Gabriellas song.
--Helen Sjöholm
It is now that this life is mine
I have got this short time on earth
And my longing has brought me here
All I lacked and all I gained
And yet its the way that I've chose
My trust was far beyond words
That has shown me a little bit
Of the heaven I've never found
I want to feel that I'm alive all my living days
I will live as I desire
I want to feel that I'm alive
Knowing I was good enough
I've never lost who I was
I have only left it sleeping
Maybe I never had a chance
Just the will to stay alive
All I want is to be happy
Being who I am
To be strong and to be free
To see days arise from nights
I am here and my life is only mine
And the heaven I thought was there
I will discover it there are somewhere
I want to feel that I lived my life
Absolutely beautiful and what a wonderful philosophy
One of the most beautiful films I have ever seen
True so true Louise Oh my God really!! 😉 also Norwegian Wood… Louise lots of Dutch friendly greetings from Egbert 😉
It is one of my favourites. Michael Nyqvist is glorious. Absolutely my most favourite actor in the world. So tragic that we lost him 💔
Oh my god i found it❤❤❤ 2024
That is singing: strong voice, no affectation, no electronic voice manipulation. Thanks for posting.
Pat, in Chicago
The power of your voice letting out is divine....I feel it to....your hearts opened ❤
Stunningly beautifully sung
❤ dankeschön einfach nur für das ich hören darf ein Film wie das Leben ist ❤🙏❤
If you want to sing along in English, this translation flows a lot better (i.e. syllables match):
At this moment my life is mine
I have just this short time on Earth
And my longing has brought me here
For the better and for the worse
Even so its the path I've picked.
M-y trust far beyond the words
That have shown me a little bit
Of the heven I've never seen
I want to feel that I'm living all my living days
I will live as I see fit
I want to feel that I'm living knowing that I am enough
I never forgot who I was
I have only left me to sleeping
Maybe I never had a choice
Just the will to carry on
I want to live happly just being myself
I want to be strong and free
To see how night turns to day
I. Am. Here. And my life is mine alone
And the heaven that I believed in
I will find out there... somewhere
I. want. to feel that I've lived. my. life.
My favorite version, with all the right shots and small English subtitles, plus the printable lyrics. Nice job. Fantastic Helen Sjoholm...and I believe she has said she loves to sing it, one of her favorites. Therapy
Thank you so much for your comment. Fantastic performance and fantastic movie.I shared this video coz i want ppl who appreciate the song as much as I do can see it . I'm glad you like it.
+lucia lu The fact is I play this several times a week. This song is just so moving.... all aspects are well done....the words of course...the build up ...the almost yelled out finish. Helen's just BELTING it out-such amazing power and force of her emotions apparent on her face. The look along from Michael - I picture him just wham! closing his fist as Helen keeps Punching it home. The little looks from Siv. Notice that subtle slight smile by Helen at the pause after the audience slow scan ...how/who thought of that,? Kay? It shows for me like ..."yeah I did this...I did it...I'm Living It." I find it exquisite!.
So many parts of the movie are as if from another world ...realm.

Also Lucia lu I am not sure if you know about the clapping in rhythm...shows approval and enjoyment...I believe a tradition at least done in Hungry, perhaps more as show here in Sweden.
Yeah I feel exactly the same and i can't agree more! Tho i can't watch it as several times as you do coz it gives me too much chill that i can take. the humanity they show from everyone around, so real, so touching. its like the moment that you realise the true meaning of living, the moment that you reach the epiphany of life: imperfection, freedom, liberation, authenticity, survival ... and all above all, love. It might look like its from another world (well its kinda true for me according to the physical distance), but I still feel that its us, its everybody around us. its human.
No..... I didn't even notice it until you pointed out, I thought it was a coincidence that they just happen to be clapping with the same rhythm at the same time... silly huh lol. So glad to hear this detail to be explained, wouldn't have known it if you didn't tell me. I really appreciate it :)
wow so beautiful .
Fantastic
Thank you for a great translation... But the singers name is Helen Sjöholm. ;)
+Ginga thanks for listening . I love this song tho I don't understand the language. got the lyrics from the DVD.
Thank you for the correction. Finally revised it.
Good work Lucy!
Wasn't Gabriella the name of her character in the movie?
The English words don't really reflect the Swedish sentiment.
I am mashed, but I love this song.
This song, this version, this filming of it... is so wonderful. So marvelous.
The movie, however, was just awful. So completely ridiculous to blame religion for one's personal unhappiness when the West has long practically eliminated religion from it's culture/s. A really stupid knee-jerk belief made into the foundation for a movie. What a pity such a gorgeous song-video is stuck within that silly movie.
Would you care to guess at the number of Christians in Sweden and the U.S. who go to church each week? Tens of millions total? And the number of pastors who share some of the pastor's outlook?
@@jimshackelford6302 next to none. That's the correct answer to both your questions: less than 10% of the populations, and if you really look at how pastors pastor you'll find less than 10% pastor in that desperately repressed and repressive manner. And probably far less. Pastors like that aren't well tolerated by their higher-ups or their congregations.
@@miketackabery7521 Plenty of them go the Joel Osteen route. If you think there are "next to none" strong Christians in the U.S., you'd do well to get out more, talk with more actual people. tens of millions. It's a work of fiction -- maybe you took it far too literally?
The words really suck being a womanizer ruining lives if it benefits your pocket book and well-being.
