For clarification, I gave away my carnival cake locally through my Instagram account! If you're local, this probably won't be the last time I'll be gifting locals with cake so if you would like to, please follow me on Instagram: instagram.com/sdbakeshoppe/?hl=en
Omg I have somehow missed the step of putting on a little bit of shortening before putting on the Fondant. Is that why it keeps ripping as soon as I put the Fondant on the cake?
Hello :) do you by chance have a video describing the differences between all the different types of cakes like shortened vs unshortened? What exactly is a "sponge" cake and do box cake mixes fall under that? Also, what exactly is carving or sculpting cake (what makes a cake recipe dense on purpose of course :) )? Thank you!
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe also I was wondering if you trim the carmalization on the outside by knife or cake ring how do you keep the cake from tearing apart when frosting/crumb coating? I usually leave the carmalization on the size because if I trim it off when I attempt to frost it tears apart 😢 (especially if I cut out smaller pieces with circle cookie cutters to make small personal size cakes but bigger than a petit four)
Your cake is beautiful!! I wonder though that for the top tier that tall why you didn't use the panelling method. The fondant appears to have great elasticity...my fondant tends to tear on cakes 5" or taller. Just wondering your trick. Thanks
This cake is very pretty! I know the Birthday Girl must be excited when she sees this. This is so nice of you to give back. Keep up the great work your doing.
How very thoughtful of you to make this cake for her. It is so nice to know that you really pay attention to your viewers. I can't think of any little princess who wouldn't just love to get a Beautiful cake like this. Even the BIG Princesses too!!
Ok, I gotta say it... Lmao You talk really fast. Which is Normally fine... But when I am tired, which is my problem tonight, I had to keep rewinding, ("what did she just say?" "Huh?", "Wait how did she do that?") Lmao. I will have to watch again tomorrow loo
🤣 the fondant flowers. I did a similar design boy that bottom tier took forever to cover. If put some tooth pick to hold it until it tries it won't fall gently pull them out add a small rose bud in the middle.
I do! If you look up my smash cake tutorial I list the same recipe I used for this cake and I also have both Italian meringue buttercream and American buttercream tutorials too :)

Can you post the link for the fly seahorse plaque I can't find it on Amazon

I do sometimes depending on what I’m doing. I add shortening to my fondant to avoid tearing! Gives it a bit more stretch 🥰
