You don’t have to offend the man he has his dream car let him enjoy it , his channel the bond experience is AWESOME!!! By the way my most favorite Ashton Martin is the DB 10 what a elite prestige gorgeous DB 10 I love it so much only 10 where made and I would love to own it
Surprised, it sounds sooo good
Incredible
I've not checked in ages and I'm thrilled about your Vantage. I've also looked at an XK8 as an option too, but the Vantage with the manual is my first choice.
I would notice it in traffic! It's a beautiful car and sounds amazing! :)
Very nice, I'm not sure how the neighbors feel about the sound. One of the bad things about Ford buying Aston was they stole the grill which you see on some of their cheaper cars.
Really nice video David. Glad you're enjoying the car .. I've had my Vantage (roadster) for 5 months .. Sounds wonderful with Fuse 22 removed especially with the roof down !!!
Love it! My pt GT makes me feel same way. Same colour..
David- fantastic video on a fantastic car. I'm jealous! BTW I grew up in Pa. and that looks like a typical Pa. day in December. I do miss Pa..Keep the great videos going Sir!
Very nice supercar! I don't know what is the know Aston Martin efect in the U.S., but here, in Switzerland, it's a highly respected brand and model. Anyway, congratulations for the treat and make sure you enjoy the experience!
great vide David, now ur kinda making me want a vanquish lol
Abertura do vídeo foi sensacional, seu fã do Brasil 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Best of luck ,Enjoy your ride and Thank you for sharing
Great sound, beautiful car.
Great video David. The car looks like a lot of fun. I don't know how it could be invisible. Will you get a fuse 22 switch installed? Sort of a Q-Branch modification.
Very nice, David. Whatever you do, don't roll her seven times.
That intro was hilarious!
Incredible!!!!!!!
Hi David great video! I am eyeing on of these as my next and likely forever car. I have always loved the appeal of an Aston. Where did you get the DB10 key chain? I would love to pick one up. Keep the good work!
Lovely car and fun video I bought a Porsche 2 years ago and you do get looks from time to time and it’s fun to drive. I would love an Aston Martin but I might have to get a 4 seater car to justify it with having kids
Been waiting for this!!
Hey I really like the car and a fan of the Bond experience
Congratulations! You have brilliant taste! Enjoy my friend!
Very cool car.
The neighbourhood you live in is very impressive, 1 acre lots? Real estate prices in Canada are crazy, even in Western Canada-SK where houses are built to minimum spec 10 feet apart, no lack of space!
OK I get that you like the "sound" but man I was willing you to change gear, I know you've deep pockets but could you actually see the fuel guage drop driving at those revs? Nice car anyway
I hear ya, but I promise I was keeping it well within efficient revs....just sounds like that. :)
@@TheBondExperience BS
I was expecting to see mr white in the boot. (Trunk)
I am ashamed to admit that when I heard that the car doesn’t get recognised I thought “bloody Americans”. Even though Rick Ross released a song about it.
Fantastic video, David!
May I know the brand of your great looking glasses?
@thebondexperience when will we get a part 3 David:-) would love to see if you could add the secret passenger side drawer like in the bond films
great intro dude!
@The Bond Experience nice vintage intro to the channel. Who's the woman in the red dress at the beginning?
Take a high performance driving course and take it to the track. You'll love it.
Hi David I loved the video and can't wait for the next part :) Congratulations man! You made me believe that someday I'll get one Aston Martin :') hahaha I want to ask you three things, one is, How much do you spend on gas per week?...Secondly, Why you decided to go on that model instead of a DB9 2006 or a Vanquish 2003? I had seen a Vanquish in that same good conditions as your Vantage and for only 48k on ebay! :O Well I think it depends alot of who's selling it and the real conditions of the engine but what I saw in the pictures and mileage it was flawless from the outside as well as the inside. And last Would you teach us to do a james bond tie knot? Hahahahaha Thank you very much my friend I send you a big hug! You made me believe again hahaha!
If the expert car designers in England put fuse 20 there it would be for a reason so i would leave it there. The engine sounds like its screaming its head off and over reving.
Sound ordinance laws....
TheBondExperience Got it David. I was just thinking. Bond is all about being discreet, covert, understaded. Think about the clothes, the watches. Subtle is everything. Bond would leave the fuse in. The noise is for you and not the locals. Hope you are having a great Christmas.
Fair and valid points....and a Great Xmas to you as well!
What’s with the doors? Shouldn’t they say at the position you leave them instead of falling down.
"Gear Box"?
Kudos for driving a manual!
Great car, but I guess there's no frugal Bond version this time...
David, how much you bought it for?
So what do people say and how do they react when they see you in this car and mainly when you are dressed and looking like Bond?... Do you go places in full on Bond clothes and gear sun glasses and all???... Got to be fun... (Adding an edit here) I started writing this comment/question at the beginning of the video - then shortly after I got to the part where you said a lot of the reactions are like it is invisible etc... So amended here - how do people that do know Bund cars and the full bond look like you do - how do they react???... and now that's all I got to ask about that.
Are you on the main line? I love driving in the back roads of Malvern
I always wondered why it took you so long to buy an Aston David!
Never understood why they rev cars up before they shut them off in movies. Anyone who’s…driven any car…knows that’s not how cars work.
Where's part 3?
What did you study mate so I can buy an A.M. too? Hahahahaha! Any advice?
Marketing ;)
wish the weather was better
I cant drive but damn if i could id get an aston martin. Even though book bond drives a Bentley.
Jesus, change out of second 😩
Wonderful choice of car though possibly not the greatest choice of trousers.
well, I have to agree with you on both accounts!
Music! Dang!
Please take a look at Doug Demuro channel. He is an automotive journalist who had a car very close to yours for a year.
I've seen it! Very informative.
Ha! When you accidentally shot the beautiful girl... And then are, like, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ which is a very appropriate Bond response.
No noise ordinance in Pa.?
Where are you now David? Why’s the Brit doing the video’s?
Oh dear, lol. Oops.
..has it broken yet........................
how much u paid for?
$460
your total lack of mechanical sympathy had me cringing all the way - the valve gear / gudgeon pin bearings sound possibly worn / oil starved?
Dude, years later but Learn how to shift properly.
As a car guy, there is a great amount of cringe watching this video, nonetheless, I see a gentleman driving a manual
Ugh.. shift please.. painful to watch.. awesome car though.. engine work on an Aston isn't cheap..
the cringe is real
Very nice supercar! I don't know what is the Aston Martin efect in the U.S., but here in Switzerland it's a highly respected brand and model. Anyway, congratulations for the treat and make sure you enjoy the experience!
