- Season 4 is here and I've been asked a ton about Holy and Discipline Priest healing in the latest patch. I did a ton of testing on the first week and here's my impressions so far!

As a Disc main, it is absolutely bizarre to see Holy putting out so much damage. This identity theft cannot stand!
I mained disc too but swapped to holy because dammmmn bruh paired with the trinket that summons clones that do an arcane barrage in doing 150k overalldps in dungeon,
Tree boss in Algerthar I came 2nd in dps holding 300k
I'm loving holy this season! Even if people say the spec is easiest to play, the whack-a-mole style healing with massive heals from Holy Word: Serenity plus Echo of Healing feels great. And the gameplay loop that rewards you for hitting your buttons is fantastic in my opinion.
For pugging definitely Holy. When you dont know if people will interrupt or not get hit by a random mechanic Holy is a Miracle Worker. And Disc just gets his whole rotation fucked when that happens.

Always love your vids, they help a lot! I still don't know whether I should pick up vakash or ward as a disc M+ and holy raid player. I guess I'll see if I can loot the ward or oce this week in the raid!
Another good video. I seen today in fact that tanks can drop dead suddenly. Sometimes it helps with the incoming spells weakaura so you know to protect them with Guardian Spirit or Pain Suppresion. I am currently rocking Holy with the dps it does and the bullion giving me Vakash. I tend to play one spec until some boredom might come around or I fancy a change up which is why I also have a resto shaman. :D
After playing disc the whole expansion, I decided to play a season as Holy instead. It feels great but my only concern is its lack of dmg mitigation. With all the one shots, it is nice to be able to cover a pug dps who doesnt use personals...
Flash heal 10%, Crits 5%, use your power word shields, and prayer of mending.
Yes holy has incredible passive dr. You'll find if people are dieing its on them not you
You also just use a dinar or get the ward trinket from Echo of Nelth in abberus. That's your external. 1 min CD shield trinket
I've just started playing holy and it's a lot of fun, tried disc before and my brain was too small to properly heal with it. I still feel a lot weaker than my long-time main, mw, but that probably comes down to familiarity. It feels so good to actually do some good damage, on mw I only see good numbers if I use a damage trinket.
I have always been a Holy hater. If there are 1 million Holy haters, I am one of them. If there is 1 Holy hater, it is me. If there are no more Holy haters, I am dead.
But I really enjoyed Holy's S3 tier set and I have been enjoying healing S4 so far as Holy. I enjoy free Holy Words and wish it was just apart of the default toolkit.
The damage Holy pumps is also incredible, and I do wish it would be nerfed. I would rather see priest healers in general receive more common utility buttons (for example an interrupt, a combat resurrection, or bring back Shining Force) than one or both specializations pump damage.

I was a disc main before 10.2. I detest the 10.2 changes. There’s nothing fun about mashing smite. 10.1 disc honestly was crazy fun for me. Yeah button bloat sucks but I’ll take button bloat over the “radiance then spam smite” we have now
i'm a disc lover, but i've switched to holy and it honestly feels so much better. I'm genuinely doing more damage as holy and way more healing as well, especially burst healing
Holy is when I feel like playing a bit... elevated since there isn't much to worry about. Disc is if I have a desire to pay attention to the game. It's nice to have 2 options lol.

Holy feels amazing! I'm running my lightweaver build however. The rotation of serenity, fh, fh, h, h, is absolutely unstoppable. I'm able to run 2 dmg trinkets, vakash, and the two fire rings and have not issues pushing high key and contributing on average around 150k dps overall.

Remember how Disc was healing spec that required you to mostly do damage for healing? Looks like now it's worse for damage too, forgot about the healing part! 🤭🤭

As Disc priest I use 2 DPS trinkets, these being the Tome and Feather, with these 2 I end up with around 150k dps overrall in lvl 10 keys, however, holy still gets better numbers tho
Yeah I’m waiting on feather still but tome is forsure getting nerfed I’m at 150k roughly with just tome playing holy, we did tree boss in algethar and I had 300k dps came second it was hilarious tome proc at the perfect rime
Disc is so enjoyable but since I pug , I have to always run after people so they are in atonment range or they take sudden dmg and I got to flash heal instead of trying to get my pet back , so it needs a cordinated grp of people to truely have fun as disc XD
I have found seedling to be incredible in keys where players are spread out and needing massive aoe healing. GS the seedling and pop a serenity or 2 and everyone is full.
it is a 2 min cd though :(
Disc main since TBC here. Holy feels best. It hurts to say so, but it does... But to quote the healing officer in my guild: "it might be good, but hpriest is still the BM hunter of healing specs".
There are easier specs than Holy, ie RDruid
@@Aggrofool RDruid isn't hard to those of us who play it frequently, but I play Holy priest as well and reactive healing will never be harder than preemptive healing.
@@mooncrescent17223 I need a good way to actually play rdruid in raids. In m+ it's perfect but in raids I just don't get it. Spread 2 rejuvs per party member and you're oom

For healing, I'll be maining HPriest this season. Tanking still the Prot Pal.
Holy straight dookies on Disc
Pontifex and its subsequent talent under it is worth 1 point. Bigger serenity's and Sanctify as well as a 20% boosted flash heal really helps.
How do you make your party health bars glow?

I prefer disc in every aspect, but holy just does ridiculous damage in keys that I feel somewhat obligated to play it once keys get higher. I probably won't because I love disc, but man it feels kinda bad to see how much damage I can do on holy.
If you can afford to run the tome from av it closes that damage gap
@@derpycreeperMC I do run the tome on disc and it pumps, but I could also just run the tome on holy and pump harder. Sorta 1:1 there ya know?

Maybe a dumb question but I always have issues using on use-target trinkets when using vuhdo. Some reason it always still just casts on myself not to the target I am selecting. Is there any chance I am just doing something wrong in my on-use settings? Love the vids.. Keep up the grind.
You could also use a normal keybind with a macro and the conditionals(/use 13 [@mouseover, help][@target, help][@player]) that you need thereby bypassing any addon problems you may have.
@@asldfjkalsdfjasdf I don’t use any mouse overs. I rely heavily on vuhdo. Bad habit I picked up learning on healbot.

fun fun fun :3 I want a little more damage as disc and I want maybe a useful M+ version of CoH/poh in the talent tree? not taking a 5 target heal cause it's bad in M+ is so silly
Every exansion I feel like all bets are off when Season 4 rolls around :) People are insanely OP and Blizzard is already focusing all of their Energy on the next Expansion - that is why I generally take Season 4 off :) That said - it's pretty crazy that Holy is doing more damage than Disc. I am a champion of Disc and always have been so it will be interesting to see how things flesh out for the new expansion - that is really where I think people's heads are :) Playing the Alpha and then Moivng onto the BETA :) Yah I am thinking about BETA... ahah :) We love you though Jak - thanks for shining a light on the current vibe of Priest god healers :)
I do best of both world, disc for raids, holy for m+
I think it's really dumb that a 'do damage to heal' spec doesn't do mote damage than other healers
No, it isn't. Disc heals *while* doing damage. Holy must choose to heal *or* do damage. Additionally, due to that mindset, blizz has notoriously struggled with balancing disc. Disc can't do the most damage and most healing, it wouldnt make sense to play holy or any other healer. I'm cool with disc having high damage and sick externals/shields if their healing was garbage. High skill floor. You just can't have a Mary sue like many disc players want.
@governmentghost01 no, it feels horrible. Disc can't ever choose to do more damage even when healing isn't needed. If they'd ramp our dps a little when less atonement are out then I'd agree. But otherwise it sucks to be not taken cause other healers not only do more dps, but can also do more healing when they focus strictly on just healing .
If I had instant radiance tier set I would play disc.
My life is way easier as holy.I only sweat when ranged dps are
spread.

This video is exactly what I've been experiencing. Holy deals big dps; Disc does constant hps.
I hope that Voidweaver priest in TWW can bring Disc Back more towards it's fun Hybrid DPS Healer roots from Legion, it's felt like they've been gradually moving away from it over the past couple patches and expansions and i'd like for it to make a return
I wish sanctify worked like luminous barrier so it would hit everyone in dungeons
There are not even close to enough healers so most times they can't choose and pick so you'll get invited no matter what healer you like playing
i dont play holy, but disc is feeling mighty nice. Even with a lower ilvl then anyone who runs m+ i can outheal the ones who do =D i would however like a better single target heal. Renew is a total disappointment- i only realized how much of a disappointment it was when amirdrassil raid came out. I couldnt heal the spirits fast enough by myself on fyrakk. Druid and MW monk however have a massive single target heal.
Ahh that explains why getting into a pug has been difficult this season.
No one wants priest this season. Everyone wants a druid because it's meta
@@johnlinks This isn't even remotely accurate. I'm 2400io Holy lol. I've been turned down maybe a handfull of times. When I queue I get into groups without sitting around. You're overly dramatic
Bad holy priests fail keys
I much prefer disc but my team wants me to go holy because of holy's dps...I understand dps is important in high keys, but I'm a healer at the end of the day. I'm torn.

The whole people declining healers because of meta offspecs is worse for pres evoker. Aug is aug and dev is really really strong this season too so getting into groups as a pres has been difficult to say the least
The amount of damage Holy Priest does is how much damage I think all healers should be able to do.

Holy feels a bit too straight forward for me and doest give me satisfaction sadly. I liked the prayer of mending build with that one tierset tho.
Holy damage makes it fun. I have no idea why they got rid of so much healer damage this xpac. My monk feels awful in this regard. You're doing all this shit and feel like you should be doing a ton of dmg, look down at meters and its borderline pointless
