This is one of the best welding channels. I like how there is an explanation and a demonstration. Before there is a bead ran. A lot of other channels tend to forget. If someone is watching they are needing to learn something, and run at full speed. I didn't get a lot of practice in school on Tig at school. I had the luck of the draw, and ended up using junk Mig and Tig equipment. I spent more time trying to get my bend tests passed. Than trying to get proficient. I work for a shop now. That will let me practice on my own time, and always has a lot of drop. So, I'm going in early to improve my Tig welding. Videos like this really helps.
Thank god I found this video. My biggest problem with welding for now is the tee joints my coworkers telling me walking the cup is the way to go. Now I know that wiggling is the way to go.
Finally! Something other then pipe and stick welding! All kidding aside im really glad u made this one! Im learning how to tig and videos like this help me a lot! Thanks man.
Hi sir iam alvin a filipino, iam just ah helper mechanic nkow how to weld smaw ,when i watch your video on tig weld its help me a lot sir..iam trying to study more for tig weld sir to master it and to change my working category thanks a lot sir
I really enjoy these videos man. I'm still in school for welding, and we just started TIG-1 last week. Its definitely a different beast compared to the other processes
Really good vid. Thx. I know this video is old but if you guys see this you should make a tig video on fillets and grooves using limited equipment (like if you only have access to a #8 cup) cheers
Quick question: how do you know that you're getting penetration into the corner with the lay-wire technique on the root pass? Is that a function of the amperage burning the filler in there? Thanks. Great videos, they've definitely helped me out a lot.
Krazy technique I have my test tm for this and you just gave me a Krazy ass ideas to set my amperage higher then 130 to like 160 you said . And your welding your filler rod never seen thy technique before
i started welding in 2004. I never tig welded outside of 2 nd year schooling. now 14 years later I have to spend $600 to take a beginners tig welding course
love this video, other tig torch manipulation keep it up bro! Im your fan from the Philippines. P. s. Hope you share a 3F too. power more to #weldtube. -newbie weldor(arc&tig)
When did they start calling any fillet weld on glad plate a root and hot? There is no gap so how do you root pass 2 pieces of metal with no gap? I’m very confused
I was running perfect beads like this in class and my teacher yelled at me because “lAy WirE TeChniQuE.” Apparently it doesnt hold as good as dabbing. He then tried to break my coupons with a hammer and was not able to. Is it true that employers won’t hire me if I weld like this? I can dab a decent tjoint but laywire looks so much cleaner.
Would yo make a video ... 4f in stick welding 7018 1/8 please brother, I would appreciate it very much🙌🏼🙌🏼 greetings from Chile 🇨🇱 ( excuse my English) 😅😅
i started out using a high freq with foot pedal... but man i really like the freedom of scratch start i just started doing pipe myself and i like the freedom you get not having to drag a pedal around its sweet funny in my garage my welder friends come over and im using a little stick welder inverter running scratch start with my everlast machine sitting there
Part Out rather than using you pedal, does your weldset not have a 2t/4t function? Use it all the time, less dulling of tungstens than scratchstarts that way, can do a 10hr day with only one or two touch ups on the bench grinder then

Love the GTA text
I need solid Tig series and I caint stand Chucky2009 lol.
I measure the stickout on a surface or the welding area.
I'm welding 1/4" steel and I keep getting under cutting what am I doing wrong
Im on 1/8 but i keep getting undercut too
you might have your amps low and your going slow causing a lot of heat in your metal but I recommend turning ur amps up and go faster while welding
Amps are too high
Bruh this video really helped me 👌🏼🤙🏼🔥🔥🔥💯😎
Ok!

Muito bom!

When did they start calling any fillet weld on glad plate a root and hot? There is no gap so how do you root pass 2 pieces of metal with no gap? I’m very confused

You rock!

couldn't quite hear you, what style torch ?
Maurice Faedo
17FV- thats 17sized flexible head, valve on torch
thank you
Do a 6gr all flux si puedes!
do you always run scratch start or are you using a foot pedal ever?
see if southcoast will buy you a dynasty :)
i started out using a high freq with foot pedal... but man i really like the freedom of scratch start i just started doing pipe myself and i like the freedom you get not having to drag a pedal around its sweet funny in my garage my welder friends come over and im using a little stick welder inverter running scratch start with my everlast machine sitting there

yeah it does but i hate the switch being on the torch.. messes with me
just the way i hold the torch i guess
Why does my instruc want me to do 6 passes on t joints then??
For sure no root with 165 amps
